Apr 08th, 2013 - 04:56 am - Link - Report abuse 0I love verbal linguistics. So technically all cars and electrical appliances in Gibraltar are outside of UK sovereignty and fall under Spain's sovereignty?
Sovereignty is sovereignty!
Concentrate your efforts on providing employment for your people and leave politics out of sport!
Apr 08th, 2013 - 08:06 am - Link - Report abuse 0This sounds incredibly juvenile.
Apr 08th, 2013 - 08:52 am - Link - Report abuse 0We should send them a match ball so they have something to take home and sulk with.

Apr 08th, 2013 - 12:02 pm - Link - Report abuse 0that'd be one ball more than England have ever come with since 1966.
Football Associations are not countries, they are just sporting associations. UEFA is not the UN.
Apr 08th, 2013 - 12:19 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Anyway, if drawn in the same WC or Euro qualifying group as Gibraltar, Spain will play them rather than face disqualification. Given that Spain sometimes plays home games in the Canaries they can hardly complain. Indeed Morocco played Spain at the London Olympics and made no protests.
You can see where the argies have got their lying, cheating, ways from though.
Apr 08th, 2013 - 01:04 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It must be in the genes.
Gross pettiness and absurd! Is Spain scared of losing to the llanitos?
Apr 08th, 2013 - 01:06 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Totally pathetic and yes it lowers Spain down to the Argie level! Politics are Politics - and Sports are Sports - at least they are to those of us who live in the adult world.
Apr 08th, 2013 - 01:24 pm - Link - Report abuse 0is spain thinks it can gain through political threats in sport then let them......and just like argentina they will also fail quite miserably with counter productive aggression.
Apr 08th, 2013 - 03:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Spain has to ask itself is it a true Democracy or is it of the same ilk as Argentina!!
SELF-DETERMINATION...............GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gibraltar? In South Atlantic?
Apr 08th, 2013 - 03:48 pm - Link - Report abuse 0This is British propaganda indeed...
@11 Why are you commenting? It's none of your business. Except, of course, that latinos tend to be much the same wherever they say they come from. Gibraltar, ceded to Britain in perpetuity in 1713. A treaty that did not identify any Spanish territorial waters. So Spain has no territorial waters? Well, well, well. Spain got internationally-recognised and legal territorial waters under the UNCLOS I treaties in 1958. So did Gibraltar! Spain is like argieland. It can only read what it likes.

Apr 08th, 2013 - 06:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I could really not care less, Gibraltar still isn't the South Atlantic.
And this still is British propaganda.
Once again Spain acts like a spoilt child,
Apr 08th, 2013 - 07:06 pm - Link - Report abuse 0We want, we want,
Yet again covering up there own incompetence fraud and corruption,
They like CFK are merely diverting their home problems to other things to act as a distraction,
Spain knows very well she has no claim and never will have, now or ever,
But like CFK their greed and blind obsession will merely hasten the break up of Spain,
Already two regains are fed up with the Spanish government,
Spain should leave Gibraltar alone and concentrate on her own country, before it falls apart.
Just an opinion..
.
Spain may be very good at the game of football, but even they seem to realise that:
Apr 08th, 2013 - 10:18 pm - Link - Report abuse 01) FIFA and UEFA take exception to governments interfering in the sport
2) Football is about money, and while at club level they may promate the sport weill, at international level they are not realy a player in the money stakes.
They might moan a bit, but, 'Madrid has not lodged any appeal against Gibraltar’s membership application.'
Can't see that changing at any official level.
Wasn't Gibraltar ceded to the UK in perpetuity by Spain in the Treaty of Utrecht
Apr 08th, 2013 - 11:07 pm - Link - Report abuse 0If you make an agreement then stick to it and quit whining. Is it a Spanish speaking thing?
16, correct
Apr 09th, 2013 - 06:17 pm - Link - Report abuse 0but try telling the spannish that.
