“Argentina will be responsible for the end of Mercosur” claims top Brazilian businessman
Brazilian businessman Rubens Barbosa, head of the foreign trade council of the Sao Paolo Federation of businessmen said on Sunday that in the last six months, the Argentine presidency of the bloc implemented measures that practically killed the Mercosur.

Yes, Mercosur will perish. Mercosur in its original form will perish, and thank God it will. From the ashes a new Mercosur will rise, a Mercosur not intended to fill the pockets of the rich. A Mercosur that protects its natural resources from sellouts and its market from being flooded with cheap goods, killing the local production. If Argentina is the one responsible of this happening, I thank my neighbours whole-heartedly :)

And if he can see, so can a lot of other businessmen, whose job it is to make profit for their shareholders and themselves. So when people stop investing in countries belonging to Mercosur, their economies will suffer, and Mercosur will collapse and it won't be pleasant.
It's probably best for Brazil to get out know before the ship starts sinking. But 'politics' won't allow them, and Argentina and Venezula will drag everyone down with them.
Mercosur would be a trade block of 264M people that now includes oil in large quantities, assuming Paraguay would leave... I don't see how this weakened Mercosur...

No it is not just Argentina, protectionism, border blocks, and shouting that will end Mercosur, it is also the Bolivarian imperatives that underpin Mercosur's Venezuela with its ALBA (Alianza Bolivariana para los Pueblos de Nuestra América) group of nations.

When I went to school I was battered by the “Malvinas son Argeninas” thing by my teachers until I really thought it was true, then as I grew up I noticed that it was only trotted out by the government of the day when something started to go wrong, usually after a military coup. That is when I started studying up on the subject and found that all I'd been taught in school was rubbish.
I really think that a lot of Argentines have come to the same conclusion.

Sussie, TTT, Hunter etc, you fail to fundamentally understand, you try and contour me on my argument about Argentina's past, yet you fail to realise that you by the crap that you spout have no rights, to the land you occupy, you all say (TTT exempt) that the Falkland islanders have no rights to their islands as they are implanted, while you lot fail to realise that you are implanted as well, Mr Hunter I doubt you are a native, and even if you are, you are no doubt European related.

Yeah us Europeans, were do you think your Spanish language and mostly European based political/cultural lifestyle come from? Did it perhaps fall out of the Sky? Maybe the natives phoned up the Spanish/Portuguese and requested that their lifestyle would form the basis of a future nation called Argentina? No we Europeans arrived with our technology and we said to ourselves “oh this would make a nice piece of civilisation for his Majesty.” “Hey you native man with spear, you work for us now.”

Protectionist policies between Argentina and Brasil are killing off businesses in Argentina: Small fruit growers in Río Negro and Neuquén, olive oil producers in La Rioja and San Juan, car producers in Córdoba, just to name a few. These businesses employ thousands of people who are now losing their jobs, so BK where the hell is your socialism?
Kretina and Dilma are throttling their own supporters, is that what socialism is all about?
I thought it was about distributing wealth to all classes, not distributing poverty to the lower classes and money to the ruling elite!!!

Sir your English is poor and the structure prevents me from understanding what you are saying.
If you are asking why the My nation was fighting with her sister nations well there's many reasons for that, power, supporting allies, the desires of monarchies, wealth, religion, imperial desires etc. Why were we fighting in the middle east?
er....number of similar reasons that have been mentioned however could you please re word your question? I can't quite understand.

I once lived in Argentina for a couple of years, have a large number of well educated Argentino friends with whom I am still in touch and visit once or twice a year.
Based on their opinions you are not alone.
Most of them say “up your with those bloody islands, we have all the natural resources we need, but we don't use them - let's solve our *real* problems.”

Thank you for e wording Mr Berger as to the fast part of your comment I have already answered. We europeans fought against one another for some of the following reasons; “power, supporting allies, the desires of monarchies, wealth, religion, imperial desires etc.”
If you were wondering why I used the term “White trash Europeans” this was an insulting phrase used by Mr Pirat-Hunter who used it and spoke out against colonialism, despite being so supportive of Argentina a country which was created by these same people through the same process. Does that answer your question?

Mr Berger, I myself and the world respect Argentina's right to exist as a colonially created country so I would expect you to give the same treatment to the Falkland's Good day sir.
