The most important date in the recent history of the Falkland Islands was commemorated on Friday, June 14 by Falkland Islanders and veterans of the 1982 war. Read full article

Add to the 200 plus crowd, over 60 youth group youngsters also on parade. One 7yr old Beaver Scout did a very smart job of lowering his unit flag for the 2 mins silence.

stink/dover will be pissed off in the British legion in Dover as we speak, probably spinning a few dits as well as how they served.................wait a minute that was a fantasy wasn't it?
This Brit., now also re-cycled as a Canadian, wishes you 'all the best' and remembers, with extreme gratitude those who sacrificed not only their lives but in many cases their future health and well-being, for your freedom.
Keep up the good work in teaching the future generations what the freedom of their forefathers cost others.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.
@8 well said but I THINK your post will be lost on the malvinisters on here, they are all thick or being paid to post and not one lives in rgenweener, why because they are cowards. Enjoy Falkland Islander's have a beer for me love to the globe
Peoples Malvinas seeks to give social depth of continental mass to the Cause Falklands.'s One million signatures will be presented to the UN Secretary General, looking people fill the UN to highlight the crisis of representation system this international organization, highly conditioned by geopolitical bids of the permanent members of the Security Council, especially the UK.'s one million signatures aims to create a political precedent in an international organization where people” does not take place, but whose decisions seriously affect their long-term collective future. Y Malvinas is a question of the future.
Get forty million signatures makes not one iota of difference it's not a situation that's amenable to a vox populi solution. If you seriously wanted to contest the UK's sovereignty the ICJ is available. But of course that's not going to happen because Argentina knows she wouldn't succeed, so it's back to the pot-banging.
Your brainwashed rants and signatures make no difference. Your nation has been treated by Nazi-like tactics to make you believe that fairy stories are true.
Argentina will NEVER be permitted to assume sovereignty of the Falklands archipelago.
Raul,
No dialogue for you,
No negotiations on OUR Sovereignty
No, you can't have OUR lslands either.
Get used to it,
You don't like it?
Tough bananas, Suck it up baby!
Falklanders
Best wished from Australia.
May you celebrate many more Liberation days!
Raul 2. Actions speak louder than words and despite all the rhetoric from the Argentine government in 1982 about the determination of the 'peoples malvinas' to take control of the Islands, you blew it. So signatures on petitons are just that - signatures from people who are not fair dikum. Get over it!
Mind you, what a way to settle international disputes, could solve the problem of wars and armed conflicts. Just collect signatures on a petition, who ever has the most, wins. I am frankly gobsmacked that this was never thought up before.
Scrap the UN folks, we now have something better, it's called MORI.
But would it go on the actual number of signatures, or the percentage of the population that signed it?
If it's the 1st then the UK would win, as we have a larger population.
If it's the 2nd then the UK would win, as we have a larger population. In fact in this case if only the people of the Falklands signed, then the would still win, as the larger percentage of the population would sign NOT to be Argentine.
Raul and those like him, really shows the true desperation of Argentina. As many people have commented on here, if Argentina actually HAD a case for sovereignty they would have gone to the ICJ years ago. I mean they go to the courts for just about everything else, so why not this issue?
We all know they won't go because their entire sovereignty claim is a web of lies, and if they went to court, those lies would be laid bare so even their indoctrinated people could see just how flimsy their case is.
However, back on topic. Congratulations to the people of the Falklands. After being invaded and imprisoned by the Argentines, they, more than most people, truly understand the value and importance of freedom.
They also understand and value the cost of that freedom, and commemorate and remember those who gave their lives so that they could live in freedom and peace.
It's a real pity that the Argentines don't understand that.
They use their war dead for political purposes only. It's despicable.
Thirty one years on and some of their dead still carry the epitaph of being Kown unto God, when a simple test would give them back their names, it's worse than despicable, it's down right bloody evil. A concept I never believed in, but thanks to their behaviour, am finding more and more possible.
Just another example of why the islanders will never live under their sovereignty, who would want to be governed by a country that even denies their heroes something as basic their name!!!
@12 Well, if it isn't Rabid Aggressive Uneducated Layabout 2-faced!
Why do you allow this? Malvinas Argentinas is a municipality in the Department of Colon of Cordoba Province. Wait a minute. Isn't colon what you have to go through on your way to rectum? And I do mean YOU.
Now, as for your million signatures, you should be ashamed of yourselves. There was Venezuela in dire need of toilet roll and you were using it! Now here's a little tip for you. If we wanted, the UK could come up with more than 60 million signatures. But we don't have to. Because our UN ambassador is already saying what we want saying. And basically that is Sod off, argieland. And for you, little boy, keep your authoritarian, dictatorial, greedy, lying propaganda to yourself.
@19 I disagree. I told 'em they could have the Falklands when the Sun got switched off.
@26 Consider. Britain claimed sovereignty in 1765. Did Spain ever claim sovereignty? Based on the 1770/71 Falklands Crisis, it would seem not. Why would the king of Spain back down if he had sovereignty? If Spain had no sovereignty, how is argieland claiming that inherited sovereignty from Spain? Besides, inheritance is not a legal means of territorial acquisition.
@27 Don't forget, they didn't want their war dead back. It was offered. And, 30 years later, they are making an issue of it! Come to think of it, they didn't want the PoWs back either, did they? I'd say they've disowned them. I trust FIG is refusing to allow argie scientists carry out any tests. Let them take the rotting, oozing corpses back. They'll fit right in, in argieland.
Oops, nearly forgot. Best wishes to all Islanders. And congratulations, yet again, to all British forces. We have faith in you because, in 1982, you proved, once again, that you are the best in the world.
Best Wishes to all Falkland Islanders from the Republic of Ireland on the anniversary of your liberation.
The future looks bright for you and contrary to what the DH's in Argentina think most of the world that can THINK also supports you. The ones that don't are just full of envy of your remarkable achievements in the face of the 'playground bully' next door.
Interesting that the map of Argentina on your sad website does not include South Georgia or the South Sandwich Islands. Have you finally given up on those?
I hope everyone on the FIs have a great weekend. Freedom is a precious thing.
The only Pueblos por Malvinas opinion that counts are the ones that actually live there (and the pueblos that you claim don't count for some totally illogical reason).
I think you will find that they gave their verdict in March
I think Argentina has become like those f***wits on TV talent shows who cry that the judges have taken away their dream when they get booted off. Dreams are great as long as no-one else has to suffer! Good luck with the signatures - but they will ultimately make no difference.
Lovely day, great turnout as you would expect from decent people who know the value of the sacrifices made for them in 1982.
TMBOA has to bribe people to turn out for her rants. Potbangers do it for free.
And that is the difference: The Dark Country will NEVER have the islands and by the way they are going will NEVER grow up but will always be Peronistas, MORONS.
Sounds like a petition to figure out what to so with the people living in Czechoslovakia... and Poland... and Denmark... without asking the people who live in Czechoslovakia... or Poland... or Denmark..
Raúl, I see that the Pueblos por Malvinas orgainization is NOT supported by the Qom, Wichi, Guarinie, Mapuche, or any other Pueblo Originario. Could it be that the peronist brainwashing doesn't take in the Amerindian mind????????
All the best to the Islanders and the meteoric progress you have made since 1982 when the Brits finally decided to support you.
@12
So if I raise a million signatures in UK to dictate what goes on in Argentina (even though it the business of the Argentine government and not mine), can I take those to the UN?
I hate to point out the 'bleedin obvious' Raul but if none of your signatures have come from people either born or who live on the Falklands , they are of as much relevance as 1million signatures asking China to give Tibet back.
If you want the Falkland Islands, go to the ICJ, with some proper evidence, not emotional tirades based on fantasy.
God Bless the British Armed Forces, their courage, professionalism and sacrifice, and the memory of Baroness Thatcher, Admiral Sir Henry Leach and Sir Rex Hunt. We will always remember them.
Just got back from the stadium, what an enjoyable game even though we started off a bit slow, the young guys Yarde, Eastmond & Burns all did exceptionally well.
Looks good for the upcoming world cup
Good to see polite respect in the crowd (apart from the whistling at penalties) & thank god there were no idiots trying to disrupt the game for their 'Malvinas ' cause........great to see the English take another trophy from the RGs!!!
Even though he is happily raising Akitas in the Okanagan, he must be aware this is Liberation Day I'm the Falklands, especially since his brothers or other family members were part of the Task Force that did the liberating.
A democratic monarchy is the best form of government. The head of state is not elected and is the embodiment of the people. When the prime minister bows to the Queen he is bowing to the people. Imagine that in a republic. Freedom AND democracy. God Save The Queen.

l am perfectly happy with our type of government.
We are freer than most so-called republics & as free as the good ones.
l can't see how it could be made any better.
Thank you, British Armed Forces for 1982.
