    It’s not a secret by any means, but Argentina and China have been getting their collective heads together to discuss licence production of the single seat aircraft, and thus re-invigorate the Argentine Air Force (Fuerza Aérea Argentina – FAA) with a more contemporary jet fighter.

    Very interesting article, it will boil down to money though, can they justify this expenditure with so many internal infrastructure and economic problems? One thing for sure is that, if they do go ahead and put the order in, they have no domestic threats, we should treat it as a definite step towards another invasion in years to come and up the defence of the islands accordingly.

    It's fine if the airfield it comes from is not destroyed.

    The Meteor AAM should be in service when this arrives and if Argentina develops tankers and they are shot down-this aircraft will not have a lot of time over the Falklands .

    It has a lovely huge exhaust for a SRAAM to home in on.

    Also I doubt the F35 would be limited only to carrier operations, and this aircraft(RN variant) is V/STOL.

    So No MPA =F35 V/STOL is still there.

    Argentina still has the problem of;
    a)- If it destroys the runway at MPA it will only have Stanley and rough airfields to land at-so if it stops UK reinforcements then it stops it's own.

    b)- Argentina would also need a navy that has reliable ships-and they have to get past our subs to land anything.

    Nossie feels the burning need to defend the honor of Argentina, the country where the actual government condoned nazism and slaughters their indigenous people. The only problem, Argentina lost honor when peronism started stealing from the country and international businesses.......and then their citizens. Such a concept to defend...convenient to be out of country........the USA knows the agenda anyway.......lol

    For all your claims Anglotino, you are actually the one that least contributes to the debate here, and the most arrogant one of all. I guess that rumor the Poms say about the Australians is true. Arrogant as ferk.

    And btw, at some point events start waning in significance for society at large.

    Does every US president still go to Hawaii to commemorate Pearl Harbor? I doubt it. It's been 19 years since this incident, I don't think a president must go to every event every year.

    Next year being 20 years I will concede it might we wise and proper to attend, but beyond that... I think it is long in the past.

    That's a rumour? Oh no how will we survive the shame of it all. That would mean that I should write a comment like #11.

    Anyway back to your autism - that isn't a rumour but a deduction. Or is it just Asperger's?

    You have a president that borders on the insane and is woefully incapable of acting statesmenlike and professional and doing the best for her country. She has robbed you blind and taken you back AGAIN to the edge of economic meltdown.

    But YOU wanna talk about news in the US or rumours (?!) from the UK.

    Cristina has turned Argentina into a dump and you deflect. That ain't a RUMOUR, that's a FACT.

    Anyway back to your autism. Now I know why you are so good at languages and so bad in social situations. So much of these fora just pass you by.

    And of course I'm arrogant. I'm a product of people like you and Think and Stevie and Axel Arg and Sussie - it's hard to not be arrogant surround by amateurs that are so incompetence.

    Don't complain about it, attack and rebut it! PLEASE!

    So if you are the product of your surroundings, why can't I? Well, my predecessors that is. They were highly antagonistic of foreigners, why do you think that is? Read the comments here? Why are you allowed to be arrogant based on your perception of others “amateurism”, yet you scolded my predecessors for being so xenophobic and virulent, when it was nothing but a reaction of “fire with fire”.

    Double standards?

    As for the president of Argentina, I don't see how her insanity or actions in soi-dissant destroying Argentina affect you. That's what you want you've said as much. So if that is what is happening (of course I do not see this), and it was your desire, your strident disputatiousness is a non-sequitur.

    I'm arrogant because I can be. My posts, reasoning and research are always superior to yours. I have lost count of the number of posts where not only have I demolished you but you fail to come back with a reply.

    It's considered normal here.

    You're racist and xenophobic because others are? What a pathetically weak willed personality you possess. You emulate that which you dislike?

    If you can't beat 'em join 'em?

    I've always felt sorry for you but you just took it to another level. It is akin to me become pathetic and unable to argue because I have interacted with you. I'm sorry but I am unable to lower myself to that standard.

    Congratulations but you so easily did it. You must feel so smug and superior now that you can fight “fire with fire”.

    So no double standards. I have become better because of people like you and you have become less because of people you despise.

    As for your president; ”So if that is what is happening (of course I do not see this)”. Of course you don't.

    That is what everyone keeps telling you. You have no life experience other than through your computer screen. You haven't been anywhere or experienced anything. You are so busy digging up dirt on Argentina's 'enemies' to besmirch them that you totally miss how Argentina is being perceived around the world.

    Your autism or autistic-like personality fail to see the glaring contradictions that your government creates or the way they are now being treated by other countries or the way that your country is slowly descending in economic backwardness again a la a boiling frog.

    Just keep upping the temperature bit by bit.

    So interacting with you has increased my abilities while you debased yourself. A bit like countries that deal with Argentina. They prosper and improve while Argentina debases itself yet again.

    @19Anglotino:

    “Have you learned only the lessons only of those who admired you,
    and were tender with you, and stood aside for you?
    Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed passage with you?”

    Where ever you are, Walt Whitman, a great American, thank you.

    @20Anglotino:

    There's going to be an interesting show on SBS tonight - Insight at 8:30. Out of respect to you, I won't mention the subject, but I suggest you watch it nonetheless.

    You are well on the path that Alan Jones, Christopher Pearson and Sir David Flint have well trodden & I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I don't agree with anything Tobias says either but I don't take any pleasure from beating up teenagers with my keyboard either.

    It's tragic and somewhat predictable. At first she pretends that she will finally give the victims justice, then scraps that over a trade deal with Iran. Then promises that she will help Ecuador with a legal tangle with Cheveron, just to scrap that over a new offer.

    Never trust a K where there's money involved.

    A minor detour:

    http://news.yahoo.com/panama-finds-suspected-weapons-n-korean-ship-133313565.html

    Looks like Cuba and North Korea just had an “oh shit” moment. For North Korea it's close to meaningless and they are already a starving despot nation. But for Cuba, they are not quite there yet and this does not help them. This all leads me to think that this is what Argentina and Venezuela's future will be........with their shipments of their most advanced catapults, battering rams and ballista's to iran
