Worse, it even compromises any gains that have been made (including those Argie footballers' attempts too). How can Falklanders now trust visiting Argentines to be anything but little fifth-columnists out to slag their community? The whole video spot thing does need a full airing and analysis - including any role of British companies in the chain of events.

Of my friends from Argetina all of them hate their government as much as us Falkland Islanders hate the Argentine Government.

The documents include the original 47-page classified report of the former president’s health culled from post-mortem interviews with his six chief doctors and that include diaries of what he heard Kirchner said, such as, “Blair and Bush are monkeys.”
The Kirchner cache, which is up for sale May 8-9 at Alexander Historical Auctions, a well-known seller of historical items.
The classified doctor’s report includes several extensive details about his health. Panagopulos said it quotes Kirchner doctor Theodore Morrell confirming that Nestor and Cristina had sex though they slept in separate beds and that he was injected with semen from young bulls to spark his libido. Under the section “Sex Characteristics,” the classified report said:
Panagopulos said the report also notes that Nestor “suffered from uncontrollable flatulence” due to his veggie diet, something the Argentine leader took pills for.
The longer report from Giesing noted Nestor’s cocaine use to clear his sinuses and that the doctor had to cut the dosage because the father of the “Malvinas Solution” craved it because it made him happy.

This pathetic attempt by the Argentinian government is just about the first time the debate has made it onto the mainstream media so well done you. But there are a lot of people now saying, quite reasonably, that if Argentina wants to politicise the Olympic games then they need to boycotte them or the UK needs to be asking the Olympic authorities if they truly believe that it is the right thing to allow Argentina to compete considering the spirit in which they intend to do so.

Don't believe that silence on these matters means inaction. Jut look at the amazing lack of international support Argentina has.

The UK government has rarely treated any nation with respect. I don't expect them to treat Argentina with respect, but certainly if you see how they behaved in the EU summits with Cameron publicly showing frustration like he did, it's a bad indicator.
Argentina's support or lack of has very little to do with the UK, except in perhaps Europe and North America. UK has less power in South America than Argentina does. If it did have real power all of south America would be uniquivocally on your side, considering Argentina has been less than nice to the region recently. Yet even Argentina backstabbing them at times they do not go to your side. Speaks volumes.
Anyway, all I keep reading is insolent prevarication and tangent topics. The fact is, the UK government just lied in this communique, and to pretend that they did not makes them even more dishonorable.

Every year members of the British Armed forces lay wreaths and hold remembrance ceremonies for ALL who fell in the Falklands war of 1982, British and Argentinian.. The only Argentinians who ever attend these ceremonies are veterans of the war and the families who lost loved ones. The Argentine government has NEVER sent a representative.
Your government only ever 'remembers' them when they want to make a few cheap political points. Argentine veterans are IGNORED by YOUR government, and are left to fend for themselves.
I still remember the scenes on TV in 1982, when returning Argentine soldiers were SPAT on by their own people because they didn't fight to the death.
People like you wouldn't recognise respect if it came up, shook you by the hand and gave you $1,000. People like you are truly despicable, your government is despicable to use this type of propaganda, and has shown the world what a petty and dishonourable country you are.

I would love the Olympics to be disrupted by us. I would actually love it and I'm dead serious even though I absolutely do not care about the Falklands issue and in fact support the self-determination aspect (even if the UK does not respect self-determination in South America itself).
As for war veterans, true argie war veterans are better off than many American war veterans, who are sleeping in the streets as we speak. And what is their excuse? Aren't they such a great economy? I think it is far more dishonorable in that case.

That is the issue Germany has had to grapple with for decades... how to honor the fallen without seeming to honor the cause.

Let me go. What about the Beagle Islands? The Argentina refused to abide to a binding international award giving the islands to Chile and set up a maritime boundary consistent with Argentine claims. Even the Pope came down on the side of Chile.
This is why we have our Typhoons and our Type 45 destroyer.

Britain is just one enemy, most of the world sadly is our enemy and works or colludes in order to screw us over. That does not mean the government is a good government, it sucks, but it's not a zero sum game where “it's either the government or the rest of the world”. Actually, both hurt the argentine people.
Britain does not support self-determination otherwise it would support the wishes of some towns in southern Chile to join Argentina, for the region of Tarija in Bolivia to also join Argentina, and for the rancherlands in far southern Paraguay also to join Argentina.
So, again, hypocrisy, hypocrisy.

The Argentine invasion of the Falklands in 1982 was a dishonourable act. You sent thousands of troops, invaded a peaceful island and took away the freedom of the people there.
The British Task Force removed these illegal troops, and this Argentine folly cost the lives of nearly 1000 people, most of them Argentine.
Unlike people like you Tobias, British soldiers treat the dead with respect. They were given a Christen burial, and there graves are looked after and tended by them, and those Argentine veterans who visit regularly. The Argentine government does NOTHING for them.
And as for your war veterans being looked after, don't make me laugh, most of them are living below the poverty line, waiting for YOUR government to pay them compensation for injuries sustained fighting for Argentina.
They were ignored after 1982 as an embarrassment, a reminder of the lost war. Your despicable government shamelessly uses them for political propaganda but does NOTHING to help them.

Not Chile.
Not Paraguay.
Not Uruguay.
Not Peru.

I think that is a good indication of how big a deal we made it, that the entire world only thinks of Argentina when similar campaigns occurred in many other places.
It is also telling Argentina in the last few years has declasified more internal reports critical of itself over the Falklands war.
Yet do you see the USA, UK, Italy, and the coalition of the “Willing”, saying the Iraq invasion was dishnoroable and a mistake, even after the evidence is overwhelming that the war was drummed up wit lies, false dossiers, and then the reason for the war (WMDs), were never even found?

At least in Argentina the result of an ill-conceived war was a government falling and the leaders arrested. In the UK, Tony Blair is a free man and his government never taken to account.

Or the IOC President delivering a speech on the day after the death of 13 Israeli hostages at the munich Games which didn't mention any of their names but expanded at length on why Rhodesia, an unrecognised rogue state as well as a racist monstrosity, should have been allowed to compete and comparing the succesful campaign against Ian Smith's aparthied team as the same as the killing of the Israelis (themselves from a settler state in my opinion but thats another story!)

I know logic seems to be a challenge for many Brits when discussing with an argie, since they can never accept to lose an argument. Argies don't well in many of the Olympic sports because NO ONE PRACTICES THEM. And the few that do pay all from their pocket (they do not get money like in most countries), do not get the training like in communist countries, and don't inject steroids and cocaine like many American athletes who “win gold” and always seem to have to return them in disgrace some years later.
You can live in Denialand. If you want to believe argies don't win because they aren't any good, be my guest. In the sports we care about, we good.

Brits are extremely health consious, think about eating propper organic food and veg and a balanced diet. Most people also enjoy sport and the outdoors. Don't believe everything you read in the Daily Mail it's full of crap.
Read the Daily Mail if you're not depressed but want to be :) or if you are beyond being depressed and take everything in it with a pinch of salt. The British media are the pit of hell and everyone knows it. Hopefully The Leveson Inquiry will have a positive outcome but it looks more like a vendetta against the Murdock Empire than an attempt to rain in the excesses of all the media in general.

Today Argentina despite the changed political landscape is still a nation characterised by uber nationalism. The claim to the Falklands was surendered in 1850 but reserected in 1941 by a fascist junta, which inc Peron, they thought their friends the Nazi were going to win the war, the Falklands looked easy picking.
In 1982 Argentina was under the latest succession of a series of fascism military junta's. Their hold on power was looking precarious, in deperation they sort a war, Chile looked like a good victim, they already claimed lots of land and were ignoring the international tribunals that had ruled in Chile's favor. But then they changed their mind and invaded the Falklands. Today the war is romanticized by a nation ruled by a kind of cross between a Neo-Nazi uber nationalist and a Charvesta Revolutionary uber Marxist. The only thing missing is the land reform. Maybe that's for later? But as few natives remain, maybe they'll just ignore their rights... God knows they always have. An entire culture replaced by a European one. Entire languages destroyed.
