Feb 08th, 2013 - 12:30 am - Link - Report abuse 0[1] ”Asking the Islanders if they wish to remain British is obvious they will say yes. That is not the question, the question is that they are illegal settlers on Argentine soil”, said Ambassador Dovena.
This is really how retarded they are. In [1] he says 'the question is that they are illegal settlers on Argentine soil' which isn't a question at all, it's a statement. Or is he suggesting they ask the question 'are you illegal settlers on Argentine soil? Yes/No'.
Where do they get these imbeciles from? Seriously?
[2] “to keep our territory for Latinamericans and not for foreign powers”.
That's called latin-american chauvenism, it's racist, and it smells of ethnic cleansing. Timmerman probably wrote it then.
First he says Argentina does not want to infringe in the lives of the British people in the Malvinas.
Feb 08th, 2013 - 12:49 am - Link - Report abuse 0Then he says ...this does not mean we consent their wish to be British.
Duh!
That is till they are asked if they would like to assist in the process of getting the oil ashore or on to tankers etc and then it will be Fook you rgenweener
Feb 08th, 2013 - 12:50 am - Link - Report abuse 0This bullshit forum is in no way a true expression of the Uruguayan people. This is the true expression of a bunch of idiots such as the Argentine Ambassador and ex-terrorist Uruguayan politicians. I'm Uruguayan and am fed up of seeing how Argies keep trying to drag us into this crazy issue. The Falklands belong to the islanders, they want to be British and that's it.
Feb 08th, 2013 - 12:54 am - Link - Report abuse 0My understanding that there is a celebration in the Argentine Embassy in Uruguay.
Feb 08th, 2013 - 01:02 am - Link - Report abuse 0Wonder what they are celebrating? Must be for the excellent job Timerman did for the FALKLAND ISLANDERS when he was in London.
Only few months ago Uraguy was complaing how they had NO CHOICE but to live and try get along with there much larger bullying neighbour WHATS CHANGED????

@4 [1] peoples’ self determination refers to indigenous populations
Feb 08th, 2013 - 01:06 am - Link - Report abuse 0[2] World English Dictionary
indigenous (ɪnˈdɪdʒɪnəs)
— adj (when postpositive, foll by to )
1. originating or occurring naturally (in a country, region, etc); native
2. innate (to); inherent (in)
[3] an implanted population following an illegal occupation and forcible usurpation
So according to [2], self-determination is not applicable to Argentinians, white latin-americans, Malaysians, Australians, South Africans, Thais, Americans, Canadians... et cetera. It's not applicable to black people in America. It's not applicable to Anglo-saxons in England. The UN should be clearer about this apparent infringement to human-rights.

Watch for the fallout.
Have a laugh go to dampsquid website. Apparantly CFK wants to move the population of Argentina to the FALKLANDS so that they can take advantage of our benefits culture.
Feb 08th, 2013 - 01:21 am - Link - Report abuse 0I'm astonished that such a thing as a 'Malvinas Forum, Uruguay Chapter' exists. Presumably it exists for the purpose of discussing a people they have never met. making decisions about a country they have never visited and kow towing to a large neighbour they are afraid of. Be proud of yourselves, hijos of anarchy.
Feb 08th, 2013 - 01:22 am - Link - Report abuse 0@13 The Germans didn't know the Poles and Austrians before they sat in munich discussing annexing them either. It's just about the expansionism, not the people. They don't care about the people.

Feb 08th, 2013 - 01:55 am - Link - Report abuse 0Yeah probably as hard as a single mum working night shifts. 'worked hard' on something that's not even tangible for 99.99999% of South America's population. Fcuk off.
This -malvinas issue- is just another industry. Another carriage of The Gravy Train. It keeps people employed.
Somebodys getting worried! Think we can expect more stunts like this in their embassies round the world, Too is going to be spoilt for choice on which one to grace with his presence! Take heart Falklanders, it's a sure sign your getting through to them.
Feb 08th, 2013 - 01:56 am - Link - Report abuse 0Roll on March.
Why is it obvious that we would vote to remain British?
Feb 08th, 2013 - 02:01 am - Link - Report abuse 0Did the Americans? New Zealanders? Australians? Did the Argentines vote to remain Spanish?
Makes no sense to me.
Why would we not vote to become Argentines? I think most of us would vote to become almost anything else rather than Argentine. I wouldn't mind being part of Chile all that much (apart from the fact that I'm not Chilean). That might be a good place to start when pondering your next move, people. Why is it that being part of Argentina is utterly unthinkable for most of us? I know T Man said we don't need to be persuaded, but actually, we do.
Bloody spell checker, that should read, Gotte is going to be spoilt for choice, for which embassy to attend.

Feb 08th, 2013 - 02:46 am - Link - Report abuse 0I'm guessing there will be a lot more La Campora trolls speaking up soon.
The Argentine governmnt is so powerless I almost feel sorry for them.
The meeting will be held in Maldonado where the forum was originally launched Funny that an awful lot of Argentines live in Maldonado. Any Uruguayans in the chapter at all? What they hope to do? Stop cruise ships visiting Punta del Este? I dont think that would go down very well with the local tourist operators
Feb 08th, 2013 - 02:54 am - Link - Report abuse 0Going to be awfully boring on here after the result of the March referenda.
Feb 08th, 2013 - 03:04 am - Link - Report abuse 0Then again, I am expecting a full blown campaign from them on how the result meant nothing, because the entire world, galaxy and universe did not recognise it. Including of course the UN and Mr Ban Ki Moon, who's words has we all know mean nothing, because he does not know what he is talking about.
@21 Yeah I'm expecting a lot more trolling, the usual crap from Sussie, Malvi, PH (100% nuclear weapons built in Rgenweener), Stink and all the rest that don't even live in Rgenweener. Usual arguements, (all without any truth or any historical backup) All the whinging about Britain militarizing the South Atlantic, yada yada yada, yawn yawn yawn, and you know what nothing will change and in 20 years time the Falklands Island flag will still be flying over the Falklands (there are no Malvinas, nor will there ever be). They will ignore Simon68 posts the only one that speaks the truth, as they always do, because they know he is right. I miss BK though perhaps he will make the odd appearance with his adoring adulation of any pictures of CFK and some handy tissues or a sock.

Feb 08th, 2013 - 03:32 am - Link - Report abuse 0Which is why there´s the following situation:
Currently on the UN decolonisation list 10 out of 16 do not have indigenous populations:
Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Montserrat, Pitcairn Islands, Saint Helena (inc Tristan da Cunha), Turks and Caicos Islands, and US Virgin Islands.
Formerly on the UN decolonisation list 13 out of 35 do not have indigenous populations:
Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Cabo Verde, Cocos Islands, Guadaloupe, Jamaica, Martinique, Mauritius, Réunion, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, and Seychelles.

@19 Malvinero1: your comment is like your passport. You're definitely Argentine. By the way, let other people (i.e. Falklands, Uruguay) alone, and take a look to what your own government is doing to its people. When you people do so, perhaps you'll be a happier society. Cheers.
Feb 08th, 2013 - 08:09 am - Link - Report abuse 0It's a year old and this is the first I have heard of it. Very effective forum. Well done you.
Feb 08th, 2013 - 08:20 am - Link - Report abuse 0@25 ... under their definitions the aboriginal australians aren't an indigenous population because they came there on boats. Boats are not a natural occurrence. The only natural inhabitants of most islands are birds and other fauna. Suggesting non-indigenous life doesn't get the right to self-determination just goes against basic common sense.
Feb 08th, 2013 - 09:20 am - Link - Report abuse 0When did Argentines have common sense?
The RGs were invited to come here to the Falklands and run a campaign for the 'No' vote.
Feb 08th, 2013 - 10:07 am - Link - Report abuse 0Interesting, innit, that they have opted to try and persuade the whole world that their point of view is right, rather than coming here and trying to persuade 2000 of us that we are wrong.
That's an easy one Honoria, it's because they are scared of you. Nothing scares tbem more than truth, honesty. Far easier for them to lie to the rest of the world, their contempt for which is easy to see, beacuse they claim the rest of the world believes them!

l, too would rather be part of Chile than ever being under Argentina.
You Argentines stole part of Patagonia from them.
Do you think that they've forgotten that?
We'll take Sta Cruz province & Chile can have the rest of Patagonia.
Sounds fair to me. or as Axel says its a fair solution to both parts lol.
Queen Marie-Antoinette lost her head in 1789, maybe Queen Evita II will lose hers soon, when the RG's realise they are being taken for fools. (Taking them a long time to realise it, mind you!)

Well, at least we know that Argentines profess that their overwhelmingly 'white' population aren't entitled to self-determination. Using their antilogic only their repressed brown population are. They should arrange for a referendum and have independence from the white people who brutally repress them and push them under trains.
Also the military garrison that a spanish colony tried to put on the islands (argentina didn't exist) are also not entitled to self-determination, using argentine antilogic. Therefore the hideously-biased opinions of people like 'the family vernet' are of no concern to anyone, so why do they bother bringing them along?
Way to go to ignore a complete population that makes you upset because their entire existence undermines the size of the lie that is the Great White Malvinas Myth.

Feb 08th, 2013 - 02:21 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I agree, but it would have been interesting to see how the RGs would undertake a campaign to promote their case. If they had any faith in it, or in the effectiveness of their diplomatic team, you'd think they would at least have had a go.

Dany, I think Monty69 was suggesting that she and the Islanders would be happy to become Chileans, by bringing Chile to the Falklands. Chilean sovereignty respecting the wishes” of the Islanders.

29 & 35 Shed-time,
Feb 08th, 2013 - 05:05 pm - Link - Report abuse 0For UN purposes, indigenous means populations that pre-date colonisation. I'm pointing out the nonsense of their argument because there are and were on the UN's list territories that don't have pre-colonial populations. Several never had them as they were uninhabited when discovered by Europeans. And yes, it goes against common sense.

@43 Thaaaaat goes against common-sense. To be honest, however, most of the UN C24 nonsense goes against common sense. Especially allowing expansionist fascist third-parties to come and have a rant at the expense of manners.
Feb 08th, 2013 - 05:18 pm - Link - Report abuse 0This bunch of no-hopers had a meeting last year in Punta del Este but it was sparsely attended. I suspect that all the argies who own property there had gone back to their shithole in AR.

Argentine ambassador Dante Dovena is nothing other than a belligerent drunken fat slob and Almagro is a closet argie from his time when he held the Ambassadorship to The Dark Country itself.
The Islanders really have got AR in a right two and eight over the referendum (bet that confuses the poor Malvanistas).
The date for the referendum is just before the Ides of March (15th) and I expect the occasion to be no less important to the islanders than the obvious one was to the Romans.

Our resident old chestnut Conks puts all of us Latams in the same basket so lets not forget that in Punta del Este Maldonado there wasa major pot banging demo against the Black Widow recently by Argentine citizens. Last weeks protest by Argentines against Kicillof on the ferry to BA was a bit rough on his wife and kids I agree, but it was he who put his family in that situation
Feb 08th, 2013 - 10:23 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@36 I represent the average Uruguayan. I am an Italian-German descendant, so I'm a mix of different European cultures as most of us are here. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to be born on the eastern side of the river. The Falklands belong to the islanders. If they don't, we should all go back to Europe. They have the same right to be there as you ARs have the right to be in Argentina and we Uruguayans to be in Uruguay. Sacate el balde de la cabeza y abrí los ojos!!!

Feb 08th, 2013 - 11:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Dovena talks of the Falklands being an implanted population, what cobblers, Uruguay originated as primarily a spanish european entity, a colony. How can it or its neighbours be anything else. Spain and Portugal sowed the seeds, not Uruguans, or Argentines or Brazilians or Bolivians or Venezuelans or Panamainians, or Peruvians or Chilians. Did I miss anybody? Sorry for any spelling mistakes. Indigenous indians did not forge these entitites, not doubt they had smaller realms and territories. The Falklands choose to stick with britain, the continental entities split for their motherships, so what. Each to his own.
