    Margaret Thatcher a grocers daughter,
    Who grew up in Britain?
    Until politics caught her,

    She became prime minister
    And became very meana
    Refused to turn tail
    And beat Argentina

    She died a great lady
Now in peace she will lay
    She will be remembered
    From those who will say,

    Rest in peace.

No doubt that the Argentine government will protest the Piñera's comment that ”She was a brave woman who confronted the problems ... I believe it is a great loss for Britain and for the whole world”
Her magnificent decision to sell our country arms during the Kennedy embargo was a key issue in us being able to avoid war in 1978. They would have won of course, but we would have really bloodied their nose and as the cowards they were they opted for the Falklands.

Sounds like the country with the 'Old Hag' running it is surrounded by people who don't like it?

    @4 Chicureo,
And we want them to stay on their side of the water!
Seems not too many people want anything to do with them.
    l can't imagine why!

Yes, the Argentines have many good people in their country who want to progress their own lives spoilt by people who want to take what isn't theirs.

No wonder Chile must be quietly satisfied that Argentina chose to invade the Falklands first and couldn't go on to take Chile as the UK stiffed them but now I wouldn't want to be an Argentine Fighting Hawk/Finger pilot against AWACs resorce and F16s

Thatcher is so inspiring... I can't see someone like her running a South American country. The US needs someone like her now.

“despite the massive, global communicational campaign launched by the Soviet Union”

I never heard about this. How exactly was the Soviet Union trying to influence things? Does anyone know anything about this?

Also, Argentina wasn't only about to attack Chile in 1978 (Soberania). Weren't they also ready to attack Chile after the Falklands in 1982?

Wasn't it the imminence of Argentine aggression towards Chile in 1982 that prompted Chile support of GB? Or is that not substantiated?

@12 yeah I'm also at a loss what this is about re USSR could be something to do with the removal of Allende ( communist/socialist ) by Pinochet.
Yes think Arg had most of their best troops stationed in the Andes ready to attack Chile if the Falklands escapade had been successful ( Probably why mostly conscripts where sent to the Islands, they mis calculated the UK's response to the invasion )

Pathetic and regrettable statements of Chilean President Sebastián Piñera.
Logically Margaret Thatcher supported Pinochet's crimes. She was like the Chilean dictator.

On this page you see the two together genocidal. Pinochet and Margaret Thatcher.
    A couple of criminals.

Miguel song Piero Cantilo and truly portraying the criminal and genocidal Margaret Thatcher

    LADY VIOLENCE AND CHILDREN

    Lady violence firecrackers clouds
    Words flamethrower and criminal reason
Architect built a fire of fear
    Machete arrogant and pit scar.
Lady of the blows and curses
With hands gillette gun and sex

Lady violence where will the children of thy womb
    Muscles resistant leather
    Punishing enemies screaming and kicking
Someone who loves me, killing living.

    Lady violence rages
    Revolution and war, national pretext
For many people release their anxieties,
Your sleeping body and animal instinct.

    Energetic lady wild fields
Patron of the jungles and brutal work
Lady of the men who grow up in the footprint
Deformed lady, crazy in the city.

Where are the children of your womb
    With effervescent lead flakes
    Mistreating animals and felled pine
    Destroying forests, breaking the valleys,
    Withering grass ranging treading.

    20 Condorito

You would like Pinochet and his crimes. I have no guilt that pleases you genocidal as Pinochet, Videla, Galtieri and Margeret Thatcher.

In your comments you bet by resentment, hatred, death and violence.

My money elentendimiento, the life and non-violence.

Recall that Margaret Thatcher supported and protected the genocidal Pinochet.
    A couple of criminals.
Chileans are not to blame for this. He suffered and fought valiantly to get rid of the dictator.

The caricature of condorito was a beloved character in Argentina and Chile.

You should learn the true Condorito. This character work based on brotherhood, justice, love and nonviolence.

Totally from you and your thoughts.

    Raul ,
This part of your little unintelligible poem refers to your wonderful government and it's policy of deforestation to blight the land with SOJA and open cast mining ( mineria abierta ) .

    Mistreating animals and felled pine
    Destroying forests, breaking the valleys,
    Withering grass ranging treading.

Mrs Thatcher can be accused of many things , but mistreating animals , felling pines , destroying forests , breaking valleys and withering the grass are more Cristina's line .

No choripan for Raul today , I'm afraid .

“Recall that Margaret Thatcher supported and protected the genocidal Pinochet.”

Stopped you RGs invading Chile didn't it?

Well of course if MT hadn't kicked Galteiri's ass, you lot would have invaded Chile and caused even more genocide.

Rejoice! She overthrew your dictatorship which was worse than Pinochet's.
