The Royal Navy’s Type 45 destroyer HMS Dauntless arrived last week to the Falkland Islands in the last leg of its six month deployment in the South Atlantic, spending most of the time along the West African coast. Read full article
So much for the militarisation of the South Atlantic by Dauntless-it seems to have spent most of its time on diplomatic visits.
@1 Lol! I bet all the good people of the Falkland Islands and members of HM forces are living in a' continual nightmare', dreading that by 2016 that 40 'Pampers' will be ready.
I hope they are absorbent.
Hang on - Angola? Where CFK recently visited and declared the usual blah about the de-militarisation of the South Atlantic, strong declarations of blah about support for Argentine blah over the Maldives along with assurances from Angola that zzzzz.......
So that was a completely wasted trip then, yeah?
@5 Of course it wasn't a wasted trip. It seems that a lot of her overseas trips are for the purpose of checking out suitable palaces for her retirement. Come to think of it, might that be where the US$6 million recently and mysteriously disappeared from her assets statement has gone?
only argentina can come up with new, of the shelve pampers,
and real find pilots to sit in them.
Still
A nice soft bum, for a nice soft landing .
And no skid marks lol
Oh dear! TMBOA is going to scrweem and scrweem until she has her aneurism she has worked herself up for: I'm still hoping it's sooner rather than later.
What about the 61 (I think from memory) Argie aircraft shot down?
What about a force, a mere fraction of the 85,000 of your so called 'troops' who, having sailed half-way around the world almost, managed to kick your arses off the Falklands (there are STILL no Malvinas)?
Forgotton that little bit did you? Using your analogy, the Brits were David and you bunch of tossers were Goliath.
@13 Her Majesty's Ship Dauntless can destroy the entire argie air force (joke) by itself. Want to try her out? Shall we send another Type 45? 2 or 3 British submarines could destroy Buenos Aires City. Should we try? One Vanguard class submarine could destroy Buenos Aires Province. Shall we send all four?
Reminder: 1982. 11,313 resilient and brave argie prisoners. Here's another thought for you. On the day of the cesspit invasion, a number of Royal Marines, all armed, moved out of Stanley to continue UK resistance. Any argie finks move out to continue the battle, did they? Not one single slimeball. Only to pleased to drop their weapons. Argies. Sh*te in a bucket with a hole!
#6 Well IF she was checking out places for her retirement, THEN it was a wasted trip, as she'll be in office for two or more terms to come. At least thats my hope =)

By the way, an anthology of War poetry, Malvinas/Falklands related, by Argentine, British and American poets, collected by the American poetess Ms Sue Littleton, will be presented in Buenos Aires on the 23rd inst. at 'El Ateneo Grand Splendid' on Santa Fe Av.@ 7.00 p.m. Should you want to attend, entrance is free and gratis, no booking, first come first served, subject to available room.
All poems in the book are in Spanish, some as the original language they were written on, while others are translations of poems in English. It is not easy to translate poetry, even your own, and much grip can be lost especially at the turns of phrase, but that was a precondition to participate. Two of my own in English, included thereon, are my translations into Spanish, and I will be the appointed reader of these and others from other authors!

However@ 13,I cannot logically agree that Argentina was the 'David' as there were only about 80 RMs defending Stanley against 1000s of ' Goliath' Argentine soldiers.
You'd better let Timidman , Putrid Jelly and Scrotum neck know then as they've made a big fuss about Dauntless. You can put their minds at rest Sussie (heh heh).
