Perhaps they should deal with the crippling level of unemployment first?

Perhaps they are trying an 'Argentina' by diverting attention away from their 26%+ unemployment and collapsed economy with something that in the grand scheme of things shouldn't even be discussed when they have such major problems at home.

It's just the same as Argentina, when it has serious internal problems (like right now) it starts its rhetoric and bullying of the peaceful people of the Falkland Island's.........

Well ( according to wikipedia ):-

An Anglo-Dutch force captured Gibraltar from the Kingdom of Castile in 1704 during the War of the Spanish Succession on behalf of the Habsburg pretender to the Spanish throne. The territory was subsequently ceded to Britain “in perpetuity” under the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713.

Now then, I have used my mad internet skillz to look up the meaning of:- “in perpetuity” and Yahoo says that it means :-

“endless or indefinitely long duration or existence; eternity.”

So this spanish turd can stick it up his ar*e and f**k off while he's doing it.

@7 Very good point, it seems they all want what isn't theirs yet don't like to give up what they stolen, Catalonia, Basque, Tenrife etc

Spain should focus more on becoming a truly democratic nation and allow the Catalans to hold a vote, this is what separates Britain from the likes of Argentina and Spain, we will allow a vote, its called democratic rights something we have in the UK but sadly not in Spain, China nor Argentina.

Lets not forget this was a dictatorship nation as early as the 1970s

“The territory was subsequently ceded to Britain “in perpetuity” under the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713.”

Britain broke the terms of the Treaty of Utrecht long ago by permitting Moors and Jews to settle in Gibraltar. This was banned under the Treaty. However, not even Franco was willing to try to reclaim the territory on that basis.

I wonder when the 'veterans of the calling the Gibraltar Brits funny names war' will start burning the Jack outside the British Embassy in Madrid?

Gorgeous Toni would be up for a free trip to teach them how to colour a flag and save what bit of money they have left.

You can see where the argies get their cowardly ways from though.

Spain. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing. The small, useless, faggot-end of Europe. Overweening pretensions. Okay against “natives” with bows and arrows. Useless against a real nation. Like England. What a pity about France. Being the greater danger, it had to be destroyed first. And we forgot about Spain. Still. Next time.

Writing this post from Orihuela, Murcia, I can catagorically state that the Spanish people here have no interest whatsoever in Gibraltar. The whole issue has been brought about by a failing and unpopular government clutching at anything it can to divert attention from its massive internal problems, just like another Spanish speaking mess of a country we all know.
If the Brits dropped Spain as a holiday destination, they would be utterly fooked here, they rely massively on UK tourism.

    “Ceuta & Melilla?”

Nice one Islode, exposing Spanish colonialism.

And Spain-try reading the Treaty of Utrecht-like Argentina-spouts off a lot of manufactured turd instead of reading history/the wording of treaties.

Let's help Spain and Argentina off, repeat after me please, A, B, C, D ,E (etc).

Consider Ceuta, Melilla and the Canary Islands. Note their proximity to Morocco and argentine justifications for its “claims”. So,these territories belong to Morocco. Why doesn't Spain give them up? Imperialism, colonialism, shittism?

Look don’t blame the whistle blower,

But we heard on the grape vine,
The leaders of Argentina and Spain were seen in a drug boozed up cellar
Crying and shouting anti hate messages abt Britain.

Apparently they both know that the only victory they will ever ever achieve is when they finally resign or drop dead…

    Just saying like ??
