Patriota is such a prick. Choice between upsetting brazil, or the whole of latam, and placing American and allied lives at risk. A definite no-brainer. Like the United States needs any part of latam. Come to think of it, like anyone needs any part of latam. Much more careful about what I buy these days. Items from latam are always at the bottom of the list. Except Chile. Most things from latam I can do without.
Kerry is such a dissembler. He said nothing. Even the one thing he DID say clearly made no sense in context, when he defended the surveillance program as having been approved by all three branches of the US government. How is that relevant to spying on one's allies in another sovereign nation> The US gov. has no jurisdiction in other countries. Maybe Mr. Kerry actually believes that Latam is still our backyard.
There will be no satisfactory answer for Brasil or the U because there is no satisfactory explanation for spying on one's allies. But wait . . . as lackeys for big business, could this all have been an exercise in INDUSTRIAL espionage by the NSA? Makes sense in light of the intense jealousy the USA has for countries that dare to compete and appear to have the will, the talent, and stats to show their remarkable advances on the world's stage.
