The brasiguayos are the ones that benefit from it, you know those Brazilians who don't give a damn at all paraguay, but are there because of cheap land (and pay almost no tax, while send alot of money back home, just over the border).
Jun 04th, 2013 - 04:39 pm - Link - Report abuse 0This isn't good. Argentina is going to start thinking Paraguay was stolen from them.
Jun 04th, 2013 - 04:52 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Indeed good news . But so much has still to be done , which could be the reason they voted for a successful businessman ! The country must reduce bureaucracy, currently more than eighty percent of expenditure goes on salaries of government and other state employees . The country must industrialise , it can not keep on surviving on exports of commodities . Soybean crops are great but not labour intensive as is cotton and other crops . More and more land has changed to soybean production causing more rural unemployment which is already very high . And more ,much more , must be done to decrease poverty . Tax evasion must be fought tooth and nail and , if that does not give enough income to help the poor , then taxes will need to be increased . Good luck to Cartes and his team . Fortunately he seems aware of the political danger of poverty .

Jun 05th, 2013 - 12:06 am - Link - Report abuse 0And to you that complain that very little goes to the poor, I would add that inflation in Argentina is harming the poor much more and destroying their possibility for a future.
