    I've got to say I do love watching Nigel Farage berate various EU systems and politicians.

    He makes a lot of sense but he's also very humerus with it too;

    If the British public ever saw this Nigel Farage on main stream TV and radio, this man would be our next prime minister, instead of the crappy euro licking twits we have today,

    Argies ain the only ones with fools in charge,

    We hope the UKIP grows and grows,

    Nigel Farage is also very tough. I like him too. With the Americans and Europeans now certain to start WTO actions against Argentine ‘protectionist practices’ along with Spain planning reprisals, the economic future for my Andean neighbors looks somewhat bleak. I need to put together a shopping list to be ready when the Peso is again devaluated. #3 We have our share of fools as well, but we have a Chilean central bank that no one is foolish to mess with.

    Something else Chile has is a good work ethic. In my experience people work long hours and don't expect something for nothing. I respect that.

    I sincerely hope they do not go through another 2001/2, though it looks more likely with every bad decision the insane President makes.

    Well, that looks as though the EU/Mercosur trade treaty has just been booted into the long grass, I'm glad to say. Never wanted any of their biologically and chemically-treated garbage in Europe anyway. Even the chemicals they have to spray on their GM “crops” kill people. And other practices contaminate ground water so that “normal” crops are also highly suspect.

    Wonder how CFK is going to justify this to her Mercosur “partners”? Or will they finally realise that her only interest is advancing her illegitimate and invalid attempts to seize the Falkland Islands. Or, more accurately, the resources of the Falkland Islands.

    Future for the Falkland Islands if argieland were to gain control? (1) Forcible removal of existing inhabitants. (2) Desperate argie search for undersea resources. (3) Islands become a massive refining and manufacturing site, irrespective of environmental consequences.

    Worth wondering whether any Islanders forcibly removed would ever make it to a safe place. Compared to the numbers “disappeared” during “the Dirty War”, why would argies baulk at another 3-4,000?

    It is doubtful if any “compensation” would be paid to Islanders for their lost homes, assets or businesses. Argieland couldn't afford it and would therefore adopt the oft-seen (on here) assertion that they must be considered “illegal aliens” not entitled to compensation.

    @6

    Why are you focussed on the Argies getting hold of the Falklands (there are no Malvinas)?

    It matters not one jot what the Argies say because they cannot DO anything about it.

    There is no way their pathetic military can invade again other than the laughable plan to land an Argie airliner with 300 'crack' troops on the islands.

    Can you imagine what 3 Para would make of them? Pig swill I would think as there would be little left after they had finished with them.

    No, it's all bullshit, and they are running out of that. :o)

    I wouldn't have thought we'd have needed to bother 3 Para with this, we could give the RAF Regt there something to do, after all airport, er...airfield security is their business. ;o) LOL

    Yes, of course you are correct, but it would be good to let 3 Para finish off what they started in 1982. Tough bastards, those lads, love every one of them. ;o)

    So, the story thus far, the CFK politburo has recently upset the UK, Spain, EU, USA. Who's next in this diplomatic suicidal merry-go-round?

    'Don't trade with me Argentina, la, la, la' sung to the tune of 'Don't cry for me...'

    So the IMF don't like Argentina...seems like feelings mutual, no? =)

    I don't believe what Farage says, but I do believe that he believes it, which makes him better than most of the political class. But if you want a PM who is both honest AND has good policies, look to Bradford West =)

    LEPRecon. The RAF regularly excercise with this scenario. Any unauthorised aircraft is followed by by moile units the second it crosses the threshold of the runway. Before the aircfaft came to a stop, it would be surrounded from four points of the compass by MG's. Bearing in mind any assault force inserting from an airliner, would have to insert from exits and emergency exits, they would be cut to pieces. The easiest option would be to bring it down in the air, but I can not see any CO taking the risk that it is not occupied by some unarmed, half witted, nationalistic group, trying to create an international incident. The only way any half baked assault like this would have any chance of success, is if it managed to land undetected. Highly, highly unlikely. Remember the SAS were ordered to try this in 1982, their CO complained and was sacked. The troopers made out their will and prepared to carry out the attacks. Thank god someone saw sense and scrapped the plan and that was meant to be carried out using C130 Hercs. Like to have seen them find suicidal RAF crews.
