Argentina's 12-month inflation expectations held steady for a seventh consecutive month at 30% in September, according to the median estimate in a survey published by the Torcuato Di Tella University, UTDT. However after three steady months expectations eased with the average response sliding to 34.9% from 39.8% in August. Read full article

Sep 19th, 2012 - 11:42 am - Link - Report abuse 0The IMF have no idea what to do with the financial errant child that is Argentina.
The three months is as much for the benefit of the IMF as it is leeway for another stunt by TMBOA.
As Elaine stated in another post, and I agree. I think IMF is making sure they give Argentina more than enough chances to straighten their act before they drop the hammer. They last time they gave them too much much to readily.
Sep 19th, 2012 - 12:17 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Argentina must now produce real numbers or face censure, the first one to every be censure. So their government inflation numbers will rise steadily and peso drop in value over the next three months, or they will be out of the international trade markets, expect for maybe N.Korea, Syria and Iran, and neighboring countries that are experiencing recession also.
Could you imagine trying to live when inflation is running at over 30% You'd need a hand to mouth existence - saving money would be pointless. I think I'd buy a safe and buy precious metals - or is that not allowed either?
Sep 19th, 2012 - 12:58 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Does that mean you can transfer money via PayPal as an Argentinian from an Argentine account to another citizen in another country, thus change peso to dollars if that other person in that other country withdraws the money?
Sep 19th, 2012 - 01:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 06. It is almost impossible to buy precious metals etc. The markup is huge because it is heavily taxed at the boarder and you are going to end up paying the leak rate anyway. That is why U$ is so popular.
Sep 19th, 2012 - 01:30 pm - Link - Report abuse 0As Think has said many times he is perfectly fine with 30-40% since he has seen worse. Too bad they have never seen better.
I'd assume so - but wouldn't you be liable for the 15% tax deductable fee?
Sep 19th, 2012 - 01:32 pm - Link - Report abuse 0If it's viable then what you all need is a trustworthy friend in a first world country with a stable currency.
Hello ladies. How you doin' ? (I assume all the malvinista nutters on here are male)
7. Only if you already have the U$ in your bank account. Otherwise you need to buy them, open a U$ bank account then send via Paypal. So you are still subjected to all of the restrictions on buying the U$ that are in place.

Seems the BCRA reserves are a lot less then lead to believe. There was a total of just 500 billion in reserves (pesos) of which 16% was foreign funds......roughly 80 billion pesos or 17.4 billion DOLLARS. unfortunately 14%, 70 billion pesos...15.2 billion dollars were pegged as credit deposits.....not their money. Reality is that they only had 2.2 billion in December 2011. while they made some money in surplus, they also paid those bonds. They really have no international funds in reserves.

Big jowled cheeks, her neck looks like a shar pei, makeup so thick it ckaes up and ruins in the heat down there............just repulsively disgusting. Even so.....looks has nothing to do with competence, which makes all your statements so ridiculous like a horny teenager. You must be one ugly mug to think shes a looker.

Interesting thing is that the government has earmarked $2bn in oil and GAS IMPORTS from Venezuela in 2013. Another $2.7bn is earmarked for OTHER ENERGY IMPORTS. That’s still a drop in the ocean compared with an estimate by consultancy Abeceb.com that it will need to IMPORT FUEL to the tune of $14bn in 2013.
Sep 21st, 2012 - 06:21 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Luis Secco, an independent economist, said the government’s projections of total income rising 23.8 per cent and primary spending up 15.5 per cent compared with this year, way out of line with his estimates of 27 per cent income and 28 per cent spending, based on higher possible inflation for 2013 than the budget’s 10.8 per cent forecast. In a note to clients, he said he expected the bill to pass, meaning:
In 2013, once again, the budget will not prove a useful tool to evaluate the slant of fiscal policy.
