President Dilma Rousseff will make the first formal state visit by a Brazilian leader to the United States in nearly two decades, according to Reuters’ news agency. The trip allegedly will occur later this year likely in October, officials said on condition of anonymity because the White House has not yet announced the visit. Read full article

Dilma should take care, she could be impounded when she sets foot on US soil.
People have long memories, and what was done can not be undone, only set aside in the greater global interest.

MercoSur is going to die shortly so it is a good time to get this all ironed out.
    BUT
Brazil needs to grow up and abide by international law and treaties. US companies need to have their patents respected and not stolen by Brazilian companies FOR THE GOOD OF THE PEOPLE.
Until that happens I don't see why we would bother transferring military technology to them either, let France give away their technology for a song we don't want to.

Good point for those who understand it but Obama hasn't got the balls and he is sucking up to SA under a delusion they will change their hatred of the Americans for just the reason Dilma needs to be careful.

The Americans did nothing about the plane that was impounded by Timerman so the other problem is just too hot to tackle.

    3. I wouldn't say we did nothing. after Timmerman boarded the jet the Rg have been frozen out diplomatically in the USA, IMF, IDB, WB.
It will take time we must abide by the rules/regs of the entities
    but they will pay
    dearly
We have a long memory for breaches of etiquette

Looks like the end of Mercosur.

Certainly, it's usefulness is over for all. All but Argentina and Venezuela.

Maduro might find it easier just to fun for Pres. of Mercosur - likely to be uncontested because it has no real power.

Oh my, Brazilian foreign policy with those two in charge were shameful. Anyway, subsidised agriculture in US will continue to be an issue, Brazil will not change its policies for a while, specially with this woman in charge. Are the guys in Washington awared her party might be supporting North Korea?

Are you aware that the CIA have implanted a tracking chip in your brain which can only be defeated if you put your tin foil hat back on?

It is obvious that Brazil has decided , rightly so , that Mercosur is not a real free trade club . Mainly due to Argentine import restrictions . Also the strange love affair with Venezuela and Iran . So they are going the way of logic and common sense.
Make a deal with normal countries , like the USA , and normal groupings , like the EU . Though with the latter they will need to mend fences with Paraguay . The EU still does not understand the logic of expelling Paraguay from Mercosur . Perhaps Rousseffs long time advisor has taken a back seat and the Foreign Ministry is back in charge !

lol Troy, sussie is having it's xth lobotomy. Even more funny is they actual believe about implants......lol.
So now that Argentine judiciary is on the fast track to direct control, how long will it be that what is left of the free press is gone, opposition with be imprisoned(pick an excuse), what's left of middleclass wealth will manage to be directed to the corrupt government of asslips. For the sake of the decent people left in Argentina, I hope Thursday protest is by far the largest.
John III, TTT, Toby, Afarensis WTF is seldon posting these days because of the floods due to the lack of adequate infrastructure.

The current rumor is Rgs believe the USA has satellites with lasers that can make an area of a country too dry or too wet (depending on the real weather I guess) to mess up their crops or make violent storms or when needed.
So many conspiracy theories alive and well with the undereducated masses of 3rd world countries.
Too bad they can't see the simple truth is that Marxism and rampant corruption is killing them not the USA. All we have to do is sit back and watch them destroy themselves. We have plenty of time.

I never heard thtat one, but either not the RG's I know believe that. I guess we can combine them with the AMerican engineers that believe the Eagle landing took place in the Nevada desert and not the Tranquility Mare.
It's hard for the RG's to come out of their way of thinking when their own government works to subtely repress anbd sunordinate them. I am hoping Thursday's march is the strongest showing of anti government sediment yet. And as usual, of course asslips is going to Venezuela to congradulate maduro. Funny how she scheduled that trip Friday.
