Poor Malvinistas and Argtards. When this white paper becomes law no British government will ever be able to discuss sovereignty with you (not that they would've anyway). This white paper will breeze thought both houses of Parliament with little or no opposition.

Not only that, but it will enshrine in law the determination if the British government to protect the self-determination of all 14 Overseas Territories from aggressive interloper.

Yup, CFKs offensive has done nothing except strengthen the resolve of the British government and people to defend the rights and freedoms of the Falkland Islanders and the Gibraltarians.

    Well done, CFK. :0)

Love it, these poor Malvinistas have no idea of the concept of what a white paper is. I must admit, it has been a long time coming, our governments reply that is. Well at last here it is. I normally do not like watching live House of Commons debates, on this occassion, I will make an exception. I will also let my MP (know what one of them is malvanistas) Henry BELLINGHAM or as I like to call him, Henry BELLEND, how I expect him to vote on this issue.
Take heart FI's at long last legislation is coming your way!!!!

A White Paper isn't law, it's a policy statement, which may or may not lead to legislation, but never mind. I particularly liked the air of resignation exposed in the description of the C24 and why it goes on and on. If only BOTs would just ignore it and resist the UN expenses paid trips to New York....

    @12 - Lord Ton

Every time the Argentine crys to the world about British militarisation of the Falklands, they all laugh at you.

Remember Timerman at the UN? How they all managed to keep from laughing directly in Argentina's face is amazing. His describing HMs Dauntless as the Death Star was priceless. I'll bet the Russians and Chinese were bricking themselves. ”Oh no, the British have built 5 Death Stars (aka type 45 destroyers), it's all over, we may as well just wave the white flag now.”

When a country of 40 million people are intimidated by 1,200 military personnel, 4 fighters, 1 ship, and a man flying a search and rescue helicoptor, you really know that you've reached rock bottom.

This white paper will pass through parliament with little or no opposition, because all the main parties in the House of Commons (government and opposition) support the right to self-determination for the Falklands and the other 13 territories.

I suppose Argentina will have to keep on crying, but hopefully not for much longer, as you will all have more important things to worry about, like the imminent collapse of your economy.

Ha! The Argies have single-handedly ended any chance of negotiations with their aggressive and bullying stance. Their constitution has long barred any negotiations from taking place, but now ours soon will as well. This is excellent news - Cameron is finally showing some real tekkers.

@14 Agreed with you on that one.

CFK and her cabal of boot-lickers have done everything in their power to worsen relations with the islanders and spin it to enrage the Argentine populous and distract from her disastrous administration of the country.

What's really pathetic is she doesn't want to win, it would remove her most valuable political tool.

Not that is matters much now. Even with her encyclopaedia of lies and deflections, she cannot hide or blame anyone else for the escalating situation in Argentina. Though I'm sure she will keep trying.

It won't shut CFK up though.

I think the best use of the white paper would be to print off hundreds, fashion them into aeroplanes and aim them right in her eye every time she makes an appearance on the international stage.

Yes I thought that this white paper might do the trick, it will pass through the house quite nicely as everyone has said all party's will support the right to self determination for the Falklands and the other 13 territories that we have.

Now do you all see why I was not that bothered the other week when I was waylaid by the Argentine President? I actually knew that nothing that she could give me or say to me would be of any value and this white paper was on its way, so I just smiled at her and went on to a far more important meeting. Its so nice sometimes to be the prime minister of the UK.
    always here to help, Dave.

    Argentina has her constitution,

We have a white paper, that may or may not become law,

    Seems fair to me,

But it in no way does it says military force,

Its how others interpret it, and if CFK interprets it as aggressive, then that is CFK problem,
    Is it not.

The document provides clarity as to the UK's stance on the Overseas Territories.

Each territory has the innate right to self determination and should they choose, they can leave british sovereignty behind and all this is spelt out in the document. It leaves no doubt as to Britain's resolve in these matters.
Clearly argentine posters do not like self-determination as it is yet another nail in the coffin of the Las Malvinas Dream.

Funny to see the Brits celebrating Britain doing what they excoriate Argentina for doing, passing a “law against negotiations”. Except thats not what it is, in either case actually, and in any case laws can be changed post-negotiation. It looks like we missed a trick to deal with the tx haven BOTs like the Cayman Islands here though....

I don't know if you aware Mr BK but some of the comments that you have made seem to be in support of Argentina and its leaders rather then the United Kingdom. Some of these comments also sound very seditious and dare I say, 'Anti-UK.' I hope you are aware of the laws of the land, and some off the older acts of the British Parliament, which by the way you comment would technically label you a traitor. Please don't be stupid and Side with CFK and her incoherent friends.

This shows that the Argentines by increasing the tension have stuck a stick in a wasps nest which they keep ramming as hard as they can.It would have been better to have made a wasp trap, not that the wasps would have been lured into it. The problem with this is now the wasps are now swarming out and attacking the Argentines flawed history and claims, very accurately and with vigour.

The Falkland Islandersand UK are at last playing the Argentines at their own game and winning, exposing the Argentine myths that really should have been challenged a long time ago, instead of being accepted falsely as an embarrassing fact, (mainly by the UK who never even bothered to research history that shows the Argentine claims on the Falklands to be farcical). In fact I find it amusing that the more the Argentines utter patheticisms, the more opportunity it gives for the once invisible, silent Falkland Islanders to state their case. To be fair to the F I's the UK has not backed them up enough in the past, and however bad the UK government is at running the UK, its support of the Islanders accepting they are in the driving seat, and supporting them more vigorously than any UK government in living memory is the right way to go.

Argentina will not get them full stop,
So if her deluded bloggers want to carry on snapping at our feet like little mongrels, that’s there problem.

    The fact is,=
No free democracy has ever been freely given over to a dictatorship,
    And it will never happen,

More likely is the break up of argentina into 3 sections ,
i.e. 3 independent countries, and this will greatly help, and reduce the doctorial powers of little wannabies like CFK ..

    @41
“So do you mean that unemployment, homeless, slums, poverty, etc has not impact on anyone?”
I never said that Mr Berger, but this crisis is impacting the entire world, what I said is that we British in accordance with our stereotype don't panic at the first sign of trouble, we complain and become worried but mostly we don't care, its just the way we are in the British Isles, even during the troubles here in Northern Ireland people did not panic, heads remained high and people carried on.

“Ask your businessmen, worker and students. Then come back.” Despite the crisis our business is doing rather well, people are buying our bonds so much that many have a negative yield.-Good thing. Manufacturing is starting to grow after years of decline, and in terms of debt the UK is a AAA grade-we pay of our debts. However student tuition fees were a catastrophe and Im outraged by it.

“By the way are another retired ex soldier living of pension?”- No I have plans to join the Royal Navy in the future, however I'am still a keen Military enthusiast and I deeply admire Military History/tactic's etc.

@42 Conor (#) come on student fees are not that bad ?! If your studying at university then you are expected to earn a much greater salary, so paying for that isnt really that bad. I would much rather pay that than the gov. cut other things further. Besides you have to pay back some ridiculous amount back weekly (something between 50p and £2), and its taken before you get paid so you wont even realise.

As for your other comments they are true.

@43 DanyBerger (#) No thats London you fool. The death toll was 5, compared to the thousands in the Arab spring. And also it was nothing to do with cuts, the poor, or social injustice. Rather a certain 'class' of youths, and their desire to nick stuff.

Not as bad as this, where your president had to flee....
