It is funny to travel to NYC and see which area of the World is doing well, in the 80s it was Japan, 00 Russians, now it is Brazil, Chinese and NYC is lousy with them!
They are packing all the good restaurants and shopping,
Kind of annoying since they are so loud and uncouth but it is very cool to watch how the tourist crowd changes over time.

The only problem is that too many of them don't go back, still you can hardly blame them I suppose.

“The only problem is that too many of them don't go back, still you can hardly blame them I suppose.”

Not really, majority of them just come here to shop and go to Disney World in Orlando. Because of the lack of jobs here in the US, majority of the Brazilian migrants who came here in the US in the early years, already left back to Brazil. why? Jobs.

Majority in the malls who are shopping and walk with more than 2 bags are foreigners (majority pays cash).

Yes, the majority return from whence they came, but here in the UK there are, quite literally, millions (not just Brazilians) who arrived on tourist or student visas, who very quickly tore up the return part of their tickets. Can't really blame them, and some of them are delightful people. However, way too many of them seem to harbour a bitter inferiority complex and antagonisms that they should, like so many of their compatriots, have allowed to fester at home.

It is understandable for Brazilians to go to Portugal - shared history and language. The other preferred countries belong to the third world - they also speak Portuguese. Maybe it gives your spirit a lift to see how much better off you are than these countries - and your money would go further.
If you enjoy the downmarket experience, good luck to you.

@3 so true! Chinese speaking in native dialects and driving nice cars are the thing on the West Coast. And their driving rules are different They're used to the rich getting away with things, so we have to SET THEM STRAIGHT :D
