Have any of you jokers made it to the top echelons of the UK Military: just imagine what an achievement this woman has accomplished in a male dominated structure?

Being British (?!?)and Scottish I would've thought that you would know that. Especially as the lady in question is a direct descendent of the 1st King of Scotland - Kenneth McAlpine.

I've met (although briefly) Gp Capt Mackmin, a few years ago. She was definitely an up and coming officer, determined and bloody good at her job. But then she would have to be, wouldn't she? No one can really get anywhere these days in the British military without being really good at the job. Promotion is based solely on ability and nothing else.
