    A district of Cordoba called “Malvinas Argentinas” - you've gotta laugh. They should rename a district of London to “Thattherelandbeours”

    Well other than find the fabled Malvinas that so many talk about on here, the anti-business atmosphere that pervade Mercosur is verging on the ridiculous.

    The money these companies want to invest will still be invested ELSEWHERE!

    No. The argument is now settled. According to their web site,malvinasargentinas is situated in Buenos Aires and has nothing to do with the Falkland islands.
    So every time an Argie declares Malvinas Argentina he is referring to this place in B.A.
    As a fair minded people we can agree with that statement.

    @6 - yes, perfect. I hereby declare the misunderstanding between Argentina, the Falkland Islanders and the UK is now closed. All along Argentina have been referring to a district of Cordoba, not the Falkland Islands, which they didn't actually realise was theirs already.

    Bit embarassing for Timerman and CFK though, all that hoo-haa at the UN over a Cordoba district.

    No wonder the trolls were agitated; I'd have been hacked off if my government told me that YPF were drilling for oil in Coventry without asking !

    Love it! But there's a question. Shouldn't argieland be handing over this Cordoba district to the United Nations-approved Administering Authority, the United Kingdom? Just to ensure that it's properly governed. according to proper democratic principles.

    @8 -That would be the right thing to do, but more importantly I think the residents of Malvinas Argentinas should hold a referendum on the matter.

    Kerry stated that the US position was to recognize the UK as the de facto administration - Monsanto should lodge the appeal in the UK.

    ...

    Actually, every town in Argentina has a “Malvinas” something or other, malvinas airport, malvinas football staduim, malvinas plaza, malvinas avenue, malvinas hospital. When the malvinas are not on the TV, radio, school curriculum, newspaper, they are still in the poor Argie's face. No escape for the poor Argie from the malvinista propaganda machine.

    @8

    You can't keep your restless provinces in check from break-away movements, or your colonies in Ireland free from violence/terrorism, or your own cities riot-free... how do you expect to properly govern anything else?

    @13 - don't worry, the residents of Malvinas Argentinas will take all those elements into account in their referendum. If they decide against then fair enough. They will self-determine how they want to live.
