Trade surplus......BULLSHIT. With oil imports growing by the week....total bullshit.

“17% in May from a year earlier to 7.09bn, driven mainly by a big jump in the purchase of capital goods - including railroad cars and engines from China - and parts and accessories for capital goods.”

They must have forgot to report the 90% increase in oil imports.

My guess is GDP will be reported as 2.8-2.9% yoy since they have to pay the GDP linked bonds over 3%.

70 storefronts are empty on FL Ave!
The only entity hiring is the gov't
Families are now paying 56% of their income to the gov't
90% of the nat gas to industries is turned off

Silly monkeys, who do they think they're fooling?

The economy is not the only thing that has cooled in Argentina. It is a very cold winter. I hope CFK has enough US$ to pay for the gas she will need to import.

Wart, The money supply is growing 40% year, the economy is barely 3%, this is a disaster!
Don't you think DURING THE HARVEST TIME the economy will grow? It is your only hard currency export! It's not like you'll have anything to export in Sept-Dec right?
With brilliance like you it is no wonder there is a currency crisis every 10 yrs.

Yes Eliane they are having quite a cold snap......around zero centigrade. Though honestly living in New England, I hardly call 32 degree f cold for winter. That's sweater weather.

When it gets into the 60s you'll see sweaters on dogs and puffy coats on the kids!
    I hope it lasts 3 weeks!1
That should be enough time to drain all the lng but not enough time to get more tankers...

LOL! I am heading back to Chile next week and a friend emailed me to warn me to pack plenty of warm clothes. With the terrible spring we have had in England I am in warm clothes now! I won't need to acclimatise. Though I will be stopping off in DC and NYC so I shall throw in some summer clobber.

Argentina has a history of being too reliant on exports for a limited period each year. You would think they would diversify more, they have the resources.

“Al freír de los huevos lo verá”

Though, it's not like facts and evidence work with these people. Perhaps they use a number generator, or throw darts at a numbered dartboard while blindfolded.

INDEC are still at the pulling numbered tickets out of hats as far as I can tell!

And what were the inflation figures during the same period again?

You know, the “official” INDEC figures.

    16. Stupid silly boy, this is not an accurate number. Elections are around the corner do you really think CFK is going to show the country in a recession.
What i would be most concerned about is even with 40% more pesos in the economy yoy there is still little to no growth, falling employment, huge amts hotels and retail bankruptcies, huge imports of fuel, rapidly falling reserves, the list can go on and on.

There is no good coming until CFK is “retired”.
