The Argentine Foreign ministry informed that India has extended its placet to trade expert and career diplomat Raul Ignacio Guastavino, as the next ambassador in New Delhi.

Guastavino is a solicitor by training with doctoral studies in France on economic integration and European commission law, and later joined the Argentine Foreign Service Institute from where he graduated with the highest honours of his promotion in 1987.

According to the Foreign Ministry release Ambassador Guastavino has a long experience in the different areas of the Argentine diplomatic service and before his nomination for India he was head of the European Community Department.

Guastavino besides occupying posts related to his special training in trade and integration was also cabinet chief of the Foreign Ministry and commissioned to the Ministry of Economy to work in the areas of industry, foreign trade and investments.

Overseas, from 2008 to 2012 he was chargé d’affairs in Paris; before that in Montevideo representative at the Latam Integration Association, Aladi; the embassy in Bolivia and head of consular offices in Los Angeles.

That`s odd, a professional diplomat! Looks like the La Campora boys prefer Paris, London or NY.

“Argentine Foreign Service Institute from where he graduated with the highest honours of his promotion in 1987.”

So what does he look like after another 26 years of dealing with twats like the Kirchners?

Mind you, he will find a few sharp operators in India who won't touch The Dark Country with a scimitar unless there is money up front. (notice what I did there?) :o)
