The conservation status of the Falkland Islands Black-browed albatross could be down listed from endangered based on ground and aerial surveys carried out in 2010, ACAP* Coordinator Anton Wolfaardt reported to the Falklands’ Environmental Committee. Read full article

And before the Arg folk start up - In S Georgia fisheries the same mitigation systems apply - but - the birds migrate in winter towards S Africa and thus cross a rich trawler fisheries in open international unlicensed waters around the benguela current - that is sadly where they die!
