Foreign minister Jose Felix Fernandez Estigarribia confirmed the beginning of negotiations for the re-incorporation of Paraguay to Unasur and Mercosur which will take place through the mediation of a Latinamerican country he did not identify. Read full article

Thank goodness that the SA countries are beggining to see that Paraguay is one of the few democratic countries in South America.

Paraguay will have to tread very carefully . They were illegaly thrown out of Mercosur to allow the entry of Venezuela . Now Mercosur , in particular Brazil , have suddenly realized that the rest of the world do not share their opinion on the change of government . All the European ambassadors are still in Paraguay as is the USA Ambassador . So are the Ambassadors of México , Costa Rica and the Vatican . So now they are trying to make a deal with Paraguay . One hopes that the country will not accept crumbs and insist on it's rights . Re entry into Mercosur and the entry of Venazuela to be put on hold .

A “democratic and modern Paraguay” is a puppet in the hands of its neighbors. Paraguay was more respected during the 35 prosperous years in which it was governed by Alfredo Stroessner.
