Argentine journalist Jorge Lanata who has won Spain’s Television Iris Award, claims that ‘80% of Argentine media is in the hands of government (President Cristina Fernandez)” which are used as “instruments of propaganda”. Read full article
This guy is impliciting Uruguay in his efforts to trash Argentinas government.
Money-laundrying is a serious matter, and he better start presenting proofs to back his claims.
Lanata is all talk and pointing fingers, but he hasn't presented one shread of evidence.
And he is left-wing out of convenience.
5
Because he runs a popularity contest...
Peronists aren't left wing, they are bloody all over the political spectre.
Tell you what, the day you understand Peronism, please explain it to me.
All the other ideologies makes sense in one way or another, but Peronism is really hard to define.
At some point in Argentinas history, you have two sides shooting at eachother, both screaming Viva Perón...
Lanata isn't left wing because he is the errand boy of the right.
Lanata is the ONLY Argentinian who consistently talks any sense and I think he used to be part of FCK's crowd and worked with and for her. Lanata for President !
Monkey
You can continue spreading those rumours about the money laudrying, but if you don't present proofs, like in Lanata's case, it will still be rumours.
It will not become more truth just because you repeat it many times.
Uruguay has asked for proofs, Lanata doesn't seem to want to answer.
@ Stevie Jorge, Lanata should be congratulated for his constant exposures of a seriously corrupt family like the Kirchner's and her ass licking government he must really piss her of for showing what an evil cow she really is.
andy
As soon he shows proofs of his claims.
Until then, he's just running somebody elses agenda, and is probably getting paid for it.
Like the proper errand boy he is.
@ Stevie Believe me Jorge Lanata pulls no punches when showing what a thief and corrupt twat Kirchner is,I do believe she describes him as a traitor for having a brain and the will to speak the truth pity there's not more people like him in that shit hole Argentina, only a corrupt 60 year old bat like kirchner would want a 3rd term in office so she can rape and pillage Argentina even more what really pissed Kirchner of about Lanata is that he visited The Falkland Islands and shown his own countrymen the real truth and not Argentine fairy tales
@Stevie, You are an idiot taken in by a thief alias Crissy kirchner the botox queen she's so famous for stealing from you she's made the top ten of the corruption all stars list here take a look she's in some great company
Cristina Kirchner / Official
•Even before she was elected president of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner carried the haze of corruption. In the most famous case, an emissary from Hugo Chavez, the president of Venezuela, was discovered at the Buenos Aires airport carrying a briefcase stuffed with $800,000 in cash, destined, he later told the FBI, to support Kirchner’s presidential bid. Kirchner denied the allegation. Within Argentina, many question the huge fortune Kirchner and her late husband Nestor amassed since taking public office. Her declared personal wealth stands at $13.8 million, up from $500,000 when the couple first entered national politics. Kirchner cites income from real estate and hotels the couple had purchased to explain the 2,600 percent return on the couple’s investment purse. Corruption watchers complain that her government has neutered government oversight, giving auditing posts to cronies compromised by conflicts of interest. The result: corruption cases take an average of 14 years to work through the system, according to the non-profit Center for the Study and Prevention of Economic Crimes, and only 15 in 750 cases have led to convictions. http://100r.org/corruption-allstars/
Alicia Castro's illegitimate daughter is clearly wearing the most cheap ill fitting denin shorts follow your eyes to the top in betwwe her legs where you will find The camel Toe and as the Argentine London based blogger rightly says and I quote
The Ambassador should keep the parade of her daughter for private functions possibly in the Embassy because she is too young and does not have Pippa’s style. She comes across as an undereducated student desperate to get fucked and by She, I mean, the Argentine Republic
the Blogger rightly points out Castro's daughter is no Pippa Middleton and should dress the part and not show herself as something that resembles a street walker just like Kirchner and the two Castro's they come across as looking trashy un kept and dirty
@ Stevie Your losing the battle my friend now run along you have $7 to earn today and yes we all understand what Peronism is we have seen the results of it over the decades in Argentina hence the reason your country is on it's kness
Speaking to friends in Argentina and reading the press it appears Lanata made a very good case supported by considerable evidence. Enough evidence to send CFK into a frenzy to gain control of the judiciary. She knows.
Seriously? Being vulgar to try to distract from the facts of the story? It is not going to work.
@Stevie, They don't only a trashy Argentine named Castro could wear something so fitting, cheap and nasty just like her mother, how are the price controls going in your supermarkets in Argentina any shortages yet??? perhaps you could tell us all what the rate of inflation is today or like your finance minister who recently told a greek TV channel We do not talk about inflation are you not allowed to discuss or perhaps you could tell us all what the value of the peso is against the greenback today?? we are waiting
I'm not being vulgar, I'm just asking andy what he meant with his statement.
He doesn't seem to want to answer.
You think the camel toe came from me?
And Lanata has no case, he is hiding when asked about proofs of money laundrying in Uruguay. He refuses to answer.
Uruguayan authorities have looked into the case and they confirm Lanata's case is, I quote,
muy débil y debería ser enriquecido con más elementos.
translates into
”very weak, and should be supplied with more elements (of evidence)”.
andy
Both the FA and the opposition agrees that there has been no money laudrying.
I'm quite sure the Rosaditos would never accept money from CFK to say anything...
Lanata is an errand boy, and we all know that.
The issue here is whether the majority of Argentine people believe Lanata. It appears that they do. CFK has never been more unpopular and this just adds to the negative view about her. She is panicking.
@Stevie you are confused what an errand boy is and does take a look at that rat Hector Timerman now there's a great example of an errand boy and if you don't believe me ask Banki moon he would be more than happy to confirm it after all they are sick and tired of Timerman landing at the door of the UN talking shit on behalf of your beloved Cristina now that's what you call an errand boy or an ass licker if you wish to be crude.
Why do you use the term 'you lot'? TTT always used that term.
The one person who does not want the truth to come out is CFK. She knows she is guilty of corruption, money laundering and theft.
Many years ago when I first started visiting Argentina I used to ask people why they accepted the government was corrupt. The answer was that all politicians and officials are corrupt, it was just accepted. They didn't protest about it because back then they thought their lives were improving, they had food on the table and were getting by. It's called 'happathy'. People will put up with a lot when they don't feel a problem directly affects them.
A lot has changed in the years since and now people are not happy. They are struggling to get by and the two major concerns they have, inflation and insecurity, are not the main focus of their government. So they are turning against the government and a crazy leader obsessed with a mythical fairy tale. Her approval rating has plummeted as has the standard of living of the majority. Now they do care that she is corrupt because she has become the villain.
@Stevie I rest my case like all Argentines who have been brainwashed you dry up when you can not defend the un defendable any longer, try listen to people like ElainB and Yankeyboy they have experience of your country and have no agenda but to tell the truth but, as I said stop trying to defend a lia and a thief Cristina Kirchner, even The new Italian pope suggested both Nestor and crissy were corrupt.
andy
Of course, the catholic church is a prime example of morals.
Corrupt is their language means legit.
And yes, I do listen a lot more to people like Elaine than people like you.
I might disagree with almost everything she says, but at least she has manners when saying it.
Elaine
If there has been money laudrying, the process to follow is as usual.
Lanata presents his proofs and a court will take care of the matter.
Lanata is using the media to act as police, prosecutor and judge.
And that, my good woman, is corruption.
@Stevie Tuff on your part matey if you don't like the truth then keep away from here you my dear fellow can not even decide what country you live in and what nationality you are, does lieing come naturally?????
@ Stevie, Old news we have moved on from that disgusting picture of Castro and her daughter we are now talking about lies and corruption of the botox queen
@ yankeeboy Most heads of state make there money once they have left office in South America especially Argentina it seems to be the opposite way round
effectively Its 80% total state run media dictatorism vs 20% democratic press..............
Oh dear Argentina what are you revealing?? rewind time back 30-40 years and and thats as near reflection as you will get to todays government,
Its no wonder Iran wants to rub shoulders and not just to gain a foothold in S.A!
Fellow dictatorships.....Argentina has never been a true democracy , At best a selective democracy for when it suits them and ticks all the right boxes for irans interests.
Under kirchner Argentina has gradually tip-toed back into those dark days of the now disbanded junta government, now replaced by police, convicts & la campora trogs to meat out the nazi persuasion, and the world can say we seen it happen right from the start like a train crash in slo-mo.......
--Lanata is using the media to act as police, prosecutor and judge.
And that, my good woman, is corruption--
I think that's called fighting fire with fire.
Ive seen Duro a Domar and 678 and they are breathtaking in their manipulation, deceitfulness, arrogance and childishness etc. Theres a saying on Argentina - La Duena de la Verdad- which I take to mean 'my opinion is the truth and is treated as the universal truth and anyone who disagrees is an enemy of the state'. Its one thing to have an opinion but when these shows try to pose as balanced, broadcasting the universal truth that makes them even more pathetic. These people perform their arse -licking, chupa media-ing and collect their cheques at the end of the month. They are filth. Lanata is a showman and has his schtick but is a saint compared to these state sponsored media workers.
The evidence was presented by the bank in question to the authorities - the government agency responsible for tackling money laundering - and they did not take the matter to court. There was enough documentary evidence to do so. But the government agency is controlled by the corrupt government.
You assert that the media are acting as judge and jury but no one has been prosecuted or punished. All they have done is bring the facts to the attention of the general public. It is the responsibility of the judiciary to try the accused. But the judiciary is about to be controlled by the corrupt government.
Are you really the only person to believe CFK and her government are not corrupt?
If you want evidence of theft and corruption. A friend of the family passed away recently, and in his will he passed on his assets to his next of kin. However, as soon as the government found out, the froze his assets, stole them and refuse to give a nickle to the family.
His family is going through a maze of bureaucracy, though I have the feeling that the money is as good as stolen.
Is that evidence enough for you Stevie? Do you even reside in Argentina? Clearly, you are either related to someone who is benefiting from the corrupt government (possibly employed), a poor scoundrel that receives welfare, living in a foreign country, or just plain stupid.
I've experienced all the crap first hand. It's suffocating, and constantly painful. I'm getting the hell out of here as soon as possible, because it appears that stupidity works faster than a malignant cancer. Three years ago it wasn't like this!
There was enough documentary evidence to do so, you say
Well, obviously, there wasn't, as no action was taken.
Or have you seen the proofs you are talking about?
Because in Uruguay, no proofs have been presented about money laundrying
All Lanata is doing, is trying to add wood to the fire. Use the momentum of the protests. But he has no proof, or he would've had presented them already.
I have no idea if CFK and her government are corrupt, but until I see proofs I will not judge them.
Otherwise I would have to judge most state leaders and their goverments equally. And so should you.
And if that is the case, I can assure you you have bigger worries than if CFK is the corrupted one or not...
@52 Well, obviously, there wasn't, as no action was taken. Do you understand the concept of corruption? If the government is corrupt and is also responsible for handing the evidence of their own corruption to the judiciary, they are not going to do so.
Why not spend a little time today watching the programme and reading the details of the evidence. Clearly you have not or you might not be quite so dismissive.
You know, every Argentine I have ever spoken with admits their government is corrupt. Why do you deny it?
Stevie, Don't you find it odd that all the cases involving the KS have arrived at the same judges desk and then they were shelved?
As the judge increases his wealth?
Filthy filthy place
and
The Bag lady from BA and FATMAX will pay in the end
Elaine
I like your logic.
In Europe they use the same logic when they put immigrants in jail for crimes the locals get fined for.
Then they come up with statistics showing the jails are full of immigrants :)
Quite simple, Elaine, the reason is because you only talk to Argentines that agrees with you, the other ones you dismiss as not being Argentines.
Personally, I never said there was no corruption in Argentina.
There most surely is.
Just like in the UK.
And you can show me your corrupted lists all you want.
We could also make a list.
@Stevie The difference is stevie baby we are not brainwashed from an early age we are happy to talk about our downfalls and our failing, both kirchner's were as in the case of Nazi Nestor are are corrupt as in the case of is nasty widow wise up and admit it ands while your at it fill us in on the life and times of the glamorous playboy MAXIMO how does he earn his peso's
@57 you only talk to Argentines that agrees with you, the other ones you dismiss as not being Argentines What? Are you saying the people I meet in Argentina that don't agree with me are all foreigners living there? I think I would notice. No, they are Argentines. They generally don't know what my opinion is because I am there to hear their views not convince them of mine.
(Obviously, with friends I am prepared to debate and disclose my views).
And, no, the corruption in Argentina is not like in the UK. There is corruption in all societies but the level of corruption varies considerable. Argentina is right up there with the trophy holders regarding high levels of corruption. It is endemic throughout society there.
I can only say that when I brought my money into Uruguay it was a pantomime.
It started with the money needed to buy our house and although I had set up accounts in BROU the year before IN PERSON, BROU insisted that my International money dealer (the best in the UK) investigate MY UK BANK before they would accept them onto the accredited role held by BROU under the anti-money laundering Laws of Uruguay.
THEN my money dealer each time they move money from the various accounts I have MUST give an undertaking that the moneys are from my account ONLY. BROU provided a ‘secret number’ (I think they mean a number assigned to these transfers) which MUST be present in a location specified on the transfer document.
The first few times it took BROU more than a week to process their end of the transfer and put the money into one of my BROU accounts. After two years of moving my three times a year transfer of my pensions and other income we are down to three days. It does of course cost me nearly USD 100 for BROU’s diligence and paying the money to my account EACH TIME THEY DO IT!
I have NEVER experienced this level of investigation of the source of money in other countries I have moved money to or out off. Perhaps it’s just another hidden tax that Uruguay is very good at.
Y has also done this has never been a good defence of X's acts. Besides, given the mad cow's latest victory (i.e., the humiliation and submission of the judiciary), Argentina is now, beyond any reasonable doubt, a fascist country. In a fascist country corruption is the rule, not the exception. Wake up, laddie.
Stevie, Don't you find it odd that all the cases involving the Ks have arrived at the same judges desk and then they were shelved?
As the judge increases his wealth?
odd that
Huh? All of the Ks Corruption cases have been shelved by Oyarbide. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
Shelved, not investigated and not closed either
Hmm
I hear he has some nice jewelry and expensive vacations
I wonder how
You should at least watch Lanata's Periodismo para Todos before saying that he has presented no proof of his accusations, he has presented a whole truck load of proof, so much so that Urugayan newspapers and TV shows have taken up his cause, and as he himself says:
My job is to investigate and expose corruption, it is the Judicary?s job to take our investigation as a starting point and to carry out it's own investigation and, if necessary to arrainge the guilty and to try them.
He has presented enough evidence against Lázaro Baez to show that he is involved in the corrupt use of public funds, and has laundered at least €55 million!!!!!!!!
When I was ready to get out of BA I thought I would move to Montevideo so I went around different neighborhoods with a Real Estate agent, who pointed out the drug lord's houses.
I asked why so many lived there and he said it was because it was easy to wash the money in Uruguay.
But I think the USA has a little chat with them about that recently...
Simón
Then why is he all of the sudden forgetting to mention Uruguay, but still claims money laudrying was made?
If it wasn't in Uruguay, where was it?
And if he did have proofs, as you say, where are that proof?
And if it does exist, why doesn't he use it, instead of bailing his last statements?
The valijero, Leonardo Fariña, andthe cuevista, Elaskar, were the ones who mentioned Uruguay as the first step in the laundry chain, they said, and at least one Urugayan newspaper/TV show has obtained proof of that Mr. Fariña took bags of Euros to Uruguay and from there sent the money on to Panama, Belize, and finally Switzerland.
Now it is up to the Argentine, Uruguayan, Panamanian and Belizean Judiciaries to investigate whether the money laundering took place or not. The Swiss have already frozen Lázaro Baez's accounts because they appear to accept that the accusations are true!!!!!
I'm talking about Lanata and his accusations of money laudrying made in Uruguay.
Now he says that money laudrying was made, but he refuses to name Uruguay as the place it happened.
Did the story change all of the sudden?
Did his proofs change with the story?
Because surely he wouldn't have mentioned money laudrying in Uruguay should he have no proofs.
I really hope he continues to mention Uruguay, it will indeed show this gentlemans true face.
And if he lied about that, he most probably is lieing about everything.
I can assure you his truths are far less convenient than his lies.
@40 A simple question. Who told you it was the truth?
@42 Unfortunately, for you, everyone can see that argieland is corrupt. And criminal. And depraved. And inept. And larcenous. And mendacious. So your attempt to defend it and its ass-licking, brown-nosing, ineffectual neighbour is a bit pointless.
@61 Hahahahahahaha. Of course. You can't afford use and throw. Does that go for toilet tissue? Yes. You can always use the other side! And the bits either side. And don't forget to lick your fingers clean!
@64 Even more hahahahahahahaha. You need to read some history. The fascists in power always put the fascists not in power in jail. Always assuming that they haven't already shot or otherwise executed them. Same goes for all other totalitarian philosophies. Commies, nazis, populists. They're all the same.
@71 Hahahahahahaha. Notice this bit? Argentine deputies travelled to Uruguay. Would you like a translation? It means argie cover-up politicians and hit men travelled to Uruguay. For what purpose? To destroy the evidence and silence the accuser, of course! That must be obvious even to someone as dumb as you.
Nestor and Cristina have been linked with corruption for years now and you know the old saying there's no smoke without fire ofcourse Kirchner is corrupt to the bone did she not lower herself and have a slanging match on her facebook account recently when an Argentine asked her how she as made so much money since being in power?/ very classy indeed.
@ Stevie there's no smoke without fire where the kirchner's are concerned she even claims she made millions by representing high class clients as a lawyer-what a joke if she said as a hooker that would be more believable but as everyone tells you she's as bent as a five bob note
In his programme yesterday, he concentrated on Lázaro Baez's corrupt practices in Santa Cruz, not on the Ruta del Dinero, so obviously he didn't mention Uruguay again, it is now up to the Argentine and Urugyan Juducuaries to investigate whether Uruguay formed part of the Ruta del Dinero or not. Lanata has made his accusations, he doesn't need to keep repeating them!!!!!!
@ Stevie I give it to you straight Stevie boy and where your botox queen is concerned would love nothing more to see that piece of latin shit rot in hell, the sooner she joines her bossed eyed husband the better for all.
@Stevie the only wishful thinking come from Argentines like you wishing for a decent meal and a safe place to live $7 a day does not go far where for me living on The sandbanks peninsula in rural Dorset life is just so dam sweet
andy the toe
It's not for you to decide what a good standard of living means for different people.
All I know is that SA wont be paying for yours anymore
@ Stevie Not aware SA paid for anything where I am concerned my man but what is worrying the thought of 25% of Argentines living on less than $7 per day that's over 10 million people in your beloved Argentina perhaps Crissy could spread some of her well earned wealth LOL
@Stevie the bitch got fired for being ashamed of being argentine and telling me she was Spanish I should have known though she smelt of shit most days and she was disgustingly hairy like most Argentine birds
Depressingly, CFK et al will not be going to jail any time soon.
1)Menem for example is not only not in jail hes still a politician - everyone regardless of their political positition believes that he stole big, big time whilst president
2)The problem isnt just CFK, Boudou, Moreno etc, its endemic throughout the political system. If they go down they'll drag everyone else with them.
@stevie your leader the botox queen doesn't just rape and pillage your country but she is also hateful to fellow Argentines here take a look it's in both English and Spanish quite an eye opener.
@stevie joke about it as much as you like it just shows what the botox queen is really like a nasty piece of shit-if that was our leader dissing his own people he would have been gone along time ago but I guess that's the difference between a real democracy and a plastic one
it's a well known fact Blair acted on wrong intelligence information there's a big difference to kirchner openly saying in another country that basicley Argentine universities and it's people are shit
All Prime ministers make a lot of money after leaving office but as I said earlier in Argentina they seem to make it while in office I wonder how that can be
andy of the toes
Don't worry.
If it's true that CFK has indeed made profit as you claim, Argentina will most surely follow the UK's example and deal with it as the self proclaimed Knights of Justice did with Tony Blair.
I seriously doubt if anything said on here by the Brits, even backed up with the ‘proofs’ (proof) would ever change a thing as far as you are concerned.
I am not a Blair supporter in any way but he did not obtain money by corruption whilst in office. That he has chosen to cash in on his time as PM afterwards is perfectly legal if rather distasteful. Not quite as revolting as his wife selling signed photographs of him.
What CFK is being accused of is massive corruption whilst in office. I am surprised that you seem to be a lone voice in denying this when Argentines, even her supporters, believe this to be true - though they dismiss it as par for the course. You know, 'everyone does it'.
We don't have to produce the evidence here to satisfy you, Stevie, because we are merely commenting on the story. However it is encouraging that CFK's long known about but never dealt with corruption is finally being questioned in the open by Argentines.
Sorry, that doesn't make sense at all. If you cannot see the difference between stealing whilst in office and smuggling the money out of the country and a legitimate career on the speaker circuit when no longer in office, you need to look at your own moral judgement.
Elaine
Blair made his cash while in office, he just didn't cash in, that is a fact.
CFK made her cash while in office, she also cashed in, that's an allegation.
And there is no moral difference in cashing in after or before leaving office, the act is the same.
@ Truth_Tellіng_Trοll My dear troll just type in the Words Kirchner, corruption and Argentina into any good search engine we can't all be wrong and that includes the millions of Argentines who are now waking up and smelling the coffee and no I do not reside in Northern Ireland
My friend I have no intention to come to a country that started an illegal war where it's people danced in the streets after listening to propaganda that you were winning the conflict then years later try to distance yourself from it and blame a military junta-you are all the same brainwashed, obsessed and deluded.
How is that shit hole Mendoza these days last time I was there nearly lost my passport and had tomato sauce spilt on me.
I have been stepped of cruisliner was met by dirty hairy Argentine hookers being gay it was not a pleasant experience would I go again ? North korea would be more tempting
Yeah, this has deteriorated into name calling and insults again.
To recap, CFK and the K oligarchy is about as corrupt as is possible. That the average Argentine will now pay the price is a pity.
Now CFK has gained control of the judiciary, I doubt she will ever be tried in a court in Argentina but it is quite likely that the people there will dispense an appropriate punishment.
It will be interesting to see how much more the general public will take.
@Truth_Tellіng_Trοll NOSSY if you read the post I was taking the piss out of you after trying all these months that Mendoza was a good place to live-not quite what the British F and C office tells us its a shit hole by all accounts and not very safe
But you spent months telling us all how wonderful it is don't you remember???..
Crime
The most common crimes are distraction theft, bag snatching and armed robberies. Take particular care in restaurants and internet cafes, on public transport and in the tourist areas of San Telmo, La Boca and Retiro. Keep a close eye on your personal possessions at all times. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash or wearing jewellery. Avoid isolated or poorly lit areas at night.
Con-men have been known to rob tourists while an accomplice pretends to help remove ketchup or mustard that has been ‘accidentally’ sprayed on them. There have also been reports of thieves posing as hotel guests and snatching bags while tourists are checking into hotels or hostels. Another common tactic is slitting handbags in crowded places and snatching mobile phones while they are being used.
Passport thefts are common especially in Buenos Aires and Mendoza. Leave your passport in a hotel safe or security box and keep a photocopy of the details page with you at all times.
Kidnappings and so called ‘express kidnappings’ occur in Argentina. Victims are normally held while criminals empty their bank accounts with cash cards. Once the ransom is paid the victim is usually quickly released. It is common for thefts to take place when withdrawing cash from ATMs.
Indeed it sounds a wonderful place to visit that Tomato ketchup ruined my Ralph Lauren shirt
@ Truth_Tellіng_Trοll For you information I live in Southern England on the Sandbanks Peninsula look me up some time though you would def feel out of place in such an up market area
It was nice to see two Argentine Queens Truth_Tellіng_Trοll and Stevie having a go at eachother
andy
You are in the UK.
You might be dining Patagonian lamb.
You might be drinking red wine.
But for sure you are not on any beach.
They simply not qualify...
Andy, good choices...I hope you're not putting any ketchup on that lamb...or on your shirt (leave that to some hairy Argie hooker)... and what's for pudding?
Famous Argentine journalist says that CFKs mob control 80% of the Argentine media and effectively use it as a propaganda tool.
Having taken control of the media, disrupted her opposition and made a personal family fortune, she is now aiming at the Judiciary.
Stevie thinks that if this guy had any proof he should go to the Judiciary - parts of which she already controls and has already used to amass her fortune and political power.
If he doesnt do that he must be lying. QED.
Inherent Irony in the situation anyone?
So, recently we have:
Peso becoming worthless. Government sponsored terrorism against other national airlines. Government sponsored seminar on how to write out the 82 war from the falklands islands question. Imminent censure from IMF. Imminent court-order to pay up on debts from US court.
but MORE important than ANY of that... something about the daughter(?) of the trolley-dolly ambassador wearing a slutty-dress somewhere....? WTF is all that about..and how is it relevant to this article?
Oh, and the usual If you dont live in Argentina you're not allowed to comment Bullshit.../me yawns & points at all the Arg expats.
Nice attempt of a beach...
Now, where should I start...
Cabo Polonio.... nah
Punta del Diablo....or
Santa Teresa!
Barra del Chuy?
No, lets go all in and go for Punta del Este...
166 (Anbar)
You missed out the Camel toe saga and the bit where Andy steps of a cruiseliner in to Mendoza and gets ketchup squirted at him by two hairy hookers.
'@Anbar click on the blog scroll down to the pic of Castro and her daughter in denin shorts dirty blond looking bird clear sign of a camel toe going on there
I don’t write-off Ulster just because of all the “problems”.
That's troubles”, Toby. :-)
you have religious hatred and knee cappings.
Oh dear, are you sure??
Have you been to Ulster, Toby?
There are no bandits running through the streets, kneecapping innocents and taking their purse (or man-purse), no worries for you!
I remember driving through Belfast in the days of fire-gutted cars and row-houses in the poor neighbourhoods (Catholic), the soldiers in every doorway, the Checkpoints, the barricades. The family car damaged as the family business was bombed.
In spite of all this, it was sectarian violence and apart from searches in the bigger shops, it was 'business as usual'.
'Kneecapping' was not directed at regular civilians or tourists.
There's still religious hatred, but things have changed since the 70's.
Good God Toby - what have you been reading???
You must be scared shitless about leaving Mendoza,
all those drug addicts in Alaska, Red Indians in the USA slums, kneecapping purse snatchers, and 'foreigners' of all sorts, just waiting to prey on a spotty-faced Argentine kid!!
This guy dweebie has been trolling from 8.17am to 1.45 am non stop....he's either a psycopath or La Campora are paying him by the comment & he has to earn his 7 pesos to survive
Lots of discussion , Stevie and Elaine in action but are we not missing the main point ? The Government control 80 percent of media . If Clarin crumbles they will have 100 percent . End of democracy ! Do the Argentines really want to be like Cuba or the Soviet Union ? And worse still no BBC world news on short wave ! What gave hope to the opressed .
BEYOND HYPOCRESY.
It's necesary to date a couple of important detaills.
Jorge lanata used to be a great journalist for any years, some of his investigations were excellent, in fact, he was one of the few jornalists who were brave enough in order to criticise the corruption cases that involve the clarin group, mostly in relation to papel prensa.
However, since he has been hired by that group, he has became into a decadent hypocrite who makes reports only in relation to the corruption cases that involve c. f. k's govt., but he doesn't say absolutly anything in reference to the corruption cases that involve the government of opponent politic parties, especially mauricio macri, who is one of the politic partners of the clarin group.
In reference to his programmes, many of his reports are usually full of lies, and most them are often refuted with solid sources by the programmes that support c. f. k.'s government. If may of you prefer believing what this hypocrite says, i respect it, but unfortunatelly you'll be buying just mediatic operations.
Respecting the soposed 80% of the media that the govt. controlls. It is one of his usuall idiot arguments, but he doesn't say that while it is true that many chanels and radios support c. f. k's govt., they all are nothing if you compared them with the power of the clarin group which represents the 53% of thee media in the country, beside, it has 250 licences of radio and tv in the whole country.
On the other hand, before being hired by the clarin group, lanata was one of the main supporters of the new broadcast law sanctioned in 2009, which doesn't allow the oligopolic concentration, but now he doesn't say anything about it. The new law allows no more than 25 licences for all the mediatic corporations, however the clarin group could get all the injuctions that it wanted, thanks to the entaills that it has with the most corporative sector of the justice, in order to not to comply with the new law.
As you have just demonstrated, there is no need for anyone else to criticise Macri, the government and La Campora are doing just fine in that regard.
Lanata is NOT obligated to criticise Macri or anyone else, in order to criticise CFK.
Certainly, it is more significant that the President is attempting to control the media, by statute, than a minor story of the usual mud-slinging between your politicians.
Interesting that you note Lanata was a great journalist, but ceased to be when he wrote negative things about CFK!
Argentina is a huge country, a large number of media outlets would be required to provide national service.
250 licences reduced to 25 would reduce the size of Ckarin by 90%, yet government outlets owned ostensibly by various companies would easily shout down CLARIN by unopposed broadcasting of government messages and propaganda.
TROY TOMPEST.
Sorry, but your answer can't be more decadent.
Lanata says all the time that he is an independent journalist, and criticises some of his collegues who manifest publicly their support to c. f. k's govt., he says those people don't do journalism, but propaganda.
If he were really independent and serious, he woulnd't criticise only the corruption cases that involve c. f. k's govt., like he often does, he would criticise also the corruption cases that involve the politic partners of the clarin group and others. I'm sure that beyond the rejection that you feel for c. f. k's govt., you are intelligent enough in order to realize of it.
In relation to the chanels or newspapers that support c. f. k's govt., you can agree or not on their editorial lines, however they are much more serious every time they inform about different issues, beside, there are also interesting debates about the corruption cases that involve c. f. k's govt.
Anyay, for me the best chanel is the public television, canal 7, especially it's news editions.
I think it's necesary to have an opened and honest debate about the relation between the media and the governments. It has always been important for absolutly all the governments in the world.
In a democratic nation, any chanel or newspaper have right to have any editorial line in relation to any govt., however it doesn't have any right to lie to the people, like some chanels and newspapers often do (clarin, la nación, and perfil).
The new broadcast law aims to reduce the hight oligopolic concentration that we have in the country. I would like to know how are the regulations in the u. k., in order to avoid oligopolic concentrations.
In the case of the u. s. a., if a busssienss man owns a chanel, he can't own a newspaper.
In argentina, owning a chanel, and a newspaper by the same person is not forbiden, in fact, the clarin group owns not just 250 licences along the country, but also the largest spanish spoken newspaper of the world.
”In a democratic nation, any chanel or newspaper have right to have any editorial line in relation to any govt., however it doesn't have any right to lie to the people, like some chanels and newspapers often do (clarin, la nación, and perfil).
They lie??
Who decides they have lied?
If they had really lied, they would be sued and charged with libel in our countries.
Of course, it would need to be proven.
Have you proven that CLARIN etc. have lied?
Or is the government just angry at what they print or say.
Too bad. That is known as Freedom of the Press.
Our governments are regularly, sometimes relentlessly, pursued by the Press.
Nothing can be done to stop it, not should it.
In argentina, owning a chanel, and a newspaper by the same person is not forbiden, in fact, the clarin group owns not just 250 licences along the country, but also the largest spanish spoken newspaper of the world.”
Nothing wrong with that, but CFK's government is determined to stop that and limit to 25.
TROY TOMPEST.
I prove everyday that clarin, la nación, and perfil lie. In fact, i believed in clarin untill 5 years ago. But since 2008, i have started to realize that it's not reliable anymore, the mediatc operations that those newspapers usually do, are refuted with solid arguments and sources by programmes that support c. f. k's govt. Anyway, i don't need those programmes in order to realize that those newspapers are not reliable, when i hear cristina's statements, and after i read what is published in some of those newspapers, i can see that they often distort what she says, or make a shamefull manipulation of her words. You can reject as much as you like what i say, i'ts your problem, but unfortunatlly you'll continue having a too partial view about argentina's situation.
You are mixing freedom of press, with mediatic operations. I don't think you are neather stupid nor ignorant. I'm sure that you know that what you said was actually a distorted interpretation of what freedom of expression really is, especially if i had told you previouslly that those newspapers lie. However you need this kind of stupid arguments, in order to continue rejecting a government that you don't like. It would be good for you to find better arguments, if you are so detractor of c. f. k's policies.

It's happening in the UK as well but that is driven by the last Labour Party hand-outs to bribe the recipients to vote for whichever socialist numbnut is 'Leader'. The trouble is once you become a dependent family the children think that is what life ia all about: sponging and petty crime.
The trouble is once you become a dependent family the children think that is what life ia all about: sponging and petty crime.
Yes, we have that here too, multi-generational welfare families - no role model for being responsible and employed.
They become used to being at home - maybe 'babysitting' under the table etc., but eventually, mainstream employment cramps their lifestyle.
At the same time, we also have legitimate, noble working-poor, struggling families where the parent(s) work three low-paying jobs to give their children what they need, and just barely eke out a living!
I have a lot of respect for them - we have the highest urban property values in Canada, and people with families that cannot break through the glass ceiling of Minimum Wage.
After WW2 my father (with his bullet wound in his leg) worked as a miner and then got a better job in a gas works. My mother would not go back to work until I went to school so SHE could look after me and that was a part time job in a printing factory which meant she was always there for ME.
So I grew up with a work ethic which seems totally missing from a large section of the population today, without getting into the 'my dads wealthy I can laze about syndrome' which you also see.

Apr 29th, 2013 - 10:18 am - Link - Report abuse 0Cristina Kirchner / Official
The result: corruption cases take an average of 14 years to work through the system, according to the non-profit Center for the Study and Prevention of Economic Crimes, and only 15 in 750 cases have led to convictions.

the Blogger rightly points out Castro's daughter is no Pippa Middleton and should dress the part and not show herself as something that resembles a street walker just like Kirchner and the two Castro's they come across as looking trashy un kept and dirty

Apr 29th, 2013 - 11:49 am - Link - Report abuse 0The one person who does not want the truth to come out is CFK.

@Pirate Love, Indeed Kirchner is THE NEW Junta in TIGHTS

Apr 29th, 2013 - 01:06 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You assert that the media are acting as judge and jury but no one has been prosecuted or punished.

Apr 29th, 2013 - 02:43 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It started with the money needed to buy our house and although I had set up accounts in BROU the year before IN PERSON, BROU insisted that my International money dealer (the best in the UK) investigate MY UK BANK before they would accept them onto the accredited role held by BROU under the anti-money laundering Laws of Uruguay.
Still a great country though. :o)

Seems like Lanata all o the sudden forgot everything about the money laundrying in Uruguay...
He shares a trait with you lot
That bloody convenience...
Stevie:
Apr 29th, 2013 - 04:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You should at least watch Lanata's Periodismo para Todos before saying that he has presented no proof of his accusations, he has presented a whole truck load of proof, so much so that Urugayan newspapers and TV shows have taken up his cause, and as he himself says:
My job is to investigate and expose corruption, it is the Judicary?s job to take our investigation as a starting point and to carry out it's own investigation and, if necessary to arrainge the guilty and to try them.
He has presented enough evidence against Lázaro Baez to show that he is involved in the corrupt use of public funds, and has laundered at least €55 million!!!!!!!!
When I was ready to get out of BA I thought I would move to Montevideo so I went around different neighborhoods with a Real Estate agent, who pointed out the drug lord's houses.
Apr 29th, 2013 - 04:21 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I asked why so many lived there and he said it was because it was easy to wash the money in Uruguay.
But I think the USA has a little chat with them about that recently...

Apr 29th, 2013 - 04:23 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Then why is he all of the sudden forgetting to mention Uruguay, but still claims money laudrying was made?
If it wasn't in Uruguay, where was it?

Apr 29th, 2013 - 04:49 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Now he says that money laudrying was made, but he refuses to name Uruguay as the place it happened.
Apr 29th, 2013 - 04:53 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@42 Unfortunately, for you, everyone can see that argieland is corrupt.

Apr 29th, 2013 - 04:58 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Why did your Argentine deputies travel to Uruguay to cover up the evidence when the one with the evidence supposedly is Lanata in Argentina?

I am not a Blair supporter in any way but he did not obtain money by corruption whilst in office. That he has chosen to cash in on his time as PM afterwards is perfectly legal if rather distasteful. Not quite as revolting as his wife selling signed photographs of him.

We don't have to produce the evidence here to satisfy you, Stevie, because we are merely commenting on the story. However it is encouraging that CFK's long known about but never dealt with corruption is finally being questioned in the open by Argentines.

Apr 29th, 2013 - 10:02 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Crime

Apr 29th, 2013 - 11:11 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Famous Argentine journalist says that CFKs mob control 80% of the Argentine media and effectively use it as a propaganda tool.
WTF is all that about..and how is it relevant to this article?

you have religious hatred and knee cappings.

May 01st, 2013 - 12:12 am - Link - Report abuse 0BEYOND HYPOCRESY.
May 01st, 2013 - 06:14 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It's necesary to date a couple of important detaills.
Axel
May 01st, 2013 - 10:32 pm - Link - Report abuse 0As you have just demonstrated, there is no need for anyone else to criticise Macri, the government and La Campora are doing just fine in that regard.
May 01st, 2013 - 11:33 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Sorry, but your answer can't be more decadent.
Axel
May 02nd, 2013 - 02:14 am - Link - Report abuse 0Decadent? Gosh!!

May 02nd, 2013 - 06:36 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I prove everyday that clarin, la nación, and perfil lie.

@208 & 209
May 03rd, 2013 - 11:18 am - Link - Report abuse 0I am from a mid 1940s working class family.
That's why I left the UK: it's bollocks.
