    I dont understand!

Based on the RG arguement about Brits nuclearising the South Atlantic, and that that is not allowed, will the Brasilian Nuclear Sub will only be able to sail north?

Kinda like the Trafalgar and Astute classes of SSN (which might be near to the Falkland Islands, which has Argentina virtually wetting itself) rather than the Vanguard class SSBN (which almost certainly wouldn't - aside from anything else, the British nuclear deterrent would only be used to retaliate against a nuclear attack on the UK and aside from the South-East of the USA there are no nuclear powers within range of the Falkland Islands).

If Argentina start screaming about the potential presence of British SSNs, then they should be screaming with far greater ferocity about the potential certainty of Brazilian SSNs.

@4 Why would she scream? She wants her own nuclear-powered sub. Unfortunately, the argies don't know how to build subs. And they don't know how to put nuclear power in them. Last I heard the argies were hoping to convert a diesel-electric submarine. Unfortunately, all the ones they've got have holes in them. And if they don't have holes now, we'll make sure they do have soon! Same goes for Brazilian subs. Can't have dumb latinos in charge of anything that might be dangerous.

Yes, agreed. British and all military countries get out from SA.....and very well. The Brasilian Navy is from defense......Peace Army. We don't go to Tamisa River. Peace, man. Don't be inconsequently.

Brasileiro, I'm guessing you are using something like google translate as that doesn't make much sense.

Conqueror, a little respect for Brazilian's please they haven't done nothing but be polite to the UK and we have a number of initiatives with them. It's clear any sub built by Brazil would be at least twenty years in design behind the UK's subs so hardly a threat.

It will be interesting to see if Argentina responds, if it does not then we know they are outright hypocrites.

I personally see no issues with Brazil continuing to advance itself as a nation, its economically performed very well over the recent years even if it looks to be in a economic slow down now.

    Good luck to them!

    Where is Think?
Here we have the answer to one of his questions.

He only asked this the other day...

    “”My final question is....:
Does anybody know a Country currently using hunders of billions of £££
developing, constructing and manning super expensive Aircraft Carriers and super expensive Atomic Submarines?

    Chuckle chuckle“”

Yep. It would seem the answer is... your next door neighbor!
    Love it.

PS: don't worry, Dilma said it was only for “defense” and “peace missions”.

Is this why CFK wanted and still does, a military alliance with brazil.
    ,,,
    CFK will never stop,
perhaps when she finaly wakes up, that she wont get the falklands,
perhaps certain wobbly friends next to her,

should in fact start to watch their backs.

They do say the grass is greener in the next field,

Therefore CFK should be replaced by a modern lawnmower,

She can spend her final days mowing over it.

    Lolol.

  • The Chilean perspective

Just what Brazil needs, another ridiculously expensive government program that will waste huge sums of public money for very little return. Sure like Brazil or any other developing country can afford to borrow 4 billion bucks for a submarine that at best can only patrol a minute part of their vast ocean. What a waste of money and what an inept government, way to go comrade Dilma.

UK nuclear subs are a joke. 2 or 3 P3-Orions are enough to counter that crap.

And you only have 4 (four) serviceable!
Our Astute class boats can actually destroy your P3's and any other anti-sum aircraft while they are still on the ground, with the crew eating their lunch.
Astute class carry Tomahawk cruise missiles you see, - So basically even one of our small 'hunter-killer' boats could (and would) Royally Fcuk the ARA aircraft

A comment from our military genius again.
The Astute class hunter killers are the top of the class in the world. So what you are saying is that ALL nuclear submarines are crap. So why are Brasil so keen to acquire something that could be sunk by a few aged P-3's ?
You don't have to believe me. Check on the web in RESPECTED sites on naval/submarine capabilities. You may have to alter your opinions which are biased to a hatred of all thing British. Apart from that, keep on posting. It gives us an innate feeling of superiority when we read your drivel.

“Why should Argentina object to Brazilian submarines? After all Brazil is not an aggressor nation.”

    Correct.

Argentina should not object and they should not object to British submarines that may or may not be in international waters either.

It's not argentinian territory though is it?

    So no, not aggressors.

Invading sovreign territory of another country as did argentina on 2nd April 1982? Well, that might be construed to ba an 'aggresive' act might it not?

Since when were international waters part of Argentine territory?

The fact that so many Argies think like you is why we maintain a modern army, navy and airforce on this side of the Andes.

But the UK does. Hence Argentina's response to Brazil is different to its response to the UK.

Argentina's getting a lot of practice at 'concidering' the Falklands to be their own territory.
The whole thing is getting pretty boring now with nothing but politicians and rhetoric.
I wish the Argentine military would just do their job, be defeated again, and then the poloticians would shut up for a while and give all of us some peace and quiet.

Finally we can agree on something. Argentina CONSIDERS the Falklands as their territory. However, this does not make it factually correct.

Are you a 'Creationist' by any chance? Because you (all) have that same mind-set as religious fundimentalists who refuse to believe the world is more than 10,000 years old.

Your have this malvinas myth installed in you, and I know there is nothing that can be done to cure you. You have my pity.

If you had a command of the English language and posted with references to the person you are replying to, SUCH AS #35 you would maybe understand !!
My reply was to your question“how many free thinkers do you have”. The answer 60 million + or- in the UK.
Your lack of clarity in your posts can lead to ambiguity.
Did you mean submarines or free thinkers - I can quote exactly for nuclear subs. and approximately for free thinkers. !
