Even in the late 90's early 2000 there was still over a million unemployed because they didn't want to work and were and still are quite happy on state handouts.

Ken - It is very simple to resolve: just stop giving them government hand outs. But then the politicians would loose votes and get scared that they won't be reelected. So I guess we will always have parasites living off the productive sector....such is life.
