I can here it now, an announcement saying The train crashing in Once is the 12:00 from Cippolletti beware doors opening
Aug 22nd, 2013 - 06:53 am - Link - Report abuse 0I told my cousin never to take the train, that we will help her with an alternate source of transport. They are probably just going to give the old trains a new paint job like last time.
Aug 22nd, 2013 - 07:06 am - Link - Report abuse 0This is China who does stuff on the cheap in order to maximise their profits (very capitalist of them, isn't it?).
Aug 22nd, 2013 - 08:39 am - Link - Report abuse 0China also have very 'loose' health and safety standards along with poor Quality Control measures.
On the other hand, it is still probably better than anything that Argentina can provide.
Remember that the rolling stock involved in the Once massacre was bought second hand from the Chinese!!!!!!!!!!
Aug 22nd, 2013 - 09:20 am - Link - Report abuse 0Much better than the European crap that wrecks on a weekly basis all over Europe killing people.

Why buy from China when we can build rolling stock for ourselves, we did it before and the waggons we made lasted for more than 50 years and some are still in use!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing wrong with chinese passenger trains. Their quality approximates internationally recognised standards. In the case of Argentina, the question is not so much of rolling stock, but rather that of track infrastrucure, and embedded safety installations.
Aug 22nd, 2013 - 11:24 am - Link - Report abuse 0@8 It's You're not Your. Apart from that, couldn't agree more.
Aug 22nd, 2013 - 11:25 am - Link - Report abuse 0@9 Surely argieland isn't really buying. Won't this be part of the Chinese credit line? Entry point to the New Greater Asia and Latin America Co-Prosperity Sphere.
Have there been half a dozen accidents all over Europe in the last three months, YES OR NO?
Aug 22nd, 2013 - 11:30 am - Link - Report abuse 0If Yes, I once again tell the truth (as always).
If no, I'll leave the forum FOREVER.

Aug 22nd, 2013 - 11:39 am - Link - Report abuse 0Excellent link, which should be read by the argies so that they can see for themselves the trouble that will be arriving at a station near you in the near future.
It seems that the Chin are as mendacious with their people as TMBOA is with hers.
Some of the comments from the population are very telling.
The statement training to renovate rails and wheels for the General Roca Line would suggest that nobody in The Dark Country is presently capable of doing the daily maintenance required to sideline rolling stock with cracked wheels or understand the nuances that affect safety with the way. That explains a lot of the crashes.
@12
Aug 22nd, 2013 - 11:52 am - Link - Report abuse 0Are you seriously comparing the accident rate of one country of 40 million to an entire continent of 50 countries and a population of 730 million? Because if you are then you truly are an idiot.
Yes I am. JUST LIKE YOU ARE ALWAYS IDIOTS, comparing the economic weight of the EU/US/China/Japan/Brazil etc combined, when mocking Argentina's lack of power in world economics.
Aug 22nd, 2013 - 12:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0So when it suits you all, population size counts, when it's not so convenient (train accidents and mass shootings in the case of Yankeeboy's USA USA USA), then its back to per capital.
PATHETIC INSECURITY.

Err.. no we don't you will find that the commentators here usually compare ALL of Latin America to the likes of Europe.
You however are actually trying to compare the accident rate of one country to a whole continent, its called a no brainer in working out which of the two will have a higher accident statistic. It proves that you suffer from PATHETIC INSECURITY and are no were near as smart as you claim you are. But if you would really like me to compare certain figures of Argentina to another country I can.
@15 No when we compare with Argentina is usually on a % basis or a per head basis. Such as
Aug 22nd, 2013 - 03:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0- x% of Argentina live in abject poverty. Or
- I don't know why you are bringing up the UKs austerity program, the UK has just introduced a cap on benefits at $39000 (with exemptions if you are a parent of a child with disabilities or have been unemployed for less than a year) how does this compare with what the Average Argentine earns?
It is useless to buy new equipment no matter where is it from since still exist scaring driving practices of train drivers that have killed many people in these last 3 years.

I actually wonder if any equipment will ever arrive.
Aug 23rd, 2013 - 04:48 am - Link - Report abuse 0As corrupt as the officials are in Argentina, they will probably pocket the lion's share of the money, and pay for yet another superficial face lift to the system.

There's only one Argentinian-run railway I'd be comfortable with, and its in Rome, about 330 yards long.
