    It is easy to pinpoint the real problem here. Argentina is running out of US Dollars and by delating its trade policies plus Argentina's trade protections measures are indeed the negative and unfair maneuvers not only to Brazil, but to other Mercosur members as well.
    MercosurPress, for unknown reason, refers to Argentina over 80% of its articles on each of its publications, an unfair practice , unless other Mercosur country members are less energetics considering that Brazil performs as the greates trade in South America region and it is a greater contributor in business and economics to the world.

    This isn't “MercosurPress”, this is Penguin News in disguise.
    It's only agenda is to trashtalk Argentina and try to discredit anything that comes from that country.
    Using double morales, blatant misinformation and outright lies, these Brits, because that is just what they are, both those from the UK and those from the Malvinas, try to justify their colonialism and militarisation af the South Atlantic.

    Reuters is saying all the grand China projects started in Arg are 2 months away from running out of funds.
    I told everyone a year ago don't count on Brazil and China to bail out Arg, they have their own very serious problems.
    Looks like I was right again
    One wonders how long GM FORD DOW will stick around, my guess is not too much longer.
    I doubt even the Arg gov't hiring machine can make up those huge unemployment numbers.

    As #8 puts it, 80% of the news are about Argentina.
    Have you ever seen an Argentine news paper that uses 80% of their space to talk (badly) about the Malvinas ( call them Falklands)?

    You lot have no interest in having a normal relationship to Latin America, you merely agree with the flavour of the day, should that flavour suit you.

    You have to realise that if the Falklanders were left in peace and that Argentina had more interest in being good neighbours rather than indulging in a colonialist fantasy based on what might or might not have happened in 1833 (and rendered irrelevent by the 1850 treaty in any case) that the UK/ FI poster would have better things to do that “bad mouth” Argentina.

    Your glorious leader has set your country on its perverse course with an attempted economic blockade. These actions have consequences so please don't whine about Argentina being some kind of victim. If you play nice, so will we. End of...

    At some point, sooner rather than later, Brazil is going to have to square its world trade ambitions, indeed necessity, with the circle that is murcosure.

    What’s the betting that when that time comes, they will “push Argentina under a bus” without a second thought.

    @4 Stevie
    More a case of the only thing you have in common, is your racist attitude towards Gringos.

    @8 Kirk Nelson
    MurcoPress is actually a South Atlantic news site, and Argentina does try and insert itself into S. Atlantic affairs far more than all other S. American countries combined.

    @9 Stevie
    It’s our S. Atlantic to militarise, no “justification” necessary.

    @14 Stevie
    “Us lot” do have normal relations with most of S. America, as well as growing trade.

    It’s only “you lot” we don’t have the time of day for, as increasingly neither does the rest of S. America.

    As we say “a Billy Nomates”.

    @4 Who's the “we”? Doesn't seem to include places like Chile, Colombia and Peru. But then totalitarian dictatorships always stick together. Let's see now, how does Venezuela, argieland, Brazil and Uruguay compare with nazi Germany, Japan, Romania and Italy? But it's always good to know who your enemies are. Easier to target!
    @6 What's “cartboard”? Is it like “ersatz” anything? Another benefit of the “German” background.
    @9 Ah, diddums. No-one needs to “trashtalk” argieland. One only has to accurately report what it does and the words that come out of the mother witch's mouth.
    Perhaps you'd like to mention the blatant misinformation and outright lies that issue from Buenos Aires. But you can't really because, if you told the TRUTH, everybody would be able to see what lying scumbags argies and their cronies are.
    Let's start with some easy ones. Where are the “Malvinas”? The Falkland Islands were named by the British, long before the French and the Spanish came along. And long, long before some rebel colony decided to start lying. A character trait it continues to this day. What's the problem with colonialism? Are you saying that it was wrong of the Spanish, Italians etc to colonise what is now called argieland. If it was, then you shouldn't be where you are, should you? Nobody who uses Spanish or Portuguese as a national language in latam should be where they are. Right? And on to “militarisation”. Do argieland, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela have armed forces? Don't many of them keep upgrading things, when they can afford it? Do you remember the first three months of 1982 when Britain only posted the Governor's honour guard of 40 Royal Marines to the Falkland Islands? Do you remember how argiescumland sent 66,000 troops, an aircraft carrier, 6 destroyers, 2 frigates, 2 icebreakers, a tank landing ship and a submarine to overcome them and steal British territory? British for nearly 300 years? Try “perspective”!

    #24 “Cartboard” can be easily explained, Stevie is obviously one of RGlands most favourite professions - a Cartonero. They come out after dark and collect all the cardboard and plastic rubbish which is just thrown out on the street by every RG household and business. That is why the whole country always looks like a rubbish tip. It's easy to see how a poorly educated child like Stevie could become confused because the packs of cardboard etc are collected up on handcarts and wheeled to the rubbish tip where they are then rewarded by a few pesos. Hence 'Cartboard'.
    As for Mercopress being an arm of Penguin News, all I can say is Honk Honk!

    The article produces a bit of confusion in its choice of words. “Asian produce” can be widely misinterpreted as the importation of Asian vegetables. Maybe the word “products” or “production” would be more appropriate in this context.

    I just checked a map of the South Atlantic. The only thing that says “UK” there are the Falklands, South Georgia and Sandwich. Meanwhile Argentina has half of Tierra del Fuego island, Estados Island, and about 4,000km of coastline.

    Your south Atlantic?

    Maybe is that prototypical British attitude about things that Argentine's don't appreciate much (like the arrogance, the lack of basic acknowledgement that you have neighbors in the region, and the half-truths about Argentina you bruit about).

    I know, it's all our fault, but really, it is not. We may not want trade or cultural exchange with the UK, but that does not equate animosity. You conclude that.

    Without getting into a slanging match, you could equally substitute Argentina's attitude for “British attitude”.
    My only interest in this forum is the Falkland Islands and the other S. Atlantic islands under the British flag.
    However, the vehemence of posters on both sides is really uncalled for. If we could put a name and face to posters, then maybe it could be moderated. As long as Argentina makes claims against the islands and your government peddles half truths and lies, I don't know what the answer can be.
    Strangely enough, my copy of the Scottish Rock Garden Club journal arrived today. It had an article about a field trip to the Andes foothills in Mendoza with an an Argentinian guide. They had a great time with no problems

    Well, I'm sure they all mentioned they were Scottish. No one in Argentina dislikes the Scots, on the contrary, and one of my father's best friends was a true Argentine-Scott.

    However I am more discerning and as long as the Scottish hide behind the UK when convenient, you are equally co-responsible for London's misadventures like Iraq et al.

    I'm am not too tough on Pugol precisely because in this one instance (the Falklands), Argentina is the obstreperous pursuer. But when taken too far, I will point it out.

    No , it was a European group headed by a Dutchman Ger van den Beuken and made up of 8 nationalities.
    The Scots are British and follow UK International policy in the same way as the English, Welsh and N.Irish.
    The SNP have a “Scottish International Policy” but this is just THEIR idea and has not had the vote of the Scottish Electorate.
    You will find any amount of variance as regards“Foreign Policy” throughout the whole of the British Isles.
