Trade surplus......BULLSHIT. With oil imports growing by the week....total bullshit.
Jun 20th, 2013 - 10:02 am - Link - Report abuse 017% in May from a year earlier to 7.09bn, driven mainly by a big jump in the purchase of capital goods - including railroad cars and engines from China - and parts and accessories for capital goods.
They must have forgot to report the 90% increase in oil imports.
I see I am not the only one who is just a little skeptical of the these figures!
Jun 20th, 2013 - 10:50 am - Link - Report abuse 0My guess is GDP will be reported as 2.8-2.9% yoy since they have to pay the GDP linked bonds over 3%.
Jun 20th, 2013 - 11:26 am - Link - Report abuse 070 storefronts are empty on FL Ave!

Jun 20th, 2013 - 11:44 am - Link - Report abuse 0The economy is not the only thing that has cooled in Argentina. It is a very cold winter. I hope CFK has enough US$ to pay for the gas she will need to import.
Jun 20th, 2013 - 12:21 pm - Link - Report abuse 07. CFK cut the LNG imports by HALF in June!!
Jun 20th, 2013 - 01:45 pm - Link - Report abuse 0LNG tankers are waiting in Uruguay for wires that aren't coming

Jun 20th, 2013 - 02:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Wart, The money supply is growing 40% year, the economy is barely 3%, this is a disaster!
Jun 20th, 2013 - 02:44 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Don't you think DURING THE HARVEST TIME the economy will grow? It is your only hard currency export! It's not like you'll have anything to export in Sept-Dec right?
With brilliance like you it is no wonder there is a currency crisis every 10 yrs.
Yes Eliane they are having quite a cold snap......around zero centigrade. Though honestly living in New England, I hardly call 32 degree f cold for winter. That's sweater weather.
Jun 20th, 2013 - 03:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0When it gets into the 60s you'll see sweaters on dogs and puffy coats on the kids!
Jun 20th, 2013 - 03:19 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I hope it lasts 3 weeks!1
That should be enough time to drain all the lng but not enough time to get more tankers...
LOL! I am heading back to Chile next week and a friend emailed me to warn me to pack plenty of warm clothes. With the terrible spring we have had in England I am in warm clothes now! I won't need to acclimatise. Though I will be stopping off in DC and NYC so I shall throw in some summer clobber.
Jun 20th, 2013 - 03:37 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Argentina has a history of being too reliant on exports for a limited period each year. You would think they would diversify more, they have the resources.

You must be a professor in computing in The Dark Country! :o)
INDEC are still at the pulling numbered tickets out of hats as far as I can tell!
GDP was up 3% from a year earlier and 1.5% from the fourth quarter of 2012.
Jun 21st, 2013 - 02:34 am - Link - Report abuse 0Naturally progressing.
The naysayers just hate good news.
And what were the inflation figures during the same period again?
Jun 21st, 2013 - 04:11 am - Link - Report abuse 0You know, the official INDEC figures.
No one hates good news when it's real. Indec is SA's chicken Little
Jun 21st, 2013 - 09:51 am - Link - Report abuse 016. Stupid silly boy, this is not an accurate number. Elections are around the corner do you really think CFK is going to show the country in a recession.
Jun 21st, 2013 - 10:49 am - Link - Report abuse 0What i would be most concerned about is even with 40% more pesos in the economy yoy there is still little to no growth, falling employment, huge amts hotels and retail bankruptcies, huge imports of fuel, rapidly falling reserves, the list can go on and on.
There is no good coming until CFK is retired.
