Italy and Portugal have officially apologized for involvement in illegally re-routing the plane carrying Bolivian President Evo Morales earlier this month during a flight home from Moscow. Complain to the UNHCR indeed.
Jul 20th, 2013 - 06:24 am - Link - Report abuse 0I wonder how this compares to murder, torture, slavery, child soldiers, starvation, child education, freedom of speech etc, etc, etc!
All those things that matter to the UNHCR, not this rubbish.
Embarrassing a national leader, breaches his human rights!
Get real.
As most European governments know, an apology costs nothing. Especially if you don't mean it. Objective achieved!
Jul 20th, 2013 - 12:28 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You have to smile at the hubris involved with the “outrage” by the four stooges of Brazil, Venezuela, The Dark Country and Uruguay (admittedly led by a man showing clear signs of dementia).
Jul 20th, 2013 - 04:10 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I suggested at the time this nonsense blew up that they should have shot the bastard out of the sky and they could have had a State Funeral to go with it. It certainly feels like a funeral anyway: but of Mercosur.
You know, I'm on the right, but I agree with the demands for an apology as the NSA has become Big Brother and we should ALL question what impact it has upon all of us. I truly believe that the USA has gone too far.
Jul 20th, 2013 - 05:18 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Please note that the countries that apologised for this outrage were from Europe.

Cuba......the humanitarian nation doing good and shipping sugar cane to North Korea...........with extra special sugar. Didn't they read the UN report and actions of the UNSC? Perhaps it was not written in neutral Spanish.

THINK, REALITY CHECK, CONQUEROR, ChrisR,
Jul 22nd, 2013 - 02:28 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You make a team of donkeys whose image of yourselves is idyllically preposterous, while in fact you are a shallow, ignorant, unimaginative group of losers.
You're being stuck on yesteryears' cliches about Latino America and are blind to what in actually is happening there, the Titanic you're standing on is sinking, exposing your thoroughly off-the-mark comments, rather amusingly. Te US empire is going down and you're too stupid to see it.
When the US threatened Ecuador with taking away a preferential imports discount if it received Snowden, Rafael Correa unilaterally refused the discount and threw it back onto Uncle Sam's face, retorting it is Ecuador who is offering the 23 lousy million dollars discount back to the US so gringos can be taught about human rights.
It is the US and Europe who are in crisis caught up in a debt trap of their own making, because their capitalism has turned unto a self-cannibalization with the financial sector devouring the insides of their Real Economy.
As statistics show, while the US and Europe are bleeding, most of Southamerica has been picking up the pace in growth (REAL growth, not BS stock market manipulation) becoming independent not only ideologically, but economically, enhancing trade with China, Russia and the BRICS.
Your OBTUSE comments and assertions on the Bolivian president's incident shows transparently how racist and backward-hill-billies mentality you all have.
Your attempts at appearing to have a minimal amount of intellectual prowess have failed. Your own words have rendered you naked as the pitiful pygmies you truly are.

Jul 22nd, 2013 - 03:41 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Ah, you are upset about calling the Cowpat, the Cowpat, eh?
As you think I am a donkey, you MUST really LIKE donkeys (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, you know what I mean) how about I start calling the Cowpat “Donkey shithead”?
I like it, but it is not so “sharp”, just like you in fact.
No, I think I will stick to Cowpat.
This will be the first and last time I let you off with a joke: insult me again at your peril.

Jul 23rd, 2013 - 01:29 am - Link - Report abuse 0So, I want to ask something about your post?
Hugo Chavez was actually a brilliant leader and way, way, advanced intellectually than Americans and Europeans, right?
Christina Kirchner is also a very advanced thinker right?
Didn't Morales win some kind of award from the UN, like person of the century?
So you see everybody, if you open your blind eyes and just look, it is clear, Argentina and Venezuela are on the rise!
