Of course they are willing to talk, the day it rains money they'll all be looking like Quasimodo, jumping in their attempts to get something in there :)

It just goes to show, how in desperate times
    , mean desperate decisions .

And the EU may well be desperate,

EU will talk to anybody they might trade with, Duhh! isn't that's why they're there. Doesn't mean they are going to sleep together or share nice hot showers together till the wee small hours of the morning.

EU will negotiate trade bloc deals 'on a region by region' basis.

    how big is a 'region'?

    Perhaps Brasil+Uruguay? Meat
    Perhaps Argentina+Paraguay? Soy
    Perhaps Venezuela+Brasil? Oil

Or perhaps even an 'across-bloc' trade deal, depending on the commodity:
Perhaps Chile+Argentina for wine, gold, etc???

    Time for pragmatism.

    One day,
The world will work for the betterment of each other and a happy and safe society,

    Rather than at the moment,
for the betterment of the rich greedy and powerful, at the determent of the poor.

i think region to region is the most important part.

Deals with Brazil and Uruguay ignoring the idiotic parts of mercosur

Good to see the EU accepting and being pragmatic about the reality in Mercosur and Argentina, even if some of their ideological supporters on here do not! Nice picture of Cristina btw, she looks so happy =)

#9 I believe that too. Thats why I support the Latin American left who are moving closest to that new world in the world today
