I'm sure that this signal will never be tuned into, unless the Falklanders want to listen to fairy tales.

I'll bet it's even easier to block the signal all together.

But isn't it nice that the Argentine government is still wasting all of it's money on senseless and useless things, instead of on the infrastructure or people of Argentina.

This 'initiative' won't be around for long, because as soon as the money is gone, so will all of these wasteful 'projects'.

I see they are running a nice radio play about Antonio Rivero who, and I quote from their site “...led the uprising in the islands in 1833 and managed to hoist the flag first Argentina in the archipelago.” Perhaps they can translate that into english and educate the Islanders.

The Argies are wasting their time from the first minute because they are broadcasting to the Malvinas which, as everyone knows, do not exist. If the radio broadcast was titled “Calling the Falklands” then they might be able to get a few listeners, even if it was only to hear the “Comedy Half Hour”.
I remember listening to Radio Free Tirana (the English language Albanian propaganda station) in the 1980's- I guess the Argie programme will sound similar.

So this is the kind of thing our money gets spent on.

    Anyway. ePetition news:

It seems an e-petition 'Stop British taxpayers’ money supporting World Bank loans to Argentina' signed by many people recently reached 10,531 signatures and a response has been made to it. The response says:

”As this e-petition has received more than 10 000 signatures, the relevant Government department have provided the following response: In February 2013, the Secretary of State for International Development, Justine Greening, confirmed in an answer to a House of Commons Written Parliamentary Question that she has instructed her representatives at the Inter-American Development Bank and World Bank to vote against all new proposals for financial support to the Government of the Republic of Argentina presented by these institutions, while reserving the right to support proposals that can demonstrate exceptional benefits to the poorest people of Argentina. These are the only Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), in which the UK is a shareholder, from which the Government of Argentina borrows. She has also made public that this is because in her view, the UK must ensure that the scarce resources of the MDBs are used as effectively as possible to foster development and economic growth. In light of recent actions by the Argentine government she is no longer confident that further investments in Argentina would be consistent with these objectives. The actions include the failure to comply with the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes rulings; failure to agree to standard IMF Article IV surveillance since 2006; and the recent IMF censure, the first of its kind, as a result of continued failure to remedy breach of data obligations under the IMF Articles of Agreement, seriously undermining our ability to properly assess proposed future loans by the MDBs. She has also advised that this position will be kept under review, subject to the future actions of the Go

Why do the think the Falkland Islanders want to hear the “official” version of the Argentinian news?

“A news bulletin for the English speaking residents of Malvinas; this is very important because of the links we expect to establish” - what links do the hope to establish - the can't even get the name of the islands right.

The kelpers MUST understand that they are English and will be able to remain so. Or take the nationality that you like. That's not a concern for the Argentines. May continue taking their property, enjoying their freedoms, living on the islands and choosing their authorities. Argentina claims sovereignty over the territory, not on property and people. Understand this.

When will the Argentines realize that any hope of normalizing the relations they have torn up with the Islanders over and over again will only be addressed when they start talking WITH the islanders rather than AT them or ABOUT them to anyone contractually required to listed to their lies. They certainly have chosen the correct medium by whcih to continue their current policy of failure by design.

What WILL be on the radio programming then? News as to how the Islanders are untermensch (as opposed to people) with no rights but what the fascists in Buenos Aires give them? That when they take over they will have all the rights they have no, just as they promised in 1982 before holding guns at their heads? Or will they just be their passive aggressive cowardly selves and just play Cheeky Girls, Jedward and that %$&@ Bruno Mars song over and over and over. Luckily the Islanders have things called “dials” on their radios just like everyone else has had for years.

Perhaps the Islanders should retaliate by broadcasting news including their actual inflation rates.

@28. That's one of the “propery 'rights'” models for fascism by which they promise freedom -- in the big print. Thank you for your candor but its nothing we didn't know already. The state owns the land/country, the people own the printing press but since the state owns the land well... you, being a fascist, get the point. And since the Islands have experienced your vision of “rights” in 1982, they “understand this” all too well.

@28 Dotto:“The kelpers MUST understand that they are English and will be able to remain so.”

The Argentinians MUST understand that they are Falkland Islanders that live on the Falklands and will be able to remain so.

@28 Dotto: “That's not a concern for the Argentines.”

Nothing about the Falklands should concern Argentina.Militarily it has taken up a purely defensive position for the last 30 years in the wake of Argentine aggression, while diplomatically over the last 30 years it has constantly reached out for better relations with Latin American countries.

@28 Dotto: “May continue taking their property, enjoying their freedoms, living on the islands and choosing their authorities. ”

Falkland Islanders do that now without the car crash that is Argentinian government being involved.

@28 Dotto: “Argentina claims sovereignty over the territory, not on property and people. Understand this.”

If Argentina thinks it has a legitimate claim to the Falklands then it should be taken to the ICJ for consideration. Argentina's actions regarding the Falklands go against the charter of the UN and it is of great shame to the UN that they have not used military force to smash Argentina into dirt. Only then might we see an end to the imperialist, colonialist, expansionist, aggressive attitude of Argentina that has only been stunted by the complete military impotence of Argentina.

@5 There's a clue. Look. “But isn't it nice that the Argentine government is still wasting all of it's money on senseless and useless things” You see? It's right there in the sentence. It's ARGIELAND, Thicko!
@13 Have you got a version you prefer?
    @22 So?
@28 You're new to this, aren't you? See whether YOU can understand THIS. The Islanders are, by choice, BRITISH. The territory is, LEGALLY, BRITISH. As WE have proved more than once, there is NOTHING argieland can do about this. Moreover, the FACT that the territory is BRITISH has been confirmed by the United Nations. In addition, the United Nations has NO power to change that. So, all your mealy-mouthed waffling is pointless. Doubt if you'll get paid for this. Try changing your name to Dotty. More accurate!
@33 Is that the nasty, ear-splitting racket that latinos think is music? News for you. It only works in Spanish. Because it's crap.
@35 No, you've got that wrong. It will be 1 argie olds bulletin per day. You can just imagine it. Breaking news! “Moreno applies anti-hoarding law. Demands UK stop interfering in argie agriculture”. “You are either with us or against us. Boudou says. Referring to the allegations about his corruption that he says are UK-inspired”. “CFK to unionised workers: ”I won't stand for anyone's extortion. But if I'm lying down, anyone's insertion is acceptable“. ”Minister Randazzo warns “No railway unionist will blackmail me. CFK is already doing that and I don't have anything left”.

GFace My dear friend. The kelpers have no vote is these issues. sovereignty is disputed between two countries. Argentina-England. The islands are Argentine own right, not by invasion. The Argentine people respect and appreciate those kelpers. But they are not part of the problem. In 1982 ruled in Argentina imposed by the U.S. government, as you well know. The central point is Argentina's sovereignty on the islands, not the way of life, customs, language, culture, values, beliefs, or authorities of the islands. The islands belong to the province of Tierra del Fuego Argentina and in such a condition, the Kelpers may elect democratically their authorities, which do not alter any of these issues. I regret that the British government dig in his heels in maintaining colonial territories in the XXI Century. But sorry for the Kelpers, that this submission can not reach the status of free citizens, and remain subjects. Sorry I can not replicate their aggressions, but I feel no hatred towards those who are not free to express their ideas without consulting London

If you want to talk about anything to do with the Falkland Islands. You will have to talk to the Islanders. Not the English.

Anyway if there were to be talks, who would you send, the Spanish, Italians, Germans, Scandanavians, Russian or the Welsh.

Personally I would prefer the Welsh, at least there would be a common ground to start from. After all, they are English according to your side.

On the up side this is an admission the Islanders exist, progress of a sort.

It remains to be seen whether it becomes an attempt to reach out to their intended audience, or is simply Haw Haw/Tokyo Rose re-visited.

We shall see if they use the name “Malvinas” or “Malvinas/Falklands”, anything else would be too much to hope for at this stage.

No doubt North and South Korea broadcast to each other.

China and Taiwan do, even fire leaflets at each other.

Perhaps “Kelper FM” should start broadcasting in Spanish to Argentina, particularly addressing the indigenous rights agenda.

    @ 40 Dotto
The Islands have never legitimately been administered by, or formed part of, the sovereign territory of the Republic of Argentina.

Argentina has no valid legal, or historical claim to any British territory in the S Atlantic or Antarctic.

Sorry but these are the simple facts.

Nobody hear has heard it - noe of us know the frequency anyway nor do we really care!

Dotto - I am an Islander - like many in this world I always took DEMOCRACY and FREEDOM to live my life they way I want and under a Government I vote and elect as something natural and every day.

Then on 2nd April 1982 YOUR Country came and took away my FREEDOM and my DEMOCRACY at the point of a Gun.

That is something I, and all others whe were here then, will NEVER forget nor FORGIVE for as long as your Country continues to claim our homeland.
We remember the 255 British Servicemen who gave thier lives and the hundreds more who were wounded as the cost of RESTORING those RIGHTS to us.
We treaure those rights - they are written in the UN Charter applicable to all.

@40 Dotty - “The islands belong to the province of Tierra del Fuego Argentina”

Remind me, Dotty, when (and how) did Tierra del Fuego become a part of Argentina, and when did it become a province?

(In case you can't remember, it was around the 1870's, by military conquest of the indigenous population, and became a province in 1990)

Perhaps instead of flogging this dead horse, and wasting the Argentine taxpayers money, CFK should be looking after the ACTUAL Argentine population.

    http://www.lanacion.com.ar/1598776-por-falta-de-medicos-cerraron-la-guardia-del-hospital-eva-peron-de-san-martin

And then of course there is the humiliation of keeping the ARA Libertad docked and cancelling the annual 'training' mission.

    http://www.lanacion.com.ar/1598776-por-falta-de-medicos-cerraron-la-guardia-del-hospital-eva-peron-de-san-martin

Or what about the impending strikes from the workers who are fed up of funding CFK's and her 'winged' monkey's extravagant lifestyle, and expensive overseas trips to bitch on about a subject that isn't urgent or pressing, instead of sorting out the VERY pressing problems Argentina is facing NOW, TODAY?

    http://www.lanacion.com.ar/1598776-por-falta-de-medicos-cerraron-la-guardia-del-hospital-eva-peron-de-san-martin

But no, let the people starve, whilst the government send an expensive propaganda radio signal to a community that won't even bother tuning into, or that the British Military could block with ease, if they had the mind to do so.

    Chuckle, chuckle.

A long term peaceful solution is what every one wants. That does not mean Argentine sovereingty, in fact it means the exact opposite.

Whislt you were chuckling to yourself, perhaps you should have thought of the implications.

The ONLY country to have EVER used a non-peaceful means over the Falklands is ARGENTINA. The only country to continue to use AGGRESSIVE and NON-PEACEFUL attitude towards the Falklands is ARGENTINA.

So this statement is actually aimed at Argentina (chuckle, chuckle).

Soon Argentina will disappear up it's own arse.

It has no money, no food, no fuel, no respect, no pride, no hospitals, no infrastructure.

It's a good job you don't live in Argentina, isn't is Think? I mean, fancy not being able to walk into a shop and BUY whatever you like. Fancy being rationed.

Timmerman had his chance when in London but refused.

Point 10 does not specify dialogue between the UK and Argentina only ! A distinctly ambiguous statement which can mean anything. No backing for Argentina here.

If both sides recognised that there was merit in each other's positions then negotiations could lead to compromise. The problem is that both sides are “confident” of their own claim and shared sovereignty is no-one's desired outcome. Therefore this is a simple sovereignty dispute that requires legal resolution at the ICJ. After that we can proceed quickly to a “peaceful” outcome, which would be either Argentina accepting the status quo, or, the FIs being forced to accept colonial rule from BA. Not going to the court just means status quo anyway, so, your call. Therefore, since broadcasting propaganda is not the same as going to the ICJ then that also just means status quo.

@40 Sorry, Dotty. You don't have a clue. Here's the real basis. In 1982, YOU started a war. You managed a temporary “presence” on the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. Then WE came along and kicked your sorry arses. Never mind anything that went before, those events ALONE make all those territories OURS. In order to protect OUR territory and OUR people we have a small garrison, a few combat aircraft and a couple of naval vessels. That you know about. Anything under the surface of the sea is nobody's business except OURS. And one more thing. All the history back to 1690 proves that WE were right to go to the Falkland Islands in 1982 and beat you shitless. Don't make us come again. Ever seen what a salvo of 30 cruise missiles can do?
@61 Sorry, girlie. The FALKLAND ISLANDS already have a radio station. Still, feel free to use the electrical power you don't have.
@63 Hahahahahahahaha. And how do you “know for a fact”, girlie? Now, here's a thought for you. I reckon that FALKLAND ISLANDERS live like country people. “Early to bed, early to rise”. So who's going to stay up until midnight to listen to a broadcast from The Dark Country?
@66 Oh, how yummy. And this makes a difference.......how? This may come as a surprise to you, but British policies are made by grown-ups. Let me tell you what happens now. The grown-ups read the “final communique”, pat the little boys and girls on the head and tell them that things are different in the “real world”. There is no evidence that this talking shop has ever contributed anything useful. Because they are children. Maybe they “resonate” with CFK. She's pretty childish. But, you really getting quite desperate, aren't you? You don't live in argieland. You spout the “government” propaganda. You divert. You ignore. Because you have NO answers and NO credibility. I used to “think” you might be quite intelligent. Now I know better. You really must get Tinboy's scripwriters to give you better material.

False pride. There is power in being a victim and persuading others with similar beliefs that they have something in common. The 'solidarity of the aggrieved' one might say. Being obsessed with past, perceived, injustices means never having to deal with the present or plan for the future. Cultures that both survive and thrive are ones that evolve.

I wonder if Argentina really wants to sit down and negotiate. In all their disputes they invariably raise the stakes so high they leave the other party(s) no room to negotiate anything! It's a form of self-destructiveness - a cycle actually.

@82 Dot, your lies are no less false in spanish than they are when written in english. The UN has made NO statement that the Islands are Argentine. The UN only recognizes a dispute which you refuse to take to the ICJ & you even lack the courage to meet with the people you insist on colonizing. Argentina was EXPLICITLY ordered to leave the Islands in 1982 -- those UNSC resolutions, the ONLY ~binding~ resolutions on the case, make it clear that AR was to leave the Islands. The Islanders have no right to self-determination? Spoken like a true fascist and a liar to boot. Yes, in 1982 you maliciously deprived them of any self-determination by forcing your Dirty War down their throats. The British armed forces gave that fundamental human right back to them -- and ironically to you since it finally inspired you to get rid of the Junta who let you down by losing the islands (since you cheered them in April). But the UNGA has explicitly said that self-determination belongs to ALL people -- the people of the Falklands (and Gibraltar) were NOT excluded despite the best but nakedly dishonest efforts of Spain and Argentina and honestly it amazes me how often you Malvanistas tell that lie through your teeth over and over and over again here when it is so explicitly clear in records that anyone can google.

And I really don't care if they kneel before the queen, high-five her or fondly smack her on the bottom. That is their choice and they have the liberty to do it just as you have the liberty to publish independent data on inflation -- oh, wait you don't (Sad that...). But it's a level of traditional ceremony like your presidents (boy or girl) wearing beauty queen sashes or US elected officials swearing on bibles (it's “ceremonial deism” we're told) or judges almost everywhere in the West wearing black evening gowns before noon. More still, it's further distraction from your government's distraction when it is in trouble which you STILL fall for even after 1982!

Dotto - nice to see you back answering some comments - could you answer mine @60.
You say the Islands are part of the Tierra del Fuego province, and that they are Argentinian by right, not by invasion. So how did TdF become part of Argentina, and then a Province. The answer is by military invasion and conquest in the 1870s and then by decree in 1990.
If it is OK to gain territory by conquest, then even if that is how UK came to own the Falklands (which I do not accept), then it is OK for them to keep them. If it is not OK to take territory by conquest, then when are you handing back TdF to the original inhabitants - when you do, maybe you will have a basis to argue from (oops, too late, you killed them all........)

@14 When I lived in Singapore I picked up Radio Pyongyang on short wave for a dose of unreality - nowadays I can watch Press TV from Iran online.

Reminds me of the propaganda station set up by the Foreign Office pretending to be from Argentina with people speaking Spanish with Colombian accents.

    http://www.psywarrior.com/Falklands.html

Maybe this will have Argentines speaking English with American accents pretending to be 'Voice of Free Britain' broadcasting from London - but using 'Malvinas' will be a giveaway.

Sorry, Her Majesty Clowns!! The UK government does not care about the islanders, only interested in the oil of the islands. This is reality. That is the policy that they have continued with their inhabitants. Historical policy for islanders.

    A new troll?
You would not know reality if it bit you on your Argie. culo.
So, give us your reasoned argument as to why we should believe the nonsense you have just posted. Thank you in anticipation.
The only reason YOU want it is for the oil, which some of your posters say does not exist in commercially extractable quantities.

Putting all the patriotic sentiment aside for one moment.....
Yesterday , the domestic airport , Aeroparque ,was paralysed by a computer malfunction .All but 2 flights out of 60 were cancelled .Every other day , it's a strike that stops the flights .That's assuming Aerolineas could even afford or be bothered with flights to the islands , The Argentine Navy has no ships , the Air Force has no planes and the scientists on Marambio were close to starving because they could not be re-supplied .
If the Islands ever came under Argentine control , the population would literally starve too .
Can you Malvinista's not understand that is why no one on the islands would even contemplate wanting to be part of Argentina ?
The only government office would be AFIP , there to tax the shirts off people's backs and then leave again.
Troll all you like , but it won't happen in any of our lifetimes . It's merely a distraction to keep you banging on about something that will not change your life one bit .
Why don't you go and help old ladies with their shopping , or their gardens , or help the Qom up north , if you are so community minded .

“The UK government does not care about the islanders, only interested in the oil of the islands”

So interested in the oil that the Falkland Islanders issue the licenses and agreements with the exploration companies?

The UK government cares a lot more about the islanders than the Argentine government cares about Argentines.

The reality and specificity of this is that The Argentine government does not care about the Islanders or Argentinians -only interested in the oil of the islands because they can't get their own oil out of the ground so want to steal it off people that can extract it.

    @102 Gracias for the praise
Congratulations on your independence anniversary. I'm sure it makes you appreciate independence and liberty from a bullying neighbour.

No, the oil/gas in Falklands waters belongs to the Islanders.

We are more interested in the oil/gas in S Georgia/Sandwich Islands and Antarctica that all belongs to us.
