In a further attempt to prop the economy and promote investment funding Argentine President Cristina Fernández, CFK, announced on Wednesday that via the Central Bank, “the twenty A-class banks in the country will be obligated to give out loans,” in order for investment to be made on goods and services.”
The announcement was made in the evening at the Government House, following the President inaugurating a new pasta factory in Greater Buenos Aires area of Chivilcoy by videoconference.
“The State is intensely confident in our businessmen, the President stated.
It’s clear to see, by the level of investment made in businesses that the State has the most confidence in them.”
“Private banks seem to not have very much confidence in businessmen, because they give out more consumer loans” Cristina Fernandez emphasized during a televised speech.
Cristina Fernández was leading a ceremony at the Government House, after cancelling a trip to Chivilcoy, where she was expected to inaugurate the pasta production line of Molinos Cánepa in person. The trip was cancelled due to poor weather.
Buenos Aires province Governor Daniel Scioli and Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo, Chivilcoy mayor Aníbal Pitteli and Los Grobo owner Gustavo Grobocopatel were also expected to take part in the ceremony.

Disclaimer & comment rulesNot even clear what this article means, are the banks going to be forced to lend to business - or they will be forced to lend if they want investment from government?
Jul 05th, 2012 - 08:40 am 0If only they did the same in Britain, here they coddle the banks while their refusal to invest keeps us in recession, as if finance capital was more important than having an economy that works for anyone else. Good to see Cristina showing the way as ever. And a nice picture =)
