    China will surely dominate in shaping the terms of the deal. Despite Cristina's desire to be a petty tyrant, she has very little to offer.

    Most likely China is looking beyond the two year mark when Cristina will be out of the picture.

    YPF are always about to sign a contract with someone.

    It's amazing how often it doesn't actually happen.

    There is NO promise that Argentina can give a potential investor that they would believe. After all, Argentina just breaks its promises, contracts and treaties.

    Chevron, CNOOC, Dow, the billionaire Bulgheroni brothers and billionaire Eduardo Eurnekian ...

    Yanqui and Chinese imperialists in league with the oligarchs - is that the way nationalization is supposed to work? Or was it just theft?

    There is an old saying in Britain at times like these:

    “I will believe it when I see it”.

    @9

    It depends whether there is anything worth drilling for in the South Atlantic-the Argentine Shale fields are massive, but the oil fields around the Falklands don't have to be massive as they support 3000 people who already have 40% of their power produced by renewable sources.

    China will not go all the way to the South Atlantic to drill for peanuts.

    “First step: some were in the Patagonia...
    then we will give the chinese the OK to go drilling in Argentina's sea,”

    Third step-then Argentina will expropriate the Chinese assets and get their asses kicked.
