A great show of unity, good to see the Falkland folk taking time out to enjoy The Olympics and cheering on their GOLD medal winning team!!
so much for Argtards accusation of The Falklanders being british hostages, they look pretty happy to me and why not the futures bright.

@2 Yes, the British team is popular. They achieved success by training rather than taking part in failed publicity stunts backed by a deranged leader. Wonder what Moyano would be like as Argentine president? (I'm asking as I have no idea).

And the current tally for Great Britain and Northern Ireland is:
    26 Gold, 15 Silver and 17 Bronze. Total 58.
The best-performing South American team is Brazil with a total of 12.
Argentina has 4. Venezuela has 1.
In fact, the whole of South America has managed to acquire a grand total of 25.

@11 You're an Argentine, aren't you? How do you get to be an Argentine and a gentleman? Are you a priest?

@13 just another 27 Gold medals to go and you will have reached Team GB or another 5 to reach kazakhstan even 1 more for azerbaijan.
but yeah, well done to Argentina and to their dominant performance, its the taking part that matters not the winning, however a little critizism next time train on your own soil, that way you will do better than just taking part and finishing a lowly 41st with a handful of consolation medals.

“To watch an argentine boil, you have to reign on Falkland soil” Mwahh!!!

@11 I really thought you had a chance of a bronze in the Basketball; such a close match in the end.

The Argentine supporters gained a reputation of being fun and enthusiastic. Let's hope the Argentine government invests in their athletes so they can give a good performance at the 2016 games at Rio.

Sport here is amateur. So its a real great job and spirit all what our sport people did.
I thought UK was able to win the football golden medall, easily without good teams with wich compete, but, er.....not even the bronze
And very beautiful colours and designs of our jackets and tshirts.

@18 sport amateur? great job? yet all argentina could muster is a handful of medals. what does that say about Argentina? i dont think they do medals for sports kits and they certainly didnt help your performance any.

@18 umm... Malen, the VAST majority of sports at the olympics are amateur. There were some very good teams at the Olympics, and Great Britain went out on penalties. It's not as though they were outplayed by South Korea. In my opinion, considering how little time they had together and the controversy surrounding the team's very existence, they performed with credit and did well to get as far as they did.

@17 Beauty? Tell you what, I'll pay for your next optical check-up. Eloquence? A bully is never eloquent, just a bully. She should leave the Falklands alone.

@17 That's made me laugh, so ironic, a marvellous piece of hyperbole-thanks BK, humour is not dead.

Sport here is SO amateur that the Government demands that the athletes export some local product to be able to import the equipment they need to train!!!!

It strikes me that if they had really trained on British soil to compete on British soil, our athletes would probably have done a great deal better, because they would have immediate access to the equipment they lacked by training in Argentina!!!!

I really can't make up my mind if BK is being serious or ironic with his statements about CFK. It's hard to belive that he is being serious but if it is the latter his dedication to irony is impressive.

Yes, Benson, he produces some finely honed ironic humour. I have had many a huge laugh out loud at his postings.
It's hard to believe that he is being truthful, his humour is so consistent and so perfectly balanced ... the sort of mind that has spent a fair number of years as a British civil servant.
