    Thats appalling. Susana Trimaco is a hero.
    Those judges are corrupt scum as are the police.
    Argentina should be shining a light through every brothel rather than bothering about the falklands.

    @1
    It's apalling that CFK is using this to further her own agenda now with “We are going to initiate a ”democratisation of the Judicial Power.“ We all know what that means: reform of the constitution to her favor. The details of the judges desicions are due today. CFK has not even waited to see them before launching her new campaign. There is no doubt there is corruption in Argentina but that ”shining light ” should be on CFK too. And if by chance these defendents are innocent there will be no justice for them now since CFK has deemed them virtually guilty. They have become pawns in her game as has (sadly enough) Susana Trimaco.

    CFK never has pure motives for anything she does. Lucky for her this was very shortly after another Judiciary decision that wasn't to her liking. This is an excuse for her to start looking into dismantling the Judiciary and filling it with her creatures.

    Have you heard of Candela? The case was poorly covered by foreign press sources. It was a girl that disappeared, and was found dismembered in a landfill. The autopsy report showed that she had been raped repeatedly for months. Her family was involved, though the effort to actually solve the case was less than meager.

    Cristina kept her head down and didn't say so much as one word. She sees opportunity in this and she's going to take it. Otherwise, she would be ignoring it and spouting stupidities about something else.

    While I believe most politicians would politicize an opportunity like this, but more like for a photo opportunity. I agree with you that asslips sees this as her chance to dismantle the judiciary. Rather than investigate the processes, judges and go from there, I think they will try to bring the judiciary under government control. When the president controls:

    media and press
    congress
    judiciary

    There will be no more separation of government and a press to critique the president and government.....only one word comes to mind.......DICTATOR.

    Look as much as we are all shocked and disgusted with human trafficking, forced prostitution etc, if the prosecution (and who do THEY work for) can't make any of the charges stick then who's fault is it? Given the emotional charge of such cases, the possibility of judges being so corrupt as to acquit all without throwing even a inner ear bone of a sacrificial lamb to the wolves, however righteous they may be, is not likely. As @2 says, what are the details of the decision? Was there prosecutorial or police misconduct? Were they riding on outrage and emotion to the point where they didn't bother to forward the requisite of hard evidence? Judges have to be careful as to what precedents they let in to their courts since once they are in the books, they can stick until the sun goes cold unless otherwise overturned on appeal or otherwise superseded.

    Michelle Obama is a goddess, I hope her power alone will help women realize THEY are in control of themselves, not their circumstances, or some gov, culture, or gender.

    Well done Cristina for getting involved in this, she's absolutely right to throw convention aside and take on the corrupt elements of the old state to do all that can be done to make sure no case like this, or indeed the Candela one mentioned above, can happen again. I think its a bit like what's happening in America about guns now, a critical mass has been reached and now is the time to do what really should have been done long ago. The (true) point that these judges are also often Cristina's political enemies is another red herring; if they were supporters, or neutral, rather than pro-oligarchic, then they wouldn't be so likely to be corrupt in the first place would they?

    #11 You're going a bit far there, I wouldn't gush like that about anyone =)
