Falklands Islands received €4.13 million from the European Union to support sustainable growth through economic diversification under the European Development Fund (EDF) through mid-2013 to early 2016. Read full article
does the EU not recognize the €4.13 million it just gave the Falkland island? Does the EU not recognize the Falklands islands rights to develop there own culture and identity as the peoples of the Falkland islands?
Clearly actions speak louder then words
Mmmmmm Argentina say:
”No one (that's night, nobody at all in the world ), recognises the Falkland Islands, and everyone (in the world) supports Argentina's fairy tale claim.
EU (made of of many countries, er not just one or two).:
We recognise you exist as an affiliated territory of the EU otherwise you wouldn't get this money.
So now that's Canada, the EU (perhaps except for Spain who are like Argentina going down the plughole-funny that both of them are fecked countries having a common ancestry eh?), and a growing number of other countries that accept the Falkland Islanders have the right to exist.
Still we hear from Argentina that NO ONE in the world supports the Islanders.
When the true account of history, the right of self determination, and the proper context to the Falkland Islands are publicised by the Islanders, Argentina will find their 'apparent worldwide support' gets smaller, and smaller and smaller.
you can add Australia, New Zealand, Seirra Leone to your list of countries recently expressing their support. There are many others who have spoken at the UN.
well, well, well... that rather puts pay to those claiming nobody recognises the Falklands as British doesnt it?
Kinda hard to argue that the EU doesnt recognise British sovereignty when it hands out EDF funds to it.
I guess that means that all those many, many, many people who tried valiantly to point out the little fact in previous comments can sit back justified and the campora trolls need to eat a lot of hats.
Four weeks ago, I emailed this to Seńor Barnuevo
I have read in Mercopress that“British sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands as such is not accepted by the European Parliament”, according to a visiting delegation of EU lawmakers who met with their Argentine peers in Buenos Aires.
Can you direct me to any motion or legislation that has been passed by the European Parliament which states this. Has any vote been taken on this or is it just a personal opinion.
@2 Aaaah, toilet paper. The vital needs of Venezuela. Why do you persist in this imaginery Argentine land? There is no Argentine land in the South Atlantic. As if argieland had any rights. It's an implanted population, right? So it doesn't have rights. Actually, it doesn't exist. It's just a bunch of murderers, rapists and thieves (not very good thieves) that have gathered together. But it will make a good bomb and missile range!
Marcos Alejandro, you piece of shit why are you still squatting in London why don't you piss of back to Argentina??? Oh I forgot as you told a journalist you will go back when things get better-looks like you'll be waiting a long time in the mean time why don't you pop round to the Argie embassy and colour the roots of the grey headed red headed old idiot occupying the building.
All citizens of the British overseas territories were granted full British citizenship by the British Overseas Territories Act 2002 and are consequently citizens of the European Union
Now I admit I did not know this. Can't be an expert in all fields.
But this means the people of the Falkland Islands will enjoy all the freedoms & privileges of EU citizenship.
I wonder if the stupid Spanish European politician realized this?
Vestige- since when has the Falkland Islands Govt even asked Brussels about the referendum?
You and Marcos are in same league! Fantasy Straw Clutchers.
Hey Marcos, short of toilet paper? You could always use those unsold Big Issues. No shortage of toilet paper in the Falklands or UK, in fact no shortage of anything. It's only in uncivilised parts of the world like SA that such shortages exist. Cuba, Venezuala and RGland in particular.
Think/Vestige/ Doverwhatsit your whiskey supplies can be cut off and the pain and shame that whiskey shrouds will re-emerge. How will that feel
@20 Islander1: since when has the Falkland Islands Govt even asked Brussels about the referendum?
A British journalist asked an EU press officer about the Falklands referendum...and the press officer refused to comment, giving the reason that it was an internal matter for the British and therefore was not a concern at EU level.
So actually the EU has recognised that the Falklands are British, and stated its political relationship with Westminister is to be decided between the Falklanders and Westminster, and the EU has no input into the nature of that relationship.
Thanks to Think, who repeatedly posted the link to the video. I 'Think' he didn't actually listen to what was being said...
@23 Doveoverdover: When you meet A_Voice in the sock drawer, can you hide him? Your gaffes were far more entertaining, even if your long threads with the Think account did get quite tedious.
22- thanks for the clarification, I knew it had not been raised officially by us or UK as it is not an EU issue. Not that it will stop some trying to create something out of nothing and inventing it! But we are well used to that.
Judging by the number of socks that have appeared on here it would seem even they find it hard to keep arguing that Argentina's isolation policy is actually having any effect.
@18
Hardly so, the clue is in the EU praise for good governance, a term that can't sadly be applied to Argentina.
As the referendum was staged by the FIG, who are getting the praise for how they govern themselves, the EU obviously accept the referendum.
@22

Therefore= not an internal matter for Argentina, according to the EU.

I say so too, as do many others, the fact that others here have said that you live in Britain yet degrade it in all of your comments really does make you ”one deluded idiot.”
