Brazil confident it can organize an Olympics as successful as London’s
Hosting the Olympics two years after staging the World Cup was always going to be a big task but the success of London 2012 has raised the bar even further, according to Brazil's deputy sports minister Luis Fernandes. Sep 12th, 2012 - 06:40 am - Link - Report abuse 0Yes and no. The infrastructure was not entirely in place. London spent £7 Billion on transport infrastructure for the games. This was essential for the games but also for the long-term future of the site. The Olympic Park was built on a former industrial wasteland from scratch. It will continue as a community with housing (50% affordable), facilitates, good transport links to the centre of London, shops and restaurants. It has regenerated a rather forgotten part of London.
Transport for London have been hired by Rio to advise on the transport logistics.
Rio will have a wonderful games, I'm sure, that will display the uniqueness of Brazilian culture.

It will either go A: start okay/well but went wrong during the olympics and end up disappointed or okay after all... (Atlanta), B: it will be good or end in a disaster (Athens)..or C: it will be good and end up succesfully (Barcelona).
