These young Islanders want to preserve the Falklands community.

They recognise & honour the sacrifice made by our servicemen to liberate the Islands in 1982 & the continued work to keep them free. We must do our part to ensure that their rights of self-determination are preserved.

Argentina will never take the Falklands. The Islands belong to the Islanders forever.

How could anybody recommend that the cesspit of argieland be allowed to intrude on, never mind control, these people and their community. I hope that if British forces are asked, once again, to travel to the Islands and expel the shit from the “mainland”, they will feel proud. British men and women of our armed forces need to understand that they will not only be defending the defenceless but standing against the barbarian genocides of latam. Ladies and gentlemen, please remember your history. Those who fought at Corunna, at Trafalgar, at Waterloo, the Battle of Britain, Tobruk and many more. Protect OUR people. Always remember what the shit from the “mainland” is. Shit. They have none of what you have. They have no honour. They have no justification. They have no real courage. They have no honesty. Make sure that they die. In their tens of thousands. No mercy, no prisoners. Kill them all! Including those in argieland. Shoot it. Bomb it. Let them know the price of war. Make them suffer! Destroy!

'How Argentines feel about the Falkland Islands dispute -
A group of 20-somethings dance and wave in unison as the singer from La Murga, one of Buenos Aires' favourite rock bands, belts out lyrics to a crowded night club.
Claudio Diaz is singing about the day Argentina invaded The Falkland Islands - 2 April 1982. It is a song about death, heroism and national pride - and the audience love it.
Most of them were not actually born when the incursion and subsequent conflict - in which 255 UK servicemen, three Falklands civilians and 649 Argentines died - took place.
So I arranged to meet some of them the next day in a local park to find out what Las Malvinas, as the islands are called in Argentina, mean to those born well after the war.
La Murga's song, April 2, is about the day that Argentine forces invaded the Falklands
“When we are very young, we are told about them at school,” 25-year-old Julia says. “We know that the islands are ours.”
“Children are brainwashed,” says 30-year-old Fredrico, “they are taught about the islands before they are old enough to understand.”
But his contemporary, Jeremias, responds angrily to this notion saying: “I was not brainwashed. I know that Las Malvinas are Argentinean, for two reasons - historical and geographical.”
However, a look at the ancient maps stored in the archive drawers at the National Library of Buenos Aires reveal that the situation is more complicated than that.
Over the past 400 years, the Falkland Islands have been variously claimed by the Dutch, the French, the Spanish, the Argentineans and the British.....'

    Absolute rubbish.

The Falkland Islands were not discovered by the Spanish in 1530.

No-one knows precisely who discovered the islands, because their name was not connected to the maps, but maps were made by possibly 2 unknown Portuguese explorers.

We do know that a map was produced by Pedro Reinel in 1522, but the information could not have come from Estêvão Gomes for 3 reasons:

    1) he was imprisoned the moment he returned home for deserting Magellan's expedition, &

    2) he was not released from prison until September 1522, by which time the map was already made, &

    3) all the priests & historians on Gomes ship stated that the ship travelled up the coastline of S. America and never travelled out into the S. Atlantic. Furthermore, as the Falkland Islands are at roughly the same latitude as the Magellan Straits, it would be idiotic for someone travelling to Spain to head East, when he needs to travel North & hug the coast to make sure of fresh water & food.

We do know that after the Portuguese, the Dutch saw the Islands & the British. But it was Captain John Strong who first landed & set foot upon the Islands in 1690, long before the French or Spanish arrived.

The French may have set up their colony in 1764, but the British arrived in 1765. The Spanish did not arrive until 1767 and the Falklands Crisis of 1770-1 proved that both nations (Britain & Spain) had sovereignty claims to the Islands that were not resolved. Both Spain & Britain left the Islands, but retained their claim to sovereignty until the Spanish relinquished their claim in favour of Great Britain in 1863.

Argentina never had any legal claim to the Falkland Islands. The colony founded by Vernet in 1826 was with the permission of the British Consol. However, when the United Provinces declared Vernet their civil & military commander, Britain protested & removed the UP garrison, but not the civilian population which was invited to remain & consisted of 12 UP citizens out of 22 inhabitants.

The documents in the national archives of Great Britain, Argentina and France corroborate the facts I've detailed. There are maps in France which pre-date any of those in Argentina and clearly show that they were produced by Portuguese navigators, NOT Spanish.

So that makes you a fool for ignoring them, or worse, another victim of Argentine propaganda.

The Argentine government has been lying about the Falkland Islands for years. Just recently, they altered their official leaflets to omit their claim that ALL the Argentines were forced to leave the Falklands in 1833. As I previously stated, 12 UP citizens remained on the Islands after the UP garrison was asked to leave. At his courts martial in Buenos Aires, Pinedo presented a detailed report on what happened & listed the names of the people that remained on the Islands. Pinedo's evidence shows that the UP & Argentine governments were aware that not all their citizens left the Islands. Argentina has persistently misled other nations, including the UN, that ALL their citizens were removed when they knew the truth. Misleading someone when you know it to be false is lying.

So YOU & Argentina, have been lying to the world for decades.

Moreover, none of the Argentine maps between 1850 & 1884 show the Falklands as Argentine. Most of them obscure the position of the Islands with text or an index Indeed, the 1884 Latzina map is very revealing, because it shows the Islands as foreign territory. The Latzina map was commissioned by the Argentine foreign ministry & 120,000 were distributed. So even your own government accepted that they were outside Argentina.

As for Vernet, he often stated that he believed the Falkland Islands were British. Not only did he seek permission to be on the Islands, but after 1833 he stated many times in documents held by archives that they were British. Vernet wanted them to be British to protect his venture from being stolen by General Rosas. You are a fool for ignoring the facts.

UK posters, check out on BBC Iplayer, Newsnight 6th March, approx 36 mins in. It's a report from Sue LLoyd Roberts about Argentinan attitudes to the Falklands, government spokeman Filmus dismissed referendum, political commentator Jorg Castro said it was very important, 2 young students, believe in the argentine historical claims and geographical claims, the 3rd did not and he believed brainwashing was the problem in Argentina. It was very interesting. Many others believe the claim too.

    @45

Yes I did see this report last night. It was interesting, because it corroborates the point of view of several enlightened Argentines on Twitter and elsewhere.

One Argentine Twitter user believes that Argentina would be far better off making friends with the Islanders rather than attacking them. He believes that trade will build cooperation, over fishing & oil and that this will result in increased ties between the mainland and the Islands.

The other Argentine is a professor at a British university. He believes that the Islanders have to be involved in any discussions and that their rights have to be respected.

Both Argentines believe that the Falklands are Argentine, but they are not insistent that they be handed over by force, or that the Islanders should be ignored. They both agree that the Islanders have more right to the islands because they've been there longer than most Argentines have been in Argentina.

Both agree that trade is the answer, not only to build trust & friendship, but because they know that Argentina will lose out massively when the oil bonanza starts. Primarily because the firms exploiting the oil will work with the Falkland Islands Government & ignore any threats from Argentina.

When it comes down to it in the end, Argentina will lose face every time an oil tanker loads up from the Falklands oil wells. The Argentines won't be able to do anything about it either, because the oil wells will be protected by SSNs, as well as Sosus. Any attempt to interfere with oil production will be discouraged in the strongest possible sense!
