Manipulation of inflation figures to cheat index linked bond holders but when the truth is revealed, where will they sue??
Argentina seems to want to ensure that they can never borrow again, which may or may not be a good thing. Discuss

arg has the same big problem as venezuela had: the housewife kirchner.
she alone decides what is good and what is bad. in her opinion everything is bad what doens´t follow her believe of what is good. she is convinced it is good when she becomes re-re-elected.
to let that come true she manipulates everything and everyone she can: ministers, press, people, companies, judiciary, statistics, bank, currency, imf - everything. and her governmental gang follows her - they are dependend of her.
the imf must be blamed to be part of this desaster as it followed her manipulations for years. I have no big hopes that this will change in the next 14 days.

They SHOULD be out of the G20: but given the tardiness of the IMF to remove miscreants with its warning after warning I doubt the G20 will be any different.

    We can but hope.

She deserves nothing less than the most severe punishment possible. I want to see what becomes of her, now that her ghoulish husband and that sack of lard are six feet under.

I really wish she'd join them sooner than later, so we can bring back some economic sanity.

@2 Argentina´s problems go beyond CFK. The country is controlled by the Peronists, who don´t intend to be good rulers (of course, the non-Peronists aren´t much better). After CFK leaves, she´ll be replaced by Scioli or Macri. Both seem sane now, but it´s hard to tell how their true colors before they are in power. Neither will be much better than the Kirchners.

I want to ask. It seems this country is heading for some very huge problems.

I've heard of CFK missing things for being sick. Is it possible CFK will resign, due to “being sick”?

They'd give a line like, “She gave it her all to her beloved Argentinian people until she had nothing more to give, she would have died if she continued. The great Argentinian people deserve a leader who can give their all, so she had to resign, for them.”

She'd go out like Eva Peron, but “barely” surviving. Everyone would think she's great and feel sorry for her and be entertained by a story like that.

    Could that happen?

No, can´t happen. CFK isn´t dying of cancer and she has too much power to be forced to resign.

    @10 I'd say that's true.

At least the reduction of poverty is happening fast in the South American continent. In only ten years, it halved in a lot of places.

@11 I suspect that she will bow out on the grounds of ill health. There is no doubt her health is deteriorating given the number of periods of complete rest her doctors are ordering. I think her thyroid and bi-polar disorders are two medical problems that are hard to control.

She has also referred to 'making great sacrifices' to be President a second time. Her own children lobbied against it and she only decided to run quite late in proceedings. I personally think her vanity won over good sense.

In my opinion she is completely out of her depth without Nestor telling her what to do. She is all idealism, emotion, greed and vendettas over any sound political sense.

As everything starts to collapse around her I suspect she will become increasingly sick, but she will hang on as long as possible. JMO

@3 SHOULD be chucked off G20. Only there because the G20 thought it might be worthwhile to have a poor country so tyhat they could gauge the effect of their decisions on poor countries. Depending upon the criteria, argieland can be ranked as low as 52nd in the world. It's not as though argieland ever has anything constructive to say. Membership of G20 should be revised urgently. Argieland thinks it makes it important. When it's really the corrupt, criminal beggar dragged in off the street.
@12 Don't be so sure. CFK is well rattled. The detention of the Libertad, the ongoing legal action in New York, the creditors beginning to line up, all the outstanding cases at the WTO. Watch argieland pulling out of organisations because she can't cope. No support from the UN. Continued defiance by the Falklands. Steadfast support for the Islands and measured opposition by Britain. And her “own” continent is hardly united. When it comes to the bottom line, who are the “weak links”? Chile. Maybe Paraguay. Maybe Uruguay. Maybe Colombia. Maybe Peru. And now the possible loss of Venezuela. Internally, her support has dropped away. Protests, non-government riots, union opposition. Her picture is by no means rosy. And the cruise industry isn't “co-operating”! Who is “suffering”?

he was her right hand money bags, and one of her biggest supporters,

    if she has come home,
    then perhaps, someone insulted her,
she felt insulted, for not being the centre of attention,

    but whatever the reason,
it may very well backfire on her.

... not the centre of attention,
..has either been told there is no more $$$$US or Tango One is already loaded up with loot
    or
....wants to be home so she can go mental over the referendum ( which is odd... she should just be ignoring it)

Whatever the reason its a serious bad move.... mourners are still arriving while she is leaving... stupid cow.

You know, more than the Falklands stuff, whats really weird about this site is the IMF love from the anti-Argies and right wingers. I think most people in the world would see the wrath of the IMF as a badge of honour; and to successfully resist it, as the Kirchners have done, truly heroic...
