    Now this article is the definitive PROOF of how blind hatred leads one to become.

    Here we have an article blaming Argentina for somehow overfishing... yet buried in the middle of the article:

    “ccording to the data provided by the CTMFM, landings in the ZCPAU totaled 39.056 tons: 35.833 tons for the Uruguayan fleet and 3.223 tons for Argentinean vessels.”

    So shoudn't Mercopress be demanding Uruguay stop the overfishing?

    No doubt the rest of the anti-argie troll biomass will come here and ignore what I just wrote above, which is not my opinion but indisputable fact, and still blame Argentina.

    That will also be definitive proof of how obsessed they are with us.

    All in all, this article has already been eminently useful.

    The article references “the northern hake stock” - captures should not exceed 72.000 tons in 2011.

    Argentina = 43.461 tons
    Uruguay = 35.833 tons

    We need to sort out nothing. The only proven extinct species on what is today Argentina, Uruguay, and the Falklands became extinct neither in Argentina nor Uruguay.

    Sort that out and then come to us with some shred of moral standing.

    Merluga is a great tasting fish, but, when I realised the extent of its overfishing, I stopped eating it.

    So we can safely say, that this problem of over fishing has nothing to do with the falkland Islands then?

    That the whole problem has been caused by greed, Greed from the Argentinean fleet and greed from the Uruguayan fleet.

    And, if you had all lsitened to what the Falkland Islanders have been saying for YEARS about sustainable fishing. Then this would never have happened.

    Well said @11 the same is going to happen to the squid. The saying goes.... Don't cut of your nose to spite your face. Argentina can't understand this.

    You people should not even be allowed to live on the islands, you brought a native mammal to extinction (the only mammal!), that should be sufficient grounds to set up an international court.

    TTT, your rant against the Mercopress article is ridiculous, as usual; the ONG CeDePesca is an ARGENTINE organization which wants to protect an ARGENTINE resource!!!! Do you understand?

    As to the 2011 catches for Uruguay and Argentina:

    Argentina outside the ZCPAU: 43.461 tons
    Argentina inside the ZCPAU: 3.223 tons

    Argentine total catch 2011: 46.684 tons
    Uruguay total catch 2011 : 35.833 tons

    Total allowable catch 2011: 72.000 tons

    Uruguay therefore is within allowable catch limits, whereas Argentina is 10.684 tons above her allowable catch limit.

    When we are in the wrong we should learn to admit it, TTT, that would be an indicator that we are a mature society, unfortunately we never admit we are wrong which shows the world that Argentine society is still in nappies!!!!!

    You've demonstrated more hatred then the rest of the posters on this thread combined.

    Mercopress didn't make this story up. They are reporting what the Argentine organisation CeDePesca have said to the Argentine Fisheries authorities. The figures you used to try to discredit the story were not the full ones.

    What on earth has the warrah got to do with this?

    None of those in Argentina!!

    Argentina is not South America! Perhaps we should assign the Falklands to be responsible for all extintions in all islands, starting of course with the dodo.

    Not sure what that means... balance of nature? I doubt people intentionally set out to exterminate a snail, it must have been environmental conditions. You can't deny the Warrah was intentionally exterminated. Simple, really.

    You know what the balance of nature means. Anyway, I couldn't give a shit about any of this. I was merely proving that your post at 6 was false.

    I have to go to sleep. Just a few more meetings to go in London and then my work here is done for a while. I'm not pleased with tomrrow's schedule though: no time for a visit to the gym. The best I can manage will be a 4 km walk in my suit. Only trouble is it's going to be in the mid-20s.

    Can't wait to get back to the islands via a very interesting detour and more meetings down south.

    Goodnight Yeti.
