Chile is planning a 2013 budget with a tendency growth of 5% and an average long term basic copper price of 3.06 dollars the pound revealed finance minister Felipe Larraín together with Rosanna Costa, head of the Budget Office during a presentation before Congress. Read full article

funny... while the INDEC trys everythink to fake stats in its own favour, the Chilean Central Bank applies understatment in their budget calculations. The copper is arround 3,5 since a long time, but they calc with quite “conservative” 3,02 and 3,06 Dollars to be on the secure side... at the end, we are being rewarded with better results than expected.

Good luck to them. I don't wish Chile any harm just because its government is right wing and unresponsive to the wishes of its own people on education. The better the economic conditions when the left come back the easier it will be for them to fulfill the people's real needs and desires

the conservative government seems responsive to the wishes of the own people, that has been proven in the latest polls showing recovering of the peoples approval of the current politics. Seems that the people are very tired of the artificial and excessive, unjustified student riots blocking schools to students who WANT to continue learning.
Especially considering that 17,5% of granted scholarships are not even used!

This is a Gvt. that acomplish its own campaign promises....even in the adecation system with more funding than ever, new institutions to rule the area and modifications that will help to change the level of the new teachers students at the Unis with more expectations, earnings and social recognition.....
In the economics, 50 years ahead over the Kirchnerist way to rule a country.....we are growing at safe steps from 2010 and on with a real high rate, low inflation, low unemployement, good investiment, low corruption, etc., better as we were during the 20 years of the “Desconcertacion” ruled times.....
The two most known polls have been showing in its three last deliveries a continued grow of the recognition by the population to the President, his Gvt. and his Ministers and a fall in the reprobation of his policies and management. In the other hand, the “Desconcertacion Team” showed a poor 14% of aceptation in the same polls.....
