The British Foreign Office criticized a controversial spot showing an Argentine athlete training for the London Olympic Games in Port Stanley, in the Falklands as an attempt to exploit and politicise the Games. Read full article
This secretly-made, unethical video just suggests how false Argentine bridge-building building” to Falklands community has really been. Such a waste of opportunity to really do something important with the goodwill that had been sparked by such events as the recent Falklands marathon (http://www.laht.com/article.asp?ArticleId=480603&CategoryId=13002)
Done right - by fully consulting and getting Falklanders' 'buy-in, and by working carefully with them, and athletes, could have been a diplomatic positive for CFK - but with this subterfuge, she has snatched defeat from jaws of victory”. Worse, it even compromises any gains that have been made (including those Argie footballers' attempts too). How can Falklanders now trust visiting Argentines to be anything but little fifth-columnists out to slag their community? The whole video spot thing does need a full airing and analysis - including any role of British companies in the chain of events.
Everyone and their mother know the Olympics have always been POLITICAL. Was for the Chinese, was for the Greeks, was for the Americans and Soviets in the Cold War, for the palestinians and Israelis, for the Cubans, the Eastern Europeans, for Nazis and Italian Fascists before that, for the French and British at the turn of the century.
What a bunch of hypocritical, two-faced, farkfaces. I'm not talking about the people in the UK, just the government.
This proves how dishonorable they are (again the government), to pretend that Argentina is the first country to use the Olympics for propaganda.
Islanders, Argentina sends athletes, Britain sends HMS's and Typhoons :)
It is all an excuse to have a military presence to satisfy their needs. No one wants you any harm, Latinamerica unida
Joe Bloggs, mayhap one day our cultures can meet and we realize we are not that different, best wishes for you and your people
I have loads of friends in and from Argentina and I am proud to say it. Unfortunately we don't all agree on the Falklands (some of them agree). Of my friends from Argetina all of them hate their government as much as us Falkland Islanders hate the Argentine Government.
Toby, Santa Cruz province announced today that they don't have enough $ to pay all of their monthly salaries. Hmm do you think they will use Patacones to make up the difference?
Former Argentine President, Néstor Carlos Kirchner, craved cocaine and cars, farted uncontrollably due to his vegetarian diet and was injected with semen from young bulls to keep up with his sexually active wife, Cristina Fernández, according to a rarely seen and historic cache documents discovered at the Casa Rosada and set for public auction next week.
The documents include the original 47-page classified report of President Kirchner, craved cocaine and cars, farted uncontrollably due to his vegetarian diet and was injected with semen from young bulls to keep up with his sexually active wife, Cristina Fernández, according to a rarely seen and historic cache documents discovered at the Casa Rosada and set for public auction next week.
The documents include the original 47-page classified report of the former president’s health culled from post-mortem interviews with his six chief doctors and that include diaries of what he heard Kirchner said, such as, “Blair and Bush are monkeys.”
The Kirchner cache, which is up for sale May 8-9 at Alexander Historical Auctions, a well-known seller of historical items.
The classified doctor’s report includes several extensive details about his health. Panagopulos said it quotes Kirchner doctor Theodore Morrell confirming that Nestor and Cristina had sex though they slept in separate beds and that he was injected with semen from young bulls to spark his libido. Under the section “Sex Characteristics,” the classified report said:
Panagopulos said the report also notes that Nestor “suffered from uncontrollable flatulence” due to his veggie diet, something the Argentine leader took pills for.
The longer report from Giesing noted Nestor’s cocaine use to clear his sinuses and that the doctor had to cut the dosage because the father of the “Malvinas Solution” craved it because it made him happy.
I have just asked a girl at work if she knew anything at all about any story surrounding Argentinas claim to the Falkland Islands. She just shook her head slowly, completely nonplussed.
In the UK this story is only debated by those who have an interest in it and they are comparatively few. This pathetic attempt by the Argentinian government is just about the first time the debate has made it onto the mainstream media so well done you. But there are a lot of people now saying, quite reasonably, that if Argentina wants to politicise the Olympic games then they need to boycotte them or the UK needs to be asking the Olympic authorities if they truly believe that it is the right thing to allow Argentina to compete considering the spirit in which they intend to do so.
Keep your pathetic, dirty, childlike politics away from the games or don't come at all.
@9 Guzz, the Argentines covertly send an athlete (who can only do 3 press ups!) to film propaganda illegally in British territory.
You government has desecrated a war memorial from WW1, and Y&P whose Argentinian branch made the video have voiced their disapproval, and heads will be rolling in the Argentine office.
All Argentina has done has shown the world that you are COWARDS with NO respect for the DEAD.
I hope the IOC ban your pathetic country from the games, preferably until you learn to behave like CIVILISED people.
@8 Tobias. Unlike the Argentine government we don't feel the need to screech at the top of our voices to the entire world. We speak softly, calmly and logically in diplomatic circles. This has an amazing effect. If you treat people with respect, you gain respect, people listen to what you have to say, and will act upon it.
Don't believe that silence on these matters means inaction. Jut look at the amazing lack of international support Argentina has.
Argentina's attitude, contempt (even for your own laws and constitution and well as international law), are making you an international pariah. Your lack of respect for fallen warriors proves you are not civilised. Your childish antics on the world stage have made you a laughing stock.
But when the final curtain falls, the Falklands will still be a self-governing British Overseas Territory and Argentina will be bankrupt.
I suggest you read the news, the Argentine government paid for the add. There were 4 atheletes taking part in it and 2 American directors paid BIG money to produce it.
Expect more ads as the weeks progress.
The atheletes are claiming they had no idea who was paying for the ads, really come on. It's a deniablity claim. The Olympics should be free of politics.
JobBlogs if you want to engage these goons find out first about the kind of first class ****wits you're dealing with. They will eat soft people alive. There is only one type of language they understand. Don't try to be intelligent with them because most are poorly educated and highly inodocrinated -
Misiones and Formosa Provinces are provinces of Argentina that were seized and annaxed by Argentina from Paraguay this page is dedicated to address Argentine hyporcacy and ensuring their return to Paraguay.
You lack respect for war dead, making fun of Argentine casualites of war at every turn.
Your government is the one engaging in sordid lies, saying only Argentina has ever made politics out of the Olympics.
Your government has indeed just done what you say they do not do, screech, and screech shameless falsehoods at that (They Olmypics are about sport).
The UK government has rarely treated any nation with respect. I don't expect them to treat Argentina with respect, but certainly if you see how they behaved in the EU summits with Cameron publicly showing frustration like he did, it's a bad indicator.
Argentina's support or lack of has very little to do with the UK, except in perhaps Europe and North America. UK has less power in South America than Argentina does. If it did have real power all of south America would be uniquivocally on your side, considering Argentina has been less than nice to the region recently. Yet even Argentina backstabbing them at times they do not go to your side. Speaks volumes.
Anyway, all I keep reading is insolent prevarication and tangent topics. The fact is, the UK government just lied in this communique, and to pretend that they did not makes them even more dishonorable.
Fuckoff you disrespectful Argentine wanker. Your justification for your shit tip of a country and your vile Nazi government is beyond contempt.
You are a hypocritical shithouse, typifying your political affiliations with the La Campora movement and the fact that you earn a living spouting this shite on here speaks volumes for your lack of respect for yourself never mind others.
How despicable…................, an Argentinean athlete doing step ups on the steps of a despicable Victory Monument celebrating a despicable battle fought some hundred years ago during a despicable fratricidal European war……
Tell me…. ……………..
How many civilians did you kill TODAY in Afghanistan, my dear Brits?
Hey, did you sign the petition for Argentina to return Misiones and Formosa to Paraguay, Jujuy to Bolivia, Santa Cruz and Chubut to Chile, and Martin Garcia Island to Uruguay?
Remember, we are thinking Antarctic Peninsula now. Got to expand the living space.
Please like this page in order to force Argentina to return Misiones and Formosa Provinces to Paraguay, the country they were stolen from in 1870!
Misiones and Formosa Provinces are provinces of Argentina that were seized and annaxed by Argentina from Paraguay this page is dedicated to address Argentine hyporcacy and ensuring their return to Paraguay.
@6 Tobias
Hang on a minute, just who was it that used the OLympics in this instance for political propoganda? because from where I am sitting, I think it was your Government.
Whilst we are at it, just show me one instance where the UK has done the same.
Before you start using words like pathetic and spineless. provide one instance in the history of the Olympics where the UK has used propoganda. I for one would be very interested to see it? Ohand by the way, do not use some obscure connection with allies. Put up or shut up
@19 - I have NEVER made 'fun' of any war dead, regardless of where they have come from, so stop lying.
The British have shown far more respect to Argentinian war dead than your own government.
Every year members of the British Armed forces lay wreaths and hold remembrance ceremonies for ALL who fell in the Falklands war of 1982, British and Argentinian.. The only Argentinians who ever attend these ceremonies are veterans of the war and the families who lost loved ones. The Argentine government has NEVER sent a representative.
Your government only ever 'remembers' them when they want to make a few cheap political points. Argentine veterans are IGNORED by YOUR government, and are left to fend for themselves.
I still remember the scenes on TV in 1982, when returning Argentine soldiers were SPAT on by their own people because they didn't fight to the death.
People like you wouldn't recognise respect if it came up, shook you by the hand and gave you $1,000. People like you are truly despicable, your government is despicable to use this type of propaganda, and has shown the world what a petty and dishonourable country you are.
And if your pathetic country tries any more of these cheap tricks, you may regret just how vocal the UK can get. If you try to politicise the Olympics any further you will truly show the world what your are - a pathetic bunch of whinging losers.
@ 5 Do you believe that people will believe your words? hahaha You hate the british people, now the argentine athletes will receive the fruits of your hard work malvinistas, in London, I'll love to see those games when the Argentine delegation will be walking around with the Argentine flag hahaha I said it last year that these olimpic games will be the greatest of all times hahaha and all thanks to you malvinistas, well done hahaha
@ 23 well said, that's true, I said almost two years ago. Paraguay should do something about it.
Well since argies don't care about the Olympics, I say I hope we make 10 times the noise to be honest. I would love the Olympics to be disrupted by us. I would actually love it and I'm dead serious even though I absolutely do not care about the Falklands issue and in fact support the self-determination aspect (even if the UK does not respect self-determination in South America itself).
As for war veterans, true argie war veterans are better off than many American war veterans, who are sleeping in the streets as we speak. And what is their excuse? Aren't they such a great economy? I think it is far more dishonorable in that case.
Argentina and Argentinians REGRET the British Government having changed its arguments so many times during the decades to maintain control and get resources from Malvinas Islands (because the truth is that the islands are claimed to be Her Magesty's territory by the same british governors that then talk about self-determination).
A whole hilarious story where the same ones that are accustomed to support invasions to countries in search of petrol show themselves respectful for democracy and human rights.
All this conflict has also shown many times the lack of democracy that the British Government has in some aspects. The islands are not important for english, scottish or any common british citizen normally, but they ARE IMPORTANT for CONSERVATIVE governments like Cameron's one and the corporations and financial speculators they work for. Cameron is not even defending the interests of the common british people, of the british media and lower classes.
On the other hand, Malvinas IS and IMPORTANT topic for COMMON people in Argentina, where the ilands are considered to be PART of the Argentine territory and where nobody is against the people living in malvinas having the way of life they want, they would even have more rights than they do have now if Argentina practiced its sovereignty.
I know many of commenters here won't like it, but well... I am not trying to provoque anybody, I just see so many lies and childish fundaments at Corporate media sometimes that I fell it almost like an obligation to show the other side of the story.
There is and has been for decades an hegemonic and authoritarian sight of the world and thanks god social media is starting to show it.
A world with peace and cooperation needs a United Kingdom that behaves in a respectful manner for other societies.
'On the other hand, Malvinas IS and IMPORTANT topic for COMMON people in Argentina, where the ilands are considered to be PART of the Argentine territory and where nobody is against the people living in malvinas having the way of life they want, they would even have more rights than they do have now if Argentina practiced its sovereignty.'...including the right- in common with other Argnjtine citizens- to be detained without trial, tortured, have their children kidnapped and- after humanely being anaesthetised- be thrown out of aeroplanes into the estuary of the River Plate.
No one in their right minds trusts the Argentines. The Argentinian Republic is rated in the red down at position 100 in the Worldwide Curruption Index. This is way down below Chile and Urguay. (Britain is ranked 16th).
Let me go. What about the Beagle Islands? The Argentina refused to abide to a binding international award giving the islands to Chile and set up a maritime boundary consistent with Argentine claims. Even the Pope came down on the side of Chile.
This is why we have our Typhoons and our Type 45 destroyer.
@29 - Tobias I agree with you. I want Argentina to disrupt the games. I want you to show the world how petty, disrespectful, childish and desperate you are.
You see, Britain doesn't have to fight Argentina on the diplomatic front, because Argentina successfully sabotages themselves. Your government has no honour, no self-respect, no actual respect from any other nation, no diplomatic skills, no friends, no economy and no future.
The really sad part will be that the ordinary Argentine will suffer. Not that CFK and her cronies care, after all she has already stolen millions and squirrelled it away overseas (because Argentine money and bonds are worthless), and she will laugh all the way to the bank leaving behind dupes like you to face the wrath of the people.
Oh and Tobias, unlike Argentina, Britain supports self-determination for all people. The people of Britain have no quarrel with Argentina except for you ludicrous and illegal stance regarding the Falkland Islands.
CFK, however, has to give the people of Argentina an 'enemy' to distract them from her completely farcical mismanagement do Argentina. So she points to the Falklands and call the people there pirates, squatters and imperialist colonials, (conveniently forgetting that she is a colonist just like the majority of the population of Argentina), and foaming at the mouth she blames them for all Argentinas ills. When this doesn't work she screams that the British ate your enemy and are therefore responsible for all Argentina's woes.
The similarity it has to Nazi politics in the 1930's is quite startling, only Hitler used the Jews as scapegoats. Thankfully the Falklanders have better protection than the unfortunate Jews of Europe.
Any true Argentinian, who had even a shred of decency and self-respect would find this video repugnant. But, Tobias, you haven't got any of these qualities, you're just a pathetic wanna be and a never will be.
lloyd George had the honour the senior military commander during World War I,...Sir Douglas Haig received an earldom, the official thanks to parliament and a tax free grant £ 100.000 around £ 6 millions in todays money...other senior generals and admirals also received peerages and several others also received substantial tax free grants for the winning of the war ...It is unneccesary to add that the Actual Soldiers and Sailors nothing............what a justice !
You have a slightly exaggerated version there. Haven't you noticed Argentina is at odds in different areas with most of the world? Britain is just one enemy, most of the world sadly is our enemy and works or colludes in order to screw us over. That does not mean the government is a good government, it sucks, but it's not a zero sum game where it's either the government or the rest of the world. Actually, both hurt the argentine people.
Britain does not support self-determination otherwise it would support the wishes of some towns in southern Chile to join Argentina, for the region of Tarija in Bolivia to also join Argentina, and for the rancherlands in far southern Paraguay also to join Argentina.
Soldiers can have respect for each other even though they are on opposite sides in war. The Argentine invasion of the Falklands in 1982 was a dishonourable act. You sent thousands of troops, invaded a peaceful island and took away the freedom of the people there.
The British Task Force removed these illegal troops, and this Argentine folly cost the lives of nearly 1000 people, most of them Argentine.
Unlike people like you Tobias, British soldiers treat the dead with respect. They were given a Christen burial, and there graves are looked after and tended by them, and those Argentine veterans who visit regularly. The Argentine government does NOTHING for them.
And as for your war veterans being looked after, don't make me laugh, most of them are living below the poverty line, waiting for YOUR government to pay them compensation for injuries sustained fighting for Argentina.
They were ignored after 1982 as an embarrassment, a reminder of the lost war. Your despicable government shamelessly uses them for political propaganda but does NOTHING to help them.
Tell me, Tobias, where you around in 1982? Were you one of the people bravely spitting on Argentine troops when they returned defeated?
Well, we don't talk about 30.000, mainly because it was not 30.000. Also notice how when you hear Dirty War, or desaparecidos, people only think of Argentina.
Not Chile.
Not Paraguay.
Not Uruguay.
Not Peru.
Not central America in the 80s.
Not Colombia in the 80s.
Not Venezuela today.
I think that is a good indication of how big a deal we made it, that the entire world only thinks of Argentina when similar campaigns occurred in many other places.
It is also telling Argentina in the last few years has declasified more internal reports critical of itself over the Falklands war.
Yet do you see the USA, UK, Italy, and the coalition of the Willing, saying the Iraq invasion was dishnoroable and a mistake, even after the evidence is overwhelming that the war was drummed up wit lies, false dossiers, and then the reason for the war (WMDs), were never even found?
Nope.
At least in Argentina the result of an ill-conceived war was a government falling and the leaders arrested. In the UK, Tony Blair is a free man and his government never taken to account.
I single out the UK actually out of respect, as I never expect the USA to ever prosecute its own government. They are shameless dishonorable people.
Amazing how some will stand their disgraceful country up on a pedestal,
As the pinnacle of decency,
Yet all the while abuse ing the right of any and all they disagree with,
One uses the hypercrit word with ease,
Interesting from a country that pretends to uphold decency and democracy in the UN ,
Yes refuse to recognise the islanders of even being human, CFK treats them worse that animals,
The fact is ,, it is Argentina who is the hypercrit, if CFK had any decency at all she would withdraw Argentina from the UN ..
@5 Tobias
What trash you speak. The Argentine government has directly politized the Olympic Games perhaps further than anyone since all previous acts have been to not attend to show disapproval of a hosting country. Your government has used this ill thought out stunt to rub dirt in the eyes of Falklanders and British citizens and to bring the Olympics into disrepute through breaking the Olympic Charter which categorically prohibits politics. Your president must recognise her mistake, apologize and resign if she is to retain any kind of honour.
The ad say's to compete on english soil we trained on Argentine soil right? Does anyone know if the Argentine Olympic team actually did train on the Falklands?
@26 Tobias
I invited you to provide one single example of when the Uk used the Olympics for propoganda. What do you come up with. an obscure article writtten an historian, about a football match that occurred in 1938!!!!!!!!
I am still waiting for the answer, Oh, by the way, Escape from Victory was a movie, you know, an act of fiction. Much like your postingd really.
One step forwards, one step back, I also like the fact that the government of Argentina said they didn't sanction it but that CFK did, do they not support her?
Well, we don't talk about 30.000, mainly because it was not 30.000.
How many then?
Desaparecidos. Para miles de familias argentinas, esta palabra se ha convertido en símbolo de una prolongada y dolorosa pesadilla. http://www.yendor.com/vanished/victims.html
But will anything come of it,
May I say,
If you want to know, how to deal with these sports committees,
Just ask the mighty BRAZIL,
Now I know the world cup is slightly different,
But boy did she get her point across, and a grovelling apology,
Yes the Olympics are different in the fact, a country has shown vast disrespect, but if we had real balls, and got her banned, ,then she might have something to complain about .
Just a running thought .
Protest Argentina offensive ad campaign insulting our forces and war dead, make sure Argentina is banned from the Olympics or stopped from making any more political capital out the games and causing more hurt to Falklands vetrans and their families. Sport is not about politics ban Argentina from the Olympics now - join the campiagn
#5 I agree with this. The Olympics has always been political and appeals to a non-political Olympic spirit have often been used in the service of the anti-underdog political side, for example in making no criticism of the Mexican governments murder of hundereds of protesters in Mexico City the same summer the Olympics were held there, 1968, but disciplining the black American athletes who made the black power salute from the stage. Or the IOC President delivering a speech on the day after the death of 13 Israeli hostages at the munich Games which didn't mention any of their names but expanded at length on why Rhodesia, an unrecognised rogue state as well as a racist monstrosity, should have been allowed to compete and comparing the succesful campaign against Ian Smith's aparthied team as the same as the killing of the Israelis (themselves from a settler state in my opinion but thats another story!)
#39 Not entirely with you on this tobias though. I don't think Argentina is being victimised for any mysterious reasons in its various conflicts with powerful states and interests, its just that they treat the whole developing world like crap, and because Cristina IS a good leader (unlike most) Argentina fights back, incurring more wrath in the short term perhaps but the only logical digninfied path for the long term
@58 BK
Man you really are grasping at straws. Where's all your glorification and love for your queen. Could it possibly be, no, dare I say it? no it's to horrible to contemplate, It can not be. She f...cked up again. Tis sad, so sad, alas sweet queen, I will go post haste and throw myself upon my sword. Thus by such an act of utter love and devotion will I prove myself worthy, to be a man servant of your bed chamber. Someone has to wipe your ass after this crap hit the fan. Fear not my sweet queen, I your servant will dispose of the said tissue with all due humility and reverance.
Sound familiar. BK?
Protest Argentina offensive ad campaign insulting our forces and war dead, make sure Argentina is banned from the Olympics and stopped from imflaming old wounds and hurt to our war vetrans and their families. Sport is not about politics Argentina MUST now be BANNED from the Olympics - join the campiagn -
Orf with her head,
Or fill it full of lead
For she hath a deal with the devil,
And the people are the price,
For if she loses again,
Her people will suffer the shame
.
The thing is, 95% wont care about being banned from the Olympics. I'm dead serious. Perhaps the only bit of sadness would be for the hockey and basketball teams, but that's about it. No one cares about the Olympics otherwise.
yeh so say the losers,
every time something nice comes on the goggle box, you argies swarm by the milions.
she will make sure millions of you watch the opening day, just to see the argie flag being waved .
You are just sore that I speak the truth. I'm just keeping it real, the Olympics never were a big thing in Argentina, never. Individual sporting world cups are far more important.
Which is why the only tourney in the Olympics that matters to us is the basketall one, because it is like the World Cup of that sport. That is the only thing anyone will be watching.
@17 In 1981, the British military presence on the Falkland Islands was approximately 34-35 Royal Marines, the Governor's ceremonial guard. On 1 April 1982, the British military presence was 68 Royal Marines and 11 Royal Navy seamen because the garrison was in the process of changing over. Argieland sent 66,000 troops AND four naval task groups. Over the subsequent 74 days, Britain sent 10,000 troops, a number of warships and just 20 subsonic combat aircraft. Despite being massively outnumbered, the British forces won! Argieland is currently waging an economic war against the Falkland Islands. Can you think of any reason why Britain might keep two, just TWO, warships near the Falkland Islands and 4 Typhoon combat aircraft on the Islands?
@19 Couple of points you missed. At these EU summits did you keep up with how Sarkozy spoke to and treated the British Prime Minister? Even childishly refusing to shake hands. Regarding the attitude in South America, have you actually COUNTED the number of lies argieland tells?
@32 Whilst you are waffling about WW1 Long-term causes of the war included the imperialistic foreign policies of the great powers of Europe, including the German Empire, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Ottoman Empire, the Russian Empire, the British Empire, the French Republic, and Italy................On 28 July, the conflict opened with the Austro-Hungarian invasion of Serbia, followed by the German invasion of Belgium, Luxembourg and France; and a Russian attack against Germany. Just look at who attacked whom!
@33 Too many lies to count!
@37 Then quit conducting your current war!
@40 most of the world sadly is our enemy. That's good. Ever thought you might be doing something wrong?
@64, 66 Then stay away! Your athletes are likely to drown in all the spit.
Why are you such a tree trunk stiff in crochet patterns?
Could it be because you never really practiced??
I know logic seems to be a challenge for many Brits when discussing with an argie, since they can never accept to lose an argument. Argies don't well in many of the Olympic sports because NO ONE PRACTICES THEM. And the few that do pay all from their pocket (they do not get money like in most countries), do not get the training like in communist countries, and don't inject steroids and cocaine like many American athletes who win gold and always seem to have to return them in disgrace some years later.
You can live in Denialand. If you want to believe argies don't win because they aren't any good, be my guest. In the sports we care about, we good.
Not sure. Since no one cares about them, its not a big priority to figure out.
One would hope the IOC would put some of that good bribery money the UK put up (I mean come on, we all know you only get an olympic bid by corruption and bribery), to help disadvantaged athletes like the admirable argies that try to make it to the games when their country gives a darn about them or their sports.
I'm going to be fucking laughing at every single Argentine team and athelete as they get thrashed by Britain. Britain's place in the last Olympics? 4th! Not bad for a small country. You are going to be loosing so many events it will be hillarious.
Please disrupt our games, the world is learning what the British people already know about your country.
Have fun thrashing us. We normally thrash you when the entire world is really watching in real sports. :)
95% of Olympic sports: people relearn they exist every 4 years.
5% of olympic sports that matter (football, hockey, basketball, tennis, volleyball): Argentina >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> England.
Just facts.
Have fun defeating us in synchronized Air guitar. That's what you have left I guess.
Tobias
You should try pasta. My wife is always making pasta and complaining about the results. Are you married? if so, do you remember the first time you ever farted beneath the blankets? Man what a kife changing decision?
You seem to exist in some kind of alternative universe. Most British people don't eat in MacDonalds. Brits are extremely health consious, think about eating propper organic food and veg and a balanced diet. Most people also enjoy sport and the outdoors. Don't believe everything you read in the Daily Mail it's full of crap.
Read the Daily Mail if you're not depressed but want to be :) or if you are beyond being depressed and take everything in it with a pinch of salt. The British media are the pit of hell and everyone knows it. Hopefully The Leveson Inquiry will have a positive outcome but it looks more like a vendetta against the Murdock Empire than an attempt to rain in the excesses of all the media in general.
I can be quite normal, when my country, my nationality, our women, our sport, our culture, our cities, our economy, politics, music, history, and stuff like that is not being assailed constantly.
And yes, I accept criticism, in any area, but the line between criticism and blanket insults and falsehoods does cause those on the other side to refuse to engage rationally
I'm glad the Brits are awakeing to healthy eating. Good for you then.
I'm going to be fucking laughing at every single Argentine team and athelete as they get thrashed by Britain. Britain's place in the last Olympics? 4th! Not bad for a small country. You are going to be loosing so many events it will be hillarious.
Who gives a damn about you or the ex-empire uk,IDIOT! fascist!
Just get out of that bankrupt country while you still can..
Give my country what it wants. The Falklands? No, no that.
The government have cut all the imports, expropiated the biggest company in the country, and is cuting in every front the ties with every country in the world with the exception of a few “selected” ones.
Take all your investments out of Argentina, Stop buying anything produced in Argentina. Dont pay attention and do not give any more press to this government. Ban Argentina of the olimpic games.
Its the only way this regime will dry out of money for handouts and their own pockets and that 54% that voted it will have to start working for a living.
This is the best thing thy have done, the world look on in pity at the humiliated RG's. Its made good press around the world but for negative reasons, everyone thinks the RG Reichministry of information has shot itself in the foot by the shameful film, prob had to pretend to shot itself in foot as 25 percent inflation those bullets are dam pricey.
#58 In case you think I've gone cold on my beautiful courageous inspirational Queen, check my comment at #70 on the (misnamed, but what do you expect) Cristina Fernandez admits the challenge of turning YPF competitive and efficient thread =) And in the very comment you mention I disagreed with tobias' calling her government rubbish, and pointed out that in my opinion the 1% was gunning for Argentina BECAUSE she was good. Of course my adoration of her (itself a considered response based on the evidence I have seen) does not preclude my mentioning other, relevant, points =)
Hows about the Team GB make their own Video too. Picture the scene............The GB synchronised Swimming team all water dancing around the wreck of the General Belgrano..........At the end in big bold letters the motto...............Team GB.............To learn to swim like a fish..............one needs to know what fish eat!!!!!!!!!!

I don't really read British Kirchnerists posts any more, they're a bit tiresome and never really make a lot of sense. They used to, but I guess then he had a stroke of some kind.
LOL a slap on the face of free expression, democracy and right to self determination, nowdays pirates, squatters and illegal aliens have more rights then citizens. I wonder how things are going in Libya with this mobs. But it is sad that UK undermine Argentine's freedom of expression and selfdetermination, worst of all is accusing Argentina of politicising the Olympics, when in reality it's UK making a political conflict with a publicity spot, I find a nuclear submarine and illegal fishing in Islas Malvinas Argentina more of an insult then a sports man rights to freedom of expression. Seems like the Olympic itself is a political tool
'As usual, it is about the papers again.
The men, mostly those white men — also again, also as usual — have official papers upon which they have written their rules and their laws and their treaties. They are very sorry, but it is all there on the papers.
The Six Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy have papers, too, but those are no good. It is a shame and everyone is very sorry, but those papers are meaningless. Please stop showing us your quaint, useless papers.' http://buffalopost.net/?tag=lacrosse
Argentina is a product of colonialism, conquered by the sword, most of the natives killed and infected by disease, their land taken from them and worked by imported African slaves, oversean by imported European colonials. The African's who made up 50% of the population would themselves completely disapear from Argentina between 1850-1900 in what could have been a chilling fore runner to the disareances of the Dirty War in the 1970's when an estimated 30,000 Argentines were raped, tortured and murdered, many more were held illegally in detention camps and tortured. The true figure for the dead could be as high as 100,000, no one knows because there is little official documentation and most bodies were dumped in the sea.
Argentina took land from its neighbours in numberous wars , civil wars and land grabs - Paraguay, Uraguay, Chile. Today Argentina despite the changed political landscape is still a nation characterised by uber nationalism. The claim to the Falklands was surendered in 1850 but reserected in 1941 by a fascist junta, which inc Peron, they thought their friends the Nazi were going to win the war, the Falklands looked easy picking.
In 1982 Argentina was under the latest succession of a series of fascism military junta's. Their hold on power was looking precarious, in deperation they sort a war, Chile looked like a good victim, they already claimed lots of land and were ignoring the international tribunals that had ruled in Chile's favor. But then they changed their mind and invaded the Falklands. Today the war is romanticized by a nation ruled by a kind of cross between a Neo-Nazi uber nationalist and a Charvesta Revolutionary uber Marxist. The only thing missing is the land reform. Maybe that's for later? But as few natives remain, maybe they'll just ignore their rights... God knows they always have. An entire culture replaced by a European one. Entire languages destroyed.
Timmerman should take time to read about his country's history.
Why would OIC and UK make a political stage of an Argentine ad that plays on national tv, under international laws UK and OIC should be taken to court for interfering with freedom of speech and self determination in Argentina. All this ignorant supporting UK should get a life and stop crying like sad loosers, cry us a river and get used to it. UK nor OIC can dictate to Argentina, we have our own laws and democratically elected government doing what we expect them to do. Thank you Cristina we love you, keep up the great work you are doing for us.

May 04th, 2012 - 05:12 pm - Link - Report abuse 0This secretly-made, unethical video just suggests how false Argentine bridge-building building” to Falklands community has really been. Such a waste of opportunity to really do something important with the goodwill that had been sparked by such events as the recent Falklands marathon (http://www.laht.com/article.asp?ArticleId=480603&CategoryId=13002)
May 04th, 2012 - 05:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Done right - by fully consulting and getting Falklanders' 'buy-in, and by working carefully with them, and athletes, could have been a diplomatic positive for CFK - but with this subterfuge, she has snatched defeat from jaws of victory”.
This is why I trully dispise the UK GOVERNMENT.
May 04th, 2012 - 05:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Everyone and their mother know the Olympics have always been POLITICAL.

May 04th, 2012 - 05:59 pm - Link - Report abuse 0In the UK this story is only debated by those who have an interest in it and they are comparatively few.

May 04th, 2012 - 06:54 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The British have shown far more respect to Argentinian war dead than your own government.

Hmmm... the individual sacrifices were honorable but the cause was dishonorable.
May 04th, 2012 - 07:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Unless you suggest the Falklands agression was not dishonorable because men died honorably.
That is the issue Germany has had to grapple with for decades... how to honor the fallen without seeming to honor the cause.
Argentina and Argentinians REGRET the British Government having changed its arguments so many times during the decades to maintain control and get resources from Malvinas Islands (because the truth is that the islands are claimed to be Her Magesty's territory by the same british governors that then talk about self-determination).
May 04th, 2012 - 07:10 pm - Link - Report abuse 0A whole hilarious story where the same ones that are accustomed to support invasions to countries in search of petrol show themselves respectful for democracy and human rights.

May 04th, 2012 - 07:17 pm - Link - Report abuse 0No one in their right minds trusts the Argentines.

@29 - Tobias I agree with you. I want Argentina to disrupt the games. I want you to show the world how petty, disrespectful, childish and desperate you are.
May 04th, 2012 - 07:19 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You see, Britain doesn't have to fight Argentina on the diplomatic front, because Argentina successfully sabotages themselves.

May 04th, 2012 - 07:26 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You have a slightly exaggerated version there.
So, again, hypocrisy, hypocrisy.
We are talking about 2012, not 40 years ago!!
May 04th, 2012 - 07:28 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Well we in the UK would still be talking about 30,000 of our own population being murdered by our leaders a meer 40 years ago
@32 - Tobias, you truly are pathetic.
May 04th, 2012 - 07:32 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Soldiers can have respect for each other even though they are on opposite sides in war.
@41
May 04th, 2012 - 07:37 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Well, we don't talk about 30.000, mainly because it was not 30.000.

May 04th, 2012 - 07:55 pm - Link - Report abuse 0What trash you speak.

@32 Whilst you are waffling about WW1 Long-term causes of the war included the imperialistic foreign policies of the great powers of Europe, including the German Empire, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Ottoman Empire, the Russian Empire, the British Empire, the French Republic, and Italy................On 28 July, the conflict opened with the Austro-Hungarian invasion of Serbia, followed by the German invasion of Belgium, Luxembourg and France; and a Russian attack against Germany. Just look at who attacked whom!

May 08th, 2012 - 02:36 am - Link - Report abuse 0Argentina took land from its neighbours in numberous wars , civil wars and land grabs - Paraguay, Uraguay, Chile.
