Does this mean that Venezuela have dropped their territorial ambitions with regard to Guyana? They claim a fair chunk of Guyana (Esquiba) is part of Venezuela, until it was stolen by the British pirates. Sound familiar?

If they can integrate Guyana, they could also integrate the Falklands.

Also important to note that the Falkland Islands are no longer considered to be “South American”!

“The framework adhesion accord is an important step in the joint path to integration which has become imperative and is no longer an option for us”, said Guyana Foreign minister Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, adding that “we want to act as a bridge between South America and the Caribbean.”

WTF is the meaning of that?

I hope when she is part of the bridge she can carry the weight of her tongue.

Bet it sounds impressive to the peons though.

Despite what most here want and states Mercosul seems to be expanding not collapsing. Remember that once Bolivia was once an associate member and now is about to become a full member.

If the block was liberal instead of conservative it would be a great tool to promote development in the area.
