Fearing Andes volcano eruption, Chile and Argentina order mandatory evacuation

Chilean and Argentine authorities declared a red alert and ordered the mandatory evacuation of a 25-km radius around the active Copahue volcano, which straddles the border between the two Andean nations. Read full article

    They've barely recovered from teh last eruption

    Live volcanoes are fascinating, captivating things. I can highly recommend climbing the Villarrica volcano near Pucon. Besides the spectacular scenery, the experience of peering into the crater of a live volcano is surreal.

    Too bad for Argentina that most of our volcanoes dump their ash over there.

    It's a bit hilarious, because of prevalent winds, generally our volcanos dump their ash on the other side of the Andes.
