Clarin. How unbiased! Come up with a better candidate than Cristina and I'll be interested in her not standing again....oh wait, the opposition can't, and even Clarin admit they're useless!

BK ... you don't look for unbiased news about rgland ... you just want news biased to your way of thinking. You know what they say... people read the newspapers that tell them what they want to hear.

The opposition useless? The whole RG political system is useless.. as is their economic management.

Even Ministers in CFKC's government are expressing concern over the amount of power she is giving to the unelected La Campora. They can see that it will be her downfall.

I have seen a real change in people I know that voted for CFKC. Once they would have supported her loyally but now they have turned against her. They feel disappointed and angry with her.

It'll get through, somehow. She will give them some puppy dog eyes and blame the Falklands and it'll get through. It'll all end in a repeat of 30 years ago.

The Economic minister is on his way to Vietnam to set up trade I guess, in the plane there are blow up balloons with “clarin lies” printed ion them!
Can you imagine a serious country;s ministers or cabinet officials going on a trade mission with this type of propaganda?
These methods are so beneath the dignity of the office it would be laughable if it was so sad.
What an embarrassing amount of misfits and halfwits running this country.
Whew and they wonder why no one takes them seriously!
    Good gracious!

...and finally change is emerging in the late spring air. Bit too late to join the ranks of a “Spring Uprising”, but evidential six out of ten Argentines disapproving with the performance of President Cristina Fernandez at the end of her 1st year into a 2nd term. Seems like that's continuing good news for the Falkland Islands.

    @12 - Huntsman Extrairdinaire

The Argentines haven't got the ability to invade a wet paper bag at the moment, let alone the Falklands.

In 1982 their military was vast, and had quite a lot of modern equipment as well as pretty decent second hand stuff.

Nowadays their military is reduced to working with equipment from 30 years ago, but without the finance and parts to maintain that equipment.

Their airforce is a joke, and could easily be taken out by the 4 Typhoons stationed on the Islands in conjunction with the anti-aircraft missiles (the ones Argentina have been saying are a danger to South America despite only having a range of about 5 miles).

Their navy is a joke, with most of it either impounded or rusting due to lack of spares.

Their army is useless as they haven't got the capacity to land them on the Falklands (no landing craft, no air frame).

The British, however, have 4 Typhoons, anti-aircraft, a destroyer around the area, and possibly a submarine tooling around.

Added to that, but even a wiff of the Argentines trying to mount an invasion would see the UK deploy its rapid reaction brigade, which could be in the Falklands within 24 hours, followed by other units within days.

Any Argentine attack on the Falklands would be folly, and suicide. It wouldn't have a chance of succeeding.

No I think Uruguay, Paraguay or Chile would have more to be concerned about regarding an Argentine invasion.

However, back to the thread. It's about time the people of Argentine woke up and smelt the coffee. I hope it's not too late to save their economy.

Elaine could not be more on target. If you allow you to only read the news that you want to hear, then you obivously in Lake Wobegone.....where the sun never sets and the sky is always blue.
The number one cause of kirncher's downfall is her refusal the think she can make mistakes and adapt. The biggerst thing they teach you in management is that after you have devised a plan and determined the best means to implement it, you need to carefully review it and critique it and the modify it as and where necessary and at times, look for a new plan. kirchner's ego will never allow her to accept that she is not only wrong, but woefully inept and incompetent.

#16 Go on, post some links. I doubt ministers would be openly succouring the opposition like that, excecpt maybe an unscrupulous one might think that by doing so it may become a self fulfilling prophecy and then they can take over - but I'm sure that ma'am would just sack such a disloyal rogue element, and rightly so

#17 I don't support Cristina because she's in power, but because she's right. If the bankers were able to bring her down she would join a long and honourable list of leftist heros like Allende, Arbenz etc - but I don't think they will!

#18 A tempting offer, if I thought my presence could actually help keep Cristina in power I'd be over in a flash. But unlike you I don't think things are that desperate =)

Here is a challenge I started in another comment thread, ask people whom do they think would be a better candidate then CFK to be president of Argentina. And wait for the answer. I got two responses so far, one was forest grump and the other I can't even mention because it can be considered an insult to Argentines, Suffice to say he was some mayor causing black outs in the capital city, CFK is a sweet heart when you compare her to the menem or videla type.

The opposition parties really need to sort themselves out in RG land to mount a successful attack on CFK's 'government' (if you can even call it that)
I can't name someone best suited to be president of RG land because I don't follow RG politics outside of CFK mad polices. Then again, even if I though X Y and Z were the best candidates it wouldn't matter as I can't vote for them since I'm not an RG! Besides, it is up to the RG's to chose their leader not anyone else. We can only watch and wait.

Although I am delighted that, “When asked specifically the question of the Argentine president’s re-election for a new mandate in 2015, the reply is a massive 82.6% NO with only 9.9% supporting.”
