    That's cool, definately the way forward, clearing old mine fields.

    When is Argentina going to help the people of the Falkland Islands get rid of all those illegally sown minefields they put there during their illegal occupation??

    I heard that they didn't even mark them out on their own maps.... Now that IS criminal stupidity.

    Hang on a minute, who am I talking about? oh yeah... I forgot “criminal stupidity” is a way of life for the Argentine military..........

  • The Chilean perspective

    No matter what the result at the Hague the people of both Chile and Peru have voted with their feet. This year crossings at the border passed the 5 million mark for the first time, it is by far our busiest border crossing, investment is at an all time high for Chileans in Peru and for Peruvians in Chile. There's really no stopping the integration process and the benefits can be seen on both sides, particularly in Arica and Tacna.
    The yanks love to say “money talks, bullshit walks” and in this case commerce is talking very loudly and drowning out the nationalist nutjobs. I wish the Argentines took a good look at what's happening and signed a free trade agreement with us, it would be great for them and for us.

    @2
    I have the answer to the sovereignty dispute over the Falklands!

    Let the Argies colonise the minefields (not Yorke bay-that's still needed by the EOD, I think), and raise their white and blue flag with the yellow smiley on, sing their stupid national anthem and jump up and down with joy at the fact they are on Falkland Islands soil.
    However, psssst, as they did not mark the minefields in 1982 , just forget to tell them they are minefields, but a generous donation to the Argentine nation by the Falkland Islanders to shut the whingers up.
    We can even get a prince in an unarmed yellow helicopter to transport them from MPA and lower them ever so gently onto their new territory......

    Good news, more evidence of the coming together of the countries and peoples of Latin America, a process driven by the left =)

    #4 Give it a break, this thread isn't even about Argentina or the Falklands!
