The incorporation of a major oil company is a sign of confidence in the future of the Falklands hydrocarbons industry and by any standards “absolutely fantastic”, said the Islands governor Nigel Haywood during an official reception at Government House for Rockhopper Exploration and their UK partners Premier Oil. Oh course the Falklands are a safe bet at least compared to their neighbour.

They're not ruled by self-serving politicians, with an insane bint in charge, threatening to 'nationalise' them and steal their profits.

I hope things continue to go well with all their ventures. Had Argentina stuck to their past agreements over fishing and stopped bullying the islands, they too 'could have' had a part to play in this. onr reaps what one sews.

Absolutely right British Lion, unfortunately the Argentine National Socialists shot themselves in the foot. In time they will get over it mainly because they have no other option.

It's probable that the oil companies see TFI EEZ as providing a higher RoR, now that South America seems to be following Brasil's lead and funnelling all oil contacts with foreign companies through the nationalised 'oil company', severely limiting the foreign oil-take and profit.
This may be astute or mistaken.

This is all happening as Argentina struggles to get investment and partners to extract oil from its own territory.

Still, you get the politicians you deserve.

This vote of greed will not look so good in the long term, South America isn't going to just sit by while these companies siphon off their oil

@6 Hilarious. South America can sit down, lie down, stand, do a jig. Makes no difference. There's NOTHING the retards can do.

@6 'Vote of greed', don't make me laugh! Who is being greedy? The islanders and their Government along with oil companies investing in exploration and then extraction are exploiting the minerals within their own territory. All the other South American Nations can do is sit back and watch how to do things correctly without corruption, greed and political chaos shown to them by a tiny group of people with British heritage and a will to survive with an aggresive neighbour that keeps on and on bullying and threatening their every advance into a rich and prosperous future. I would say they will get the green eyes of the deadly sins of greed and envy and try and spoil for a fight, but, hey, what do we care, they had their chances, now they can watch and weep. F**k them!

Absolutely no one with the exception of Venezuela is interested in helping the Argentine government search for oil. The rest of South America only pays Argentina lip service when they cry out with 'the Great Malvinas Lie'. The UK invests more money in Brasil than any other country with the exception of the US.

BK - This oil is certainly in South America and belongs to the people of the South American territory of the Falkland Islands. How can South America be angry at fellow South American residents doing well for themselves.

Or are you just a jealous Argie with a chip on your shoulder?
