Corn-seed sales in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico help Monsanto with record earnings

US agricultural giant Monsanto Tuesday posted a large increase in quarterly earnings on strong results in corn seed sales in the US and Latin America and better sales of pesticides. The St Louis-based corporation said net income for the first quarter was 339 million dollars, up from 126 million a year earlier. Read full article

    Silly me I thought Argentina didn't want to do any business with THE USA.

    I love that we invent things take their profit while they do the grunt work for us.

    The tax collectors both in Argentina and USA must be really happy. Let's just hope Montsanto pay their taxes this year.

    Whatever gave you that idea. Argentina USA business is in full swing and has been for years.
    I recall seeing a large Monsanto complex in Argentina where local scientists and Ag engineers are working with local farmers, INTA, and others to improve grain harvests. I suppose that this is the type of innovation that you are referring to.
