who cares about this really !! let her have a little victory for a change ! It's obvious she spends lots of US$ on items of clothes anyway ! she even went to La Plata waving her US$54,000 watch in the faces of the locals while the they desperately need cash to re-build their lives...she's not exactly a lady of the people.. just a Eva Peron wanna be desperately looking for fame.

She isn't just a lady of the people, she's the people's iron lady =) And she deserves a bit of glamour and luxury, who would be churlish enough to deny her that? Just don't libel her; and btw, from my observing of other libel cases over the years, I really don't fancy Corriere's chances of getting this overturned now. Just apologise and move on, hacks...

@4 I'd say Miriam Quiroga deserves to live the life of glamour & luxury =) and Krestina should concentrate of improving her image as head of state rather than frantically spouting off on tweeter & fighting with the media !

Anyone wearing a $54000 should be ashamed of themselves.

The president gets paid around 200, 000 dollars a year. Even on that salary a $54, 000 watch is ridiculously ostentatious.

She wears such an expensive watch because shes got too much money - illicity gained (the evidence keeps coming in) - and no class whatseoever.

When a 1/4 of the population live in dire poverty, children forage barefoot on rubbish tips and flood victims (as a result of ignored warnings to the K 'government' about woeful flood defences) in La Plata plead with the 'government' to fix this desperate reoccurring but relatively easy to fix problem I'd say the president wearing a $54 000 watch is intensely obscene.

She should sell the watch and buy some new wigs.

@4 You moron. If you were here helping starving children here instead of gratifying yourself in your own excrement, you'd realize that she doesn't help the poor. She purchases votes with other people's money. There are poor that don't vote for her, and children that can't vote for her. Neither of these groups receive any funding.

Her extravagant clothing and plastic surgery are symbols of greed and vanity. Notice that the country as a whole becomes poorer, while her fortune increases beyond her ability to generate legitimate income.

It's the crooked wig tht bothers me. You'd think with all the stolen look she'd be able to afford something nice and in a natural color.

A 700 euro fine and 41,000 euro in the poorbox... doesn't sound like a KFC win to me.... sounds like the old 'a farthing for defamation' award....
