Brazil and Chile have seven universities among the top ten in Ibero-America according to the 2012 QS World Ranking, including Sao Paulo and Catholic university of Chile ranked one and two. Read full article

    Good showing by Argentina I think, to be better than most unis not just in LA but Spain and Portugal too

    Spain and Portugal are not included. Spain would dominate the top 10 if that were the case.
    It is actually a poor result for Argentina without a single university in the top 10.
    It is an outstanding result for Chile. A country with 17 million people out performing every other country on the continent.

    The rate Top Unis vs population put Chile as the n° 1 by far in LA.....It will be better next years with the changes that are being made to improve the teachers quality, to check deeper our educational system and lowering the credit cost for the students (but no as a gift, of course) .....Probably, the fact that the Unis have a high cost means that the students take its careers with more responsability and effort getting better results. And soon, new private ruled Unis will be within the tops also....
