The head of the hemispheric institution said the Venezuelan state authorities ”chose a path that allows time for the situation to be ascertained and provides a waiting period for the President-elect to be sworn in again.“

Even if he is dead we see no reason why Dead Man Not Walking should not attain the throne, sorry, the Presidency, said the man with the hemispheric head.

You couldn't make this crap up unless you live in SA.

Venezuela's economy and civil society are in such a poor state that no one is willing to flick af any card of this ramshackle house of cards.

Because the whole thing will come crumbling down so fast that it would make the entire region look bad.

Either way the OAS is toothless as it rarely agrees on a lot. Insulza just highlighted how unimportant his role is.

Constitutions are pointless in South America. The mean in incapacitated, will not recover and for all intense purposes is dead. Herein lays the problem when you worship and value a man over the concept of democracy......democracy losses and the man lives on.

I must admit that my first reaction was - what have you done Insulza ! Then I remembered that he was the only Latín leader who basically supported Paraguay following the legal impeachment of Lugo . Unlike the rest he came , saw and then gave his opinion . And , later , the OAS refused to impose sanctions on Paraguay . So , if he now made a mistakev, I forgive him ! Gracias por apoyar a Paraguay !
