CFK calls for ‘empowerment of the people’ and another ten years of Kirchnerism

Full article 59 comments

Argentine President Cristina Fernandez rallied a huge crowd Saturday night celebrating the 10-year government that she and her late husband Nestor Kirchner began in 2003. Her voice breaking, she called it a victorious decade, “won not by a government but by the people” and called for “the empowerment of the people” to defend what has been achieved in the ‘won decade’. “ to visit stores and supermarkets and check on prices. The task was recommended mainly to La Campora, the youth group privileged by ‘Mom’ Cristina and which is headed by her son Maximo Kirchner.”

The purpose of this is to confiscate all the pies on the shelves for Maximo's food mountain.

If Kirchenerism lasts another 10 years it will be unpleasant but as it has forced the F I G to state their case overseas, it is an absolute gift, though like a bad tasting medicine.

If truth be known, it was 8 years ´ganada´ with the last 2 years losing most of the gains. Nestor kept a tight lid on things but CFK with her useless advisors have opened Pandora´s box & we can all see the results

CFK may not even last out her mandate because of all her health issues & already there are rumours that Bobo Boudou will be the candidate in 2015....this will surely be the end of kirchnerismo since even government officials accept the fact that he is probably the most inept & corrupt politician of them all

The only good news is that the campora trolls on here will soon be out in force checking prices out in supermarkets & will not have time to post their blind ideology any more........the ones who actually live in Arg that is!!!

@12 “left of existence”. As opposed to “right of existence”. In specific reference to CFK, do you have proper toilets in your “country”? If you have (1982 suggests you don't), have you noticed how turds go to the bottom? They only float in the sea because of the density of salt water. So the answer to your “guess” is that you will have to throw her in the ocean. Noting the stage your mentality has reached, you will know that, in medieval “trial by ordeal”, after being thrown into water, floating is proof of guilt whilst innocence is proven by sinking. Seems reasonable. Doesn't it?
@15 And the relevance of Scotland is.......? But let's actually answer your question. Scotland is welcome to “break away”. Once it has paid the sum in excess of £2 quadrillion that it owes England. Once it has paid the relocation costs of all the businesses that will relocate to a proper country, i.e England. Once it has figured out how to provide the homes and jobs for all the Scots that will have to be “repatriated”.
@18 Excellent! And the date for secession from the UN, UNESCO, OAS will be........? Don't forget to hand in your membership cards for IMF, World Bank, G20 and so forth. Remember the bit in the commercials? “You may not get any money back”. And you still owe over US$90 billion! And, if you don't pay, the alternative is war. Where we come in and take what we want. Because we can. And you owe so much. Just get used to paying. 1 peso for you, 49 for us. Think you'll be out of debt in a thousand years? Don't worry, we won't let you starve. Not quite. But you will need to give your “best”. Thus the whips, canes, cudgels and the castrations. Just “encouragement”!

    @15

Of course Scotland can break away...it's whether it will or not, and the choice is with the people of Scotland. That is self-determination.

Could the Falklands break away, of course...and they just voted 99.7% to keep the status quo.

However, could the Falklands break away from Argentina if the roles were reversed...of course not! They would need to be “educated” and informed what was in their interests.

In other words, Britain respects the self determination principle of the UN Charter and Argentina doesn't.

However as you are infatuated with Scottish Independence, and seem to think it is a certainty. I will wager $5000USD ( about 50000 Argentine pesos) with you that the Scottish people stay in the Union.

It's not a bad bet, the way the exchange rate is going, you'll probably win 1/2million pesos, by next year.

    How about it Nostril?

Of course you could ignore my even money bet, and take what the bookmakers are offering between 4 or 5 to 1 last time I looked, with an estimated of 65-70% voting against Independence.

Of course things can change in a year, but sadly probably not for you.

$5000 will still be unreachable riches for you, all your college mates will still detest you, and unless you pay the local whore, you'll still be a virgin.

Never mind Nostril...at least you can post made up shit on a Internet forum.

If in Britain now “loans” are called “handouts”, then you and the yanks are the biggest mendicant bums on the planet. You survive if only by handouts from China, Japan, Brazil, Arabs, and anyone else buying your bonds.

You all so arrogantly talk up the UK as infinitely more capable, that Argentina can't do without the world, yet we HAVE and for 10 years almost no access to capital markets.

The UK would collapse into dust in a week if you had the “handouts” shut-off.

What is funny on these boards is the misguided Argie view that somehow Scottish Independence is anti-English.

The likes of Nostril and Stevie can't understand that the English population want Scottish Independence more than the Scottish do (as borne out by virtually every opinion poll).

The main reason both sides seeing potential benefits for the split has absolutely nothing to do with Empire or land grabs, or annexing people's against their will, that is Argie behaviour.

The English mentality, is, and has been for the past 70 years, if you want to be part of the UK (in whatever form, BOT, crown dependency, integrated nation) we will do our best to make it happen. If you don't, we will work with you towards whatever ends you want for yourself. This is proven successful with a very strong Commonwealth.

If Scotland votes for Independence, England (and the rest of the UK) will fully support it, just as they support the Falkland Islanders.

The main reason for the Independence question being relevant is that both England and Scotland keep getting governments that they strongly didn't vote for, and it actually makes the democracy we are so proud of, seem a bit abnormal.

Scottish constituencies are smaller than English and the average Scottish voters vote is worth about 130% of an English voter. Devolved powers to the Scottish assembly are still voted for by Scottish MPs in Westminster for England and Wales.

These anomalies have led to a Conservative-Liberal coalition that neither England nor Scotland voted for.

90% of the Scottish don't want a Tory government, probably 75% -80% of English don't want a Gordon Brown style Socialist tax and spend government.

Anyway, as stated above, the most likely end-game is not independence but further devolution, and ideally equally sized constituencies and no Scottish voting on any devolved issues in Westminster.

    Win-win.

But, it's funny to see Nostril thinking Scottish independence is anti English. His ignorance is awesome.

The words “loan” and “bond” indicate an ability and a willingness to pay the money back, with the agreed amount of interest.

Since Argentina borrows money without the ability nor the intention to pay it back, those words hardly apply.

But back to the subject at hand, you want Argentina to cut itself off from international relations. The problem is under CFK you've become a net importer of fuel (ie not enough domestic production to satisfy domestic demand) and once the high inflation and government price controls on basic foodstuffs start to drive your domestic farmers out of business (since your fantasy government would cut them off from export markets) you'll become a net importer of food aswell.

Fantasies of self-reliance don't work when coupled with chronic mismanagement of basic industries.

Good luck with the famines and all that...

You do realize that there is no rule of law that protects people from violent crime. THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRUTH.
Beyond the usuall distortions, or omisions that some media corporations commit, reality is what always prevaills.
While it is true that the marches against c. f. k' govt. were very massive along the country, it was shown last saturday that her administration still has a high level of support among our people, but it's not the first time, last year, on dicember 10th, what is commemorated like the democracy day, it was shown also the huge support by many people to her policies.
I went to plaza de mayo last saturday, so, i can tell a lot about the party.
While it is true that the square was full of activists, most them young people, it is also true that there were many other people who weren't activists, and who went with their children to enjoy the concert, and to listen to c. f. k's statement.
It took me a half hour to get into plaza de mayo, because it was too crowed. Fortunatelly the night wasn't so cold, i could see planty of beatifull men, i eat some delicious choris, and after i went to the disco to have a good night my friends, and with many other atractive men. I spent a very nice moment.
On the other hand, it's evident that the hate that some people feel for c. f. k., doesn't let them have enough intellectual honesty, in order to analyze something so complicated like politic is, that's why they make the usuall pathetic analysis that i often read in some media corporations, or the tipicall stupid comparisons.
    C. f. k's govt, is not revolutionary in absolut, and it has some very negative aspects, and contradictions like all the governments. However only an ignorant who reads too partial information can deny, or invalid, or underestimate all the achievements that we could get in the last 10 years.
I alredy explained in many oportunities the true reasons of inflation, and i said also why it will take years to solve it. In the same way that i explained why in 2003, it was necesary for kichner's govt., to have clarins' support.

A great speech and from Cristinita =) The clarity of her analysis, about the need for the people themselves to safeguard their advances, really shines out as far superior to the articles “analysis” that only seems to see her in terms of gross crass power politics, and the content of her popular project therefore as irrelevant. Btw its just goes to show her sanity that she said she's “not eternal” - imagine the outcry is she'd said the opposite! - but there's a comfortable margin between eternity and an absolute cutoff in 2015 =) But even if she really doesn't want re-election, or indeed if these mid-terms are bad for her, I still predict her chosen successor will win. And be a good choice, NOT just some right winger in the Peronist Party...
